  1. I'll use this opportunity to push some of my own musical tastes on you all. Looking forward to see if any of you listen to the same bands as me.

    - Chromatics - Mask

    - Polica - Lime Habit

You'll note not a single Xmas one between them

  2. Absolutely. I honestly don't take offers seriously from people who haven't even seen what you're selling in the flesh - I might be wrong, it's almost always people looking to flip what you're selling for profit as opposed to someone looking for the best for what they can budget for.

I haven't previously thought much about the psychology of it, but It takes longer for genuine buyers to find what you're selling because they have a lot of ground to cover with regards to ensuring the vehicle isn't a rotbox, stolen, dangerous, poorly maintained etc.

Chancers & flippers actively look for things to low-ball - for them, it's a numbers game, the more low-ball offers they get out in a day the more chance of hooking a desperate sucker there is. Would I being a lazy stereotyper to allude than maybe these kind of folks don't have a regular paying vocation? (i.e. a job)

That's maybe why there seems to be more arseholes offering peanuts for your car than genuine sellers.

  3. Rant on mate!

It's par for the course in this country, the missus tried to sell her old Micra for £750, was worth that all day long, she had no end of chancers sending messages with nary a hello, just a figure we'll below what she was asking for. She eventually sold it for full asking but she had to wait for it.

I got the same to a lesser extent when I sold the old Z, but as I'm a bit less... Friendly, shall we say than the other half I didn't entertain any shite.

If you're after a reason for it, blame the dog eat dog world of everyone for themselves. Del Boy might have been a cheeky geezer with a heart of gold but this worlds full of arseholes who would sooner slit your throat that pay anything near the asking price for something.

  4. It's all about pronunciation and where you come from, for example if you are in the habit of dropping the H then you would say "in an hour" or I'm staying at an hotel" but you wouldn't say an Hare or an Habitat because you wouldn't drop the H. Like I say, this is quite a regional thing and there are individual variations. Like I would use an in front of Hotel, hour but not in front of house. It's a similar thing with words beginning with U, it's "a Unicorn" but its also "an unbelievable event" or "an umbrella".

Having said all that, if you are writing say on a forum then you should not drop the H and use the correct written grammar, a hotel. etc.

  5. Lot of chatter in Japan that the optional 3.0 TT engine in this will make it into the next Fairlady Z incarnation (no pun intended). Nissan can't ignore the efficiency of usingTurbo's in their sports cars anymore so the NA route is looking decidedly endangered.

I personally think this engine in a two-seater coupe would be fantastic. 475 N.m of Torque in a lighter body would have this thing competing with the GT-R performance-wise which is why some people think it won't happen.

  6. The Zed does attract this kind of shite, but no more than any other Japanese sportscar with a reputation. I once got raped by a Carerra 4 in my old DE and it wasn't even close. I took note of the guys license plate in case I ever saw him again and as luck would have it, I made a complete fool out of him with the 380.

Cautionary tale about identifying base models but racing unicorns.
