  1. I liked the civic but I think I prefere the Zed, I like having more tourqe, the civic had to be driven hard were as the Zed has power low down.

What you thinking of getting next?

  2. Yea, my last car was an EP3 type R and I seen a lot available when I was doing the exhaust mods, so it's basically allowing more flow but without the increased noise you get from "cannon type" boxes?

I ended up replacing the lot from the engine back with stainless hi flow cats etc etc but had a stainless version of the standard back box to keep the noise down and that sounded pretty nice. Non of this bin lid exhaust sh#t, been there with my Impreza :s

Likewise mate, I had an ep3. Did a lot of n/a mods and had it mapped by tdi north. In the end I started running nitrous, all on a custom exhaust paired to a standard backbox! In fact a friend ran his supercharged ep3 on the standard backbox and pulled just over 300bhp (that's what made me realise it wasn't restrictive).

The mugen twinloop as far as I know was a compromise of power increase without the additional noise. Some of the other systems gave better gains but where dreadfully loud.

There was a point when you could still get the fujitsubo legalis r or the hks hipower silent exhaust which was supposed to be very quiet with maximum flow. Dunno about the hks but the legalis was a few thousand pound at least.

Nice! I had one of those back boxes with the removable bung in it before I went back to standard, sounded either really raspy or stupidly droany.

Luckily when I bought my Zed, the preivious owner had fitted stainless cat back pipes with the resonator deleted and a fujitsubo back box, not too loud but still sounds awesome mid range. Didn't know they cost that much tho!

  3. I can't understand why these world leaders think that it's actuall a viable option? As Richf just pointed out, the effects would be world wide, nobody's a winner if there is nowhere left to celebrate!

I think EMP strikes are more likely, just as disruptful without the deadly aftermath.

Imagine the chaos if Everything stopped working!

  5. Hi all, quick question for the boffins.....

What are the benefits / losses from using twin loop exhausts?

I'm not changing the system on my Zed, just wondering why they are used. I've spotted them on standard cars (mainly hondas) and also seen them in the aftermarket world.

    P.S Happy Easter :D

  6.

    Cheers!

Ive actually scoured some new ones from the US really cheap, i just need to actually take some time to have a proper look before i buy anything

Can I ask where u got them from?

I believe I'm having the same sort of issue. My Z wouldn't start due to a bad earth, so fixed it with a new earth cable now I'm having a very rough idle with the cel light blinking when I rev the car. Feels like it's misfiring and the sound from the exhaust is totally different from normal. Anyone know if this is a coil pack problem???

I ended up getting them from my local factors at about £80 each, they were cheaper from the US but the fault developed into a full time miss fire so i couldn't wait weeks unfortunately

  7. Thanks! Im useless at this haha.

I would highly recommend getting down to a race meet, i work with a driver but im sure everyone was free to walk around the pits and look at all the creations.

The racing was good too considering its basically an oval, overtaking on opposite lock is always fun to watch 😊

  8. So i went to a autograss race meeting yesterday in telford, loved it!

Theres so much engineering and effort involved in creating some of those cars.

Two bike engines in a space frame with some expensive suspension components and a seat!

I was impressed to say the least, not to mention some of the juniors in class 1. 10 year olds drifting around in a gutted out yaris!

Anybody on here been to or involved in autograss?

  9. Unlikely a coil pack will give you ABS.VDS warnings a Bad earth may cause all 3 warning codes though. that's where I would start but I have had earth issues before

What problems did you have? And how did you trace it?

Hmmm i will have to check that out, poor main battery earth?

Or one of the many attached to various locations in the car ?

  11. What warning code you getting? If it's multi cylinder misfire it is more likely a cam position sensor not a coil pack :)

    Here's the whole story bud.....

Hi all, I have a 2002 JDM import and my EML / VCD and slip light are making an apperence every now and then.

Plugged it into the snap-on modus in work and got the following

P0350- Ignition coil primary circuit problem. (In engine managment)

C1109- battery voltage out of range. ( in ABS)

C1130- Engine 1 fuel cut system fault (in ABS)

Obviously there is a problem with one of the coils, but as the problem isn't constant (yet) I can't pin point exactly which one is at fault. I haven't got the cash to splash out on all 6 coils at the moment.

My question is, will the faulty coil bring up faults in the ABS/ VDS system? I've drop tested the battery and tested the altanator charging rate etc and that's all fine. All 3 lights come on symbultainiously, cycle the ignition and only the EML remains (until I reset it with a scanner)

Any pointers will be much appreciated!

  12. I had a coil pack break down (physically not emotionally) on me recently.

It's easy to diagnose which one is playing up by unplugging them one at a time - unplug a 'good' one and the idle drops. Unplugging the dodgy one has no effect (assuming you're testing while its misfiring).

Chris (Keyser) stepped up and saved the day with a used one, but I also bought another from him to keep as a spare

I wish this was the case with mine mate!

I haven't felt the missfire at all, it runs and drives perfectly at the moment and the fault is very intermittent (for now) i just don't like the idea of driving it with the lights on 👎ðŸ»
