  1. Hi guys just installed the stillen gen 3 intake. booked it for a tune on the 21st .The only problem is my check engine light is on any idea why ? The car seems to be driving fine . Could the maf sensors need cleaning ? If so what do i clean them with ? Thanks in advance

  2. I removed my boot plastics last night and still no luck! I think the noise is coming form the boot catch mechanism, i reckon it's moving up and down whilst driving and is causing the noise. My car is booked in for it's first service at Nissan next month so they are going to look in to it then.

Fingers crossed they will fix it let me know what the cause is if they find it. Ah I dont take mine to nissan anymore even though it would be free servicing. After mods and a tune I dont like the fact they dont even put fully synthetic engine oil in 👎

  3. I'm sure the noise on mine is coming from the boot lid, somedays it's not to bad and other days it's worse, really frustrating! I think taking out the boot lid weight may have worsened it so i may put it back in. I have put foam around the boot to stop any movement from the area around the sub but to no avail. I need to also sort out the boot lid openers by doing doing the penny trick as the boot lid now fails to open at a single press of the button, the weight removal method only worked for a brief amount of time. The car isnt even a year old!

No luck! still making noises from the seat and somewhere in the boot.My car is only 1.5yrs old haha great cars just abit plastic inside lol . Oh and i removed my boot weight to and had the same problem with it opening took it into nissan and the moved the position of the springy things been fine since ....

I removed the rear sub all the foam bits and tools from the back to test and its still doing it ? Any ideas ?

  7. Hi guys ive got a 2015 370z nismo which has a steering dampener in front of the rad. Does anyone know what actual benifit this has? Or wpuld it be safe to remove it and save weight at the front and also will allow me to install a oil cooler without modifications i presume ?

  8. 1. Why are you changing brake discs? If they are worn, fair enough, if not keep what you have, they are good. M standard setup with Carbon Lorraine pads felt like it was lifting the rear wheels off the ground under heavy braking, astonishing.

    2. Braided lines are a must, they do improve performance as the brake pedal is more immediate.

    3. Good fluid and pads are more important than discs as these are more likely to compromise performance.

Discs are about dead 1mm on the limit . already have ds2500 pads and moutul 660 fluid . So just thought might aswell upgrade the discs as the oem ones arnt much cheaper than dba ones

  9. Thanks for the top info guys as always . I'll go with the dba t3's . Jez at Horsham Developments has contacted goodridge uk about the brake lines and they are willing to help out and develop a set for my car for the same cost .

Whats everones opinion on braided lines much difference ? Do you gain stopping power or is it just feel that improves?

  10. I find oem

Brakes on my 370 great for road and occasional track day with some good pads

Save your money mate put it towards v power it's creeping back up lol

Lol yeah i am pleased with my stopping power already tbh just have ds2500 pads in and 660 fluid works great. may just go for the sigle piece dba rotors since their isnt much price difference worth giving them a shot .

  11. The answer to your question is NO.

    And to expand.

When would you notice the difference in unsprung weight ? so not much point unless you are a track day warrior running a TT set up.

Falling for the sales hype i guess 😄 they all say makes they make the front end come to life ie turn in fatster , shorter stopping and better acceleration lol. Track the car 3 to 4 times a year so not really a warrior either just thought it might be worth the extra money since im due new ones .

  12. So im about due some new front discs. Befor i purchase anything i was hoping for some info on light weight floating discs. Ive been looking at the z1motorsport ones whoch claim to be 10lbs lighter than stock fronts each and the rears 5lbs lighter each so that would save 30lbs on unsprung mass in total which im guessing would make a good difference all round ? Anyone using anything similar and had positive effects ? The cost would be around £1200 from z1(sale price on front discs) after shipping and tax would it be money well spent?

  13. Yeah i have the receipt for the tyres with the date although i think with out proof of milage it will still be to risky fighting the case. think i will just take the driving course and sit in a classroom for a few hours never know might learn something ..... Like to bed my tires in haha.

I totally agree. In my (much) younger days I went to court more times then I can remember to try and contest motoring offenses and every single time the magistrate just looks at you like something they have stepped in and takes the police officers word as the truth. They then 9 times out of 10 give you a much much harsher penalty then had you just accepted the original 3 points. Classic example being when the 100 year old senile magistrate tried to give me 10 points for doing 71 in a 60 on a deserted road in the middle of nowhere. It was only after much intervention from the Clerk that they reduced it to 5 points and a hefty fine. I wish id had just accepted the 3 points & £60 fine.

If you can do the driving awareness course do it. I did one last year. It was a hell of a long 4 hours with the teachers being very patronising towards you. They use all sorts of strange arguments and case examples to try and prove their point. Some people on my course tried to point out some inconsistencies with their arguments and got shot straight down as the teachers just dont accept anyone else might be correct. After 4 hours I walked away only having learnt 2 things. 1) Pigeons dont fly when its foggy (i kid you not) and 2) Dual carriageways can be more than 2 lanes each way. However, I could clearly see other people on the course did learn a lot of stuff which they didnt already know.

See learnt something new already pigeons dont fly when its foggy 😂😂😂 looks like its the driving course for me .

  15. Well the cars in good order new mpss on and i wasnt racing around which is why i think their was oil or diesel on the floor . iv had the car on the track a few times a year so i like to think i sort of know when im going to quick . i had the ecutek traction controlon which does allow for a little slip in comparison to the basic one. Likeyou say though carnt really prove anythink so just have to take the punishment
