  1. It all happened very quickly but yes it scared me more than anything else that has happened in my life. Iv been driving round a 1.2 fiat 500 hire car for the last week and I'm absolutely hating every minute of it
  2. Thanks guys, I'm still very shaken by it, just hoping my insurance aren't going to be massive (======3 about it and offer me £3k or something. Iv got a very relieved and happy girlfriend and family and I'm just glad we get to spend Christmas together.
  3. Unfortunately, this was my post. I am absolutely gutted that I have ruined my dream car, however, I am happy I got to walk away from the situation without seriously injuring myself. It happened whilst driving in a straight line too which baffles me really, can't do anything now except just perve on everyone else's zeds until the time is right to get another for myself.... If the missus allows it.
  4. Thanks again guys, I'll have a look at those. I don't min paying a bit extra for the right tool. Then iv got it for life then havnt I.
  5. Any particular brand/model that's worth looking at?
  6. Thanks mate I'll have a scroll through and have a dance tomorrow. Appreciate the speedy replies!
  7. The car or me? Yeah it lost power, similar to how my old corsa used to go when the turbo cut out. The pedal dance? Is that something that can reset the lights?
  8. On my way home today the Z Decided to have a jolt and then light up my dash to try and make me feel festive. ESP/Traction control and engine lights came on. After pulling over and turning it off and waiting for a while, the ESP/traction control light has gone out, however the engine light is still on. No difference in how it drives now, but I'm just wondering if this has happened to anyone else or something similar?
  9. Bought one last night from asda for £6, left it in overnight and it worked a treat.
  10. Missus was watching last night and paused it for me and called me downstairs, shes a good cookie. I managed the rest of the episode too, good TV...
  11. Thought I'd raise this deal as we all love cars. So... on humblebundle.com you pay what you want for the games and get the codes to redeem through steam. All proceeds go to charity so its a few awesome games and helping others out too. Win win.
  12. Just seen in whilst looking through a price list to get mine valeted. Shes looking pretty now she has her winter wax on
  13. Haha! Previous to my titan I had a 750ti which was a tiny little thing despite actually being a pretty good card for the money... Bought the titan and it is what is says. Its massive. There's not a lot of clearance in my case, but I could have been stung! So +1 for checking it fits first!
  14. Ricey, thankyou so much, I didn't even consider that pathway. It makes sense to study alongside my current career and I can stay in the game and gain experience until the time comes to move on and hang the tools up. My workplace offer an 'accountability' role in the company where you take on a specific area and organise contractors, maintenance schedules, work orders, budgeting etc etc each summer, iv always turned my nose up at it because there is no financial gain to be had, however the experience might be exactly what I need to push on later in life.
  15. Greenland, thanks for summarising things there. It is to me a hobby/free time job thought at the moment, however, with some experience, this could open doors in the future, I don't expect to earn 80k doing it, and I earn more than enough to do what I want with my life at the moment. So I'll have a look Into things and see what is out there in the local area.
  16. I'm running a titan at the moment and it gobbles up everything I throw at it. Modded gtaV to hell and it was still getting 45-50fps on ultra settings
  17. Thanks for all the replies guys. Like I say its just something to keep my mind going and maybe fall as a backup plan at the moment. The problem is I am massively overpaid for my job. In the area I am earning around 8-10k more than the equivalent position at another company. Iv enjoyed working with numbers since I was a kid. And would actually find it fun in the evenings doing something like this, so the time for completion is irrelevant at the moment. Its just a thought I guess....
  18. Oh right that's definitely worth the investment then. Although I can't buy experience... If its something I can do in my part time for a small company then I would consider that too as I often find myself bored now I have completed my relevant nvqs and hncs etc.
  19. Its not really a case of wanting to, its just a failsafe if the business goes under or if I become too old and arthritic too carry on in the same industry. I love my job to be fair even though it's not glamorous at all. I just like having an escape plan. I was afraid you would say that it would take years...
  20. I havnt looked back since building my rig last year
  21. Hi all, I'm currently in a well paid job as an engineer. I'm the right side of 30 however I like to have an eye on the future as well as living in the moment. Iv always enjoyed working with numbers and I'm considering taking some accountancy qualifications in my free time just to keep my mind ticking and also to layout a plan in the future. There are some sage qualifications on groupon at the moment which seem a good deal, just wondering if anyone on here is already in the job and could tell me what I would need and if they are desired by companies etc. And if the studying is worth it, obviously the wages differ around the country but I don't want to put in a lot of time and effort to not have it repaid. Thanks.
  22. That might be the same one I saw a few weeks ago. Since I bought one iv only seen that one, I used to see hundreds before!

  24. It seems there will be a lot of running about for nothing, but I played skyrim without any fast travel so I'll dig my heels in for now and stick it out. Haha she sounds a keeper!
