  1. My car, a 2003 UK GT spec, has a blanked out button closest to the driver next to the heated seats switches. What option am I missing?

Think your missing the roof down button

My roof button is on my right, next to the steering wheel.

Not sure but on mine (import) it's a Snow/Power button.

    Probably the same as yours.

Only down side is, i keep knocking it onto snow when i stop at lights etc.

Pulls away slowly all the time.

Need to knock it into neutral and then switch it off.

Am i right in thinking that is only on automatics. Otherwise it is blank

    Ah, that might be it...

I never mentioned it was an automatic.

It has Traction control as well.

  4. The mirrors should be heated to from memory. The button nearest the drivers seat heats the bit you sit on only not the back rest. Turn it on, when it feels like you have soiled yourself it's done it's job 😄

    Thanks.

Is there a button for the mirrors too?

p.s this is great finding out all these things.

    lol

    Seriously?

Never even knew i had heated seats.

Shame it's not the mirrors if i'm honest.

    Winter mornings are a bummer.

    lol

    Which button does what?

  6. There's two small buttons next to the Snow/Power button.

I've no idea what they are for?

When i push them nothing happens at all (nothing i can see) lol

    Anyone know what they do?

One of them has a small design on it as well.

  7. Guy in my work claimed he got a 130mph car chase (in an old vectra) from the cops on a country road coming to work one morning.

He eventually pulled over (as he was getting bored).

When the cops approached the car they said " You should apply for the traffic cops the way you drive, you'd be perfect for the job"

Yeah , Yeah replied Davie I'm going to be late for work he said, so they gave him a police escort all the way there.

He's got a new story every time you meet him, I just agree and look amazed, he thinks i believe him.

He said last week his mate and him went to Vegas and his mate won £200.000 and offered to split it with him, but Dave declined as "that's just the way i roll"

    Guy's a complete Banger.

    lol

  8. I am not right up on things like this myself. I believe it is a part that is needed to fire the bulb.

I have seen it discussed on here, I thought someone with more knowledge would have replied :)

It's getting a service tomorrow and i've told the mechanic about it.

    He'll sort it (fingers crossed).

  9. Know, Google Maps (I use Android) is feckin awesome, even gives real time info and reroutes, I use the phone in the Deli and the van, but I like the Z to look factory inside, I tolerate the mess of cables in the vans but in the Z I like the clean install look... A 7" tablet install or carPC would be an obvious for me but between racing and having more projects than time it wont happen...

Whatever you do, post it up so we can see how I looks...

    Cheers...

Will do, just got it and have loads in mind.

It'll be a slow process but hopefully an enjoyable one.

  10. The Jap satnav/tv unit is useless here... I'v been through all this as my Z is full of useless cool stuff, like the compulink buttons above the mirror and toll tag, etc...

    Anyway...

The fix is to (sorry, you didnt say the year of yours, mine is an 05 so I now this works for that year),get a UK 05 X-Trail sat nav unit, you loose the TV but you can install a freeview box an hook it up to the AUX. Everyone says the screen is kack for TV/DVD playback so do you want to? For me yes but I'v not got to that yet, but the sat nav works no problem...

That said, my screen has went down, suspect a fuse but from reading, its behind the stereo so will be a day when I have time to rip out he console...

JDM''s are cool, nice one... Have fun with it...

Thanks mate, it's an 06 plate.

There's a pioneer system installed below it and that plays dvds, dunno whether to bother with the original, might just get a phone holder and use the gps system on the iphone.six and half a dozen

  11. Have done this many times, you can just about do it by turning the wheel and loosening the arch cover, but I take the wheel off for ease. Bumper can stay on!!

    Thanks mate.

That saves a lot of hassle.

Cheers Scott as well, is it just screws on the arch liner or those Torx fittings?
