Seem to be losing coolant somewhere but there's no visible leak?
I topped up the expansion tank yesterday and it's at low again.
Blown head gasket?
Hope not.
There's no smoke and it's running perfectly.
I topped it up when the engine was off.
Do you think that may be it?
Maybe just not topped it up enough.
(I hope).

Thanks for the replies.
You've gave me plenty options.
I'll get on it this week.
A service is top of the list.
Needs a new auxiliary belt too.

Also needed oil too.
I'm getting there slowly.
Thanks again.

I'm going to clean my car today and wondered what products to use on the roof.
A guy in work with a BMW soft top advised using Back to Black to restored the colour of the roof.
Thought I'd ask on here as well.
Also, is there a preferred cleaner to use on roofs?
I've never had a soft top before so this is all new to me.
Thanks.

The JDM satnav cannot be used here unfortunately! Get rid of it and put in the glove box instead - much more useful
Also Robert, which Dumbarton are you from? The Dumbarton outside of Glasgow, Dumbarton? If so, I'm probably your neighbour, that's where I stay lol!
Aye, the same Dumbarton.
I might have seen your car in Dumbarton East.
In fact i was clocking it the other day there.
Ha!!
p.s What glove box?
lol

Hi, just got my new Zed and it's an Import.
Everything's in Japanese.
Don't have a clue how to work it.
Is there a fix for it?
Also,do you put a disc in to operate the satnav?
Honestly don't have a clue, i could probably google it but it'll be easier explained on here.
Thanks in advance.

Hi mate, where are you based? I have used Autotrim in Plymouth. Maybe give them a call. He's done quite a few zed roof repairs. Really nice guys too
Thanks mate, I'm in Scotland though.
It's all sorted now anyway.
A little persuasion fixed it.

Nice one!

Read the original post and am I correct in thinking you're flicking the accelerator to turn the choke off?
-
Thanks very much juggalo.
I've sent this to my friend.
He'll try that tomorrow.
Much appreciated.

I think there's three motors that control the roof mechanism.
Two in the boot - You'll have to strip out the trim to get to them, and one inside the car on the "parcel shelf" bit.
First thing would be to ensure they're all running. If not, check the relay and fuse
-
Yes.
The roof is open.
It's not closing.
-
Another silly question - you HAVE unclipped the catch inside haven't you?
-
Yeah and no.
Nothing is happening at all.
-
Silly question but I take it you have your foot hard on the brake. Also are the seats moving.
-
We've tried that.
Nothing is happening at all.
-
The joints and runners can get very stiff if not used regularily. Assuming the Tardis ( back section) is slightly open then get your mate to apply light pressure while you try to make it close again. Opening and closing should free it. Same with the roof. Make sure you run the engine when doing it, you dont want a flat battery.
-
Yes.
Roof was fine.
Opened/ closed it a couple of times.
-
Probably a silly question, but did the roof work okay yesterday when you tested the car?
-
Give the joints a good going over with silicon spray. Also give it a little help to get it moving. They can be a pain but usually work in the end.
How do i go about that if i cant get it to open?
Is there a manual way of closing the roof?
Looks as though there's something jammed the way the rooflid is sitting, it's uneven.
Oh and thanks for the tip, just need to know how to do it.

Sorry for posting another thread about this, but i just bought the car yesterday and can't even drive it!
It's in my friends garage at the moment.
The problem is when i went to close the roof the back section opened (very slightly) and then stopped.
It was making noises as if it was trying.
The upshot of it is that the rood is still down and the "hatch" at the back is still slightly open at one side.
When i press the button nothing at all is happening now.
I'm totally depressed as i can't get out in my new car (2006 Roadster).
I'll be on here a lot asking stupid questions (like last night when i couldn't get the key out the ignition).
My car needs a little tlc (small tear in roof and some interior work required).
I'm hoping i don't annoy anyone with these questions, but I'm really looking forward to getting to work on it.
Thanks.
Robert.
p.s Admin can you delete last nights "help" thread.
Thanks.

Hi
in 350Z General
also check to make sure the oil pressure gauge reads between minimum and max on the display, with circa 30psi difference between warm idle and 6th cruising speed so ie 15psi and 30psi in 6th.
tyre and brake wear, bitting point of the clutch. check each gear goes in smooth while engine off and not using the clutch.
