  1. Ive had this problem in work with a range rover and more recently a passat. Its possible to get the door cards off although it's difficult to do it without breaking anything!

Be prepared for alot of swearing and frustration.

    Good luck!

  2. Its pretty straight forward really, I had the bumper off to do my lights so getting the cables through the grommet and into the boot was easy but I can imagine that bit to be fiddly if the bumper was fully attached, you might need to take a few bolts and clips off to get some access.

Other that that it's just the yellow video cable to the back of the head unit, tap the power cable into the reversing light power cable and the earth to a decent earthing point and run another cable from the reversing trigger on the back of the head unit to the reversing light power cable.

There's a good guide on here somwere, very detailed and pictured.

I've worked with cars for the last 10 years and that's the 1st time a blown reversing light fuse has prevented a car from starting!

Your always learning in this game haha.

  3. I recently bought a reversing camera from eBay that fits in as one of the umber plate lights, fitted it at the same time as fitting some car lab LED rear lights in the bumper.

At some point ( probably in running the cables to the back of the head unit) I must have shorted out the reversing trigger and popped the reversing light fuse. This was my fault for trying to test the camera before having all the cables secured and connected but anyway this resulted in the car not starting!

Just a heads up to anyone who plans on fitting a camera as it took me a while to trace the fault and work out what a massive *#+€#*% I had been.

  4. Obviously it wouldn't pass the emissions test with de-cats fitted but if by some magic it did, and the de cats look like sports cats or at least thicker than the rest of the pipe work than there is no way to tell whats inside.
Obviously if its just been cut out and a piece of straight pipe welded in then its a fail. Good luck!

  5. I've got some replacement window motor brushes and a double din adapt or to replace in the next few days and I thought I might spruse up the interior a bit with some vynal wrap whilst I've got its stripped down!

Has anyone got any pics of custom interiors as I'm struggling to imagine what it would look like in different colours?

  6. I bought my Zed with T1 sports on, I've got a spare set of wheels knocking about so I might get a decent set in the new year if these kumho's try and kill me!

The T1ns are comfortable but I don't rate them in the wet.

  7. So it's more a case of the car being suited to the tyre than just the quality of the tyre?

I never really thought of it in that way but it's a good point. Bit late now as I've bought kumho's! If I find myself wallowing around bends and struggling for traction then I'll be swapping them out for the MPSS.

What's your views on the Toyo proxys?
