  1. Hehe I have a few more here, but I daren't put them up otherwise I'll be hunted down by a posse of irate zedders! Do it! I cant be the only one caught on camera looking like a spitting image puppet.......If nothing else its a good excuse to drive like the wind as we all chase after you to stick that camera somewhere you wont be able to press the shutter button.......
  2. Omg Steve! I am so going to get you back for those pics one day lol. Can't believe how gormless I look lmao. :-))
  3. Another hurrah for Niki and Mark, you made a tough job seem easy sorting all this out. Laura and I would just like to thank yourselves and everyone else for making us feel welcome as new members. It was our genuine pleasure to be a lead car only wish we could have seen the faces of all the people in the villages we rumbled through apparently it was rather amusing lol. We had a ball thanks again one and all, hopefully see you all again later this year somewhere.
  4. Well worked until 9pm last night then a quick turn around swapped with a colleague, started at 6 a.m to finish fot 2pm. The things I do......lol. Looking forward to meeting some new folks. See you all this evening.
  5. Sorry pal no idea on the code, hopefully some other guys and gals on here maybe able to help with that. I'd definitely do your research when it comes to a solid state clutch. If you aske it's a bad idea. Consider the state of the gearbox now and that's with a forgiving DMF. From what I know they aren't the strongest box's and the sincro's are are made from candyfloss. Not sure if there's a box conversion to something like a skyline box that are bomb proof and you could put 600bhp through them and they keep ticking. Keep us updated on how you get on and what you find out. Start with the oil change and Moly slip, it may get you a little more life out of it. It does sound more like you have a nosey release bearing and sincro's that are giving up the ghost. Z clutch pedals are I believe renowned for been high. Best of luck with it all.
  6. I'm afraid there is more questions than answers to start with pal. 1. Does the car have service history. 2. When was oils last changed in the gearbox and what type. 3. Clutch test it! Hand brake on select third gear. Lift clutch if she starts to stale without your clutch coming all the way up the clutch plate it fine. 4. If you feel a rumbling under the clutch pedal, that can be am indication of the flywheel starting to go. 5. Have you tried a clutch fluid change and bleed. Could help. When you lift the clutch is it a wering sound at the clutch bight point if so that will be the release bearing. They all do this as they reach certain age/use. I have an 08 hr with 63k on and mine is a little noisy. I did an oil change with OEM oil and added Moly slip and ot helps a lot. However I didn't have any crunching, just notchy when cold. Hope this helps.
  7. as above good advice. Just done mine with Moly slip added to the OEM oil in the gearbox only! Made a noticeable difference. Got ot from the guys at CMS.
  8. Morning all, Can't search the word pit on here so just asking the question instead. Any one in West Yorkshire know off any place hiring out either inspection pits or 4 post lifts. Cheers Matt
  9. Cheer chaps appreciate the response. In the end I went with the logic that they mount on wheel nuts and replace wheel nuts fir mounting them so torqued to same as wheel nuts.
  10. May sound like a stupid question! I'm full of them ;-) Anyone have an idea what the torque setting for wheel spacer mounting nuts are please. I assume they are higher than what the wheel nut torque setting is. Thanks in advance
  11. Blazemaguire and Commander thanks both for shedding some sense and more to the point tried and tested info. People should realise that been a genuine part doesn't always mean good standard. Look at VW and now Mitsi that have cut corners and fit bad parts. With the multiple issues I have heard about sincro gearbox problems and bellow spec oil gallery gaskets on the Z. I wouldn't pit all my faith in everything Nissan knocks out part wise. That said I love the Z to bits, it's character it addictive. Thanks again for sharing your experience.
  12. that's just the company I'm looking at mate at £65 for one. Im not a cheap skate just hate been bent over by money grabbing companies. It's such a basic part there is no need for such a inflated profit margin. Rant over lol, love itif you posted that on the technical section on my post on there. It seems there are a lot of Z owners been ripped off, that need the encouragement from chaps like you that have tried and tested these type of parts. Many thanks for the valuable info.
  13. Thanks for the input. I can understand your concerns regarding a failure. looking at the construction however, I think it's highly unlikely even if the bearing failed that the wheel would fly off down the road without you.I have since posting this spoken to a fellow engineer, who said he had used the aftermarket bearings from this company and was more than happy with the quality and performance. With a two year warranty that is a year longer than any others iv seen, if they offer one at all. They must have some faith in the standard of the part. I think I will have to be the the Guinea pig by the looks and hopefully report back, and save a lot more Z owners from been ripped off.
  14. Can order here: http://www.torqen.uk/350z/wheels-accessories/hubs/955-350z-nissan-oem-front-wheel-bearing-hub-assembly-40202-al56c.html Thanks appreciated, it's certainly a little bit better on price I will consider that as an option.
  15. OP: The bearing assy in your ebay listing is an after market unit and t CMS have OEM genuine Nissan in stock but I guess that you already know that and are looking for a cheaper option. Alex. I have looked at them yes cheers. At the price they are asking for that one item it should make a 350z a 200k super car lol. If I had to do all four corners at that price it would be a 9th of what I payed for the car. Call me a tight Yorkshire man but just doesn't make sense.
  16. Thanks Alex, I assume when you say for good reason your referring to going beyond taking 4 bolts out it becomes a ball ache to do it any other way. I'll pm you to find out your price if thats how it's done. Thanks Ken, OP: The bearing assy in your ebay listing is an after market unit and that is the reason that it is cheap, and this is the only way that they come with the hub and abs pick up ring. The hub assy comes as a unit for very good reasons. Alex.
  17. Cheers iv asked the question, will have to see if they get anywhere near the eBay item price. I take it you have had no experience with those ones.
  18. Been told to try you guys for a front wheel bearing for a 2008 HR. How much either for full assembly or just bearing. Regards Matt
  19. Is that complete hub and bearing assembly or just bearing ken. I wouldn't want used just new items of either.
  20. Morning all, Just a quick one really if you don't mind indulging! My front left wheel bearing has started to grumble. So on to the Web I went and looked at some sellers on here and the usual eBay hunt. I was gob smacked to see a price even though it includes the hub assey. At £200 pluss it just seems stupid for what is a major basic part. Found this on eBayhttp://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/111688884843 Has anyone tried these? The difference in price is huge but even if it only lasted the 2 year warranty at that price you could replace it almost three times for the price of one from other places. Can't believe the quality would be that much inferior. Finally has anyone just change the bearing itself? If so do you have a bearing part number for one that fits the hub on a 2008 HR. Although I believe there all the same, correct me by all means if Im wrong. Thanks for taking the time to read and reply in advance.

    350z prices

My advice is hang in there and be patient. I got my 2008 HR full Gt pack, 60k full service history. For 9k. It's immaculate for its age. But like you while looking for it, I found it difficult to find people not asking silly money for rubbish. I consider to have been very lucky, touch wood. I will say again patience is the key and you get what you pay for.
  22. Thanks guys theres plenty to add to the planning board there. ;-)
