  1. You'd need to get it on a dyno with other 350z to know how their cars compare. It could just be the way that particular dyno is configured and all 350z could run low numbers for all we know. Pay one of the RevUp remappers a visit and see how your car compares on their rolling road before you start to worry.

  2. Just check both windows go up/down (pinch) when you open/close the doors and that theres no knocking when you drive over uneven roads/dropped kerbs etc to rule out the common and pricey issues; failing window motors and banana arms. You'd be in a better position flagging them now than trying to warranty claim.

If you're happy with it go for it. You will get cheaper if you are prepared to travel or buy private, but everyones circumstances are different.

(edit) get them to stick 12months MOT on it too!

  3. Hi Guys,

I am a newbie, searching for my first Z... Im negotiating price with this trade seller, if you could please shed some wisdom and thoughts on the below car : Is it worth the value?

    http://www.pistonhea...-tyres/6734718\

    Cheers!

Well its not Junction17 trader so thats a good start however:

"Huge History file,Nissan Folder/Manuals/Receipts for work done" does not mean Full Service History unless stated. And theres no mention of any kind of warranty which is usually the main benefit for paying a premium for main dealer prices.

As ATTAKZ says, open the bonnet and check if you have dual air boxes, if not you're getting the facelift interior/exterior without the facelift engine essentially. Use all of the above to haggle the price down

  4. @Sargara - Aluminium foil to flatten it would definitely work, but thought I'd mention that it would reduce the overall light output a bit. Also I'd personally opt for aluminium sheet rather than foil. Although it might be fine, I'd be worried that the foil would bend a bit from the solenoid movement.

^ True good point. Not sure why i said foil, I was planning on using some aluminium heat tape (used for ducting and the like). I couldnt get enough access via the bulb opening but if you are planning on baking the headlights open Ashenfox you wouldnt have this issue :)

I bought these Depo for <£400, wheres the 1 grand price tag coming from Ashenfox?

  5. Theres alot of work for little gain in my opinion. There are risks involved with baking open the headlight and resealing it correctly, not to mentioning modifying internals without damaging anything (they arent designed to for easy access/removal).

Unless you can get a pair of dummy headlights to mess around with and experiment on first, id say you would be better off just either: living with the "wrong" headlights, or stumping up for some correct ones in the first place.

The flaps are curved by the way to match the curvature of the glass lens so you cant turn them around as such. You would have to grind/cut them flat or (as i planned on doing) attach some aluminium foil over the the step to smooth it flat.

  6. It's hard to please Hodaka with headlight pics, I still havent been able to satisfy his exacting standards either

flat carpark, night-time, far enough away, non-coloured/brick wall thats smooth etc

Your eBay link doesnt seem to work though Scotzman, you have the facelift LEDs but your Item number links to pre-facelift headlights?

  7. thanks i'll keep searching

yeh i no lol but I've managed to get a pair for £500 so thought might as well give it a go

Bare in mind there are different versions of Recaro CS seats, the ones fitted to LandRovers and the likes are "Cross Sportster CS" with smaller bolsters:

Compared with "Sportster CS" types fitted to RenaultSports for example:

Either way for £500 its a bargain regardless which version

  8. I've found HR's have fallen a bit closer to Revups, but not much else has changed. DE's haven't moved in 4 years since i bought my first.

The demand for half-price tax keeps them desirable, depreciation free motoring ;)

  9. Pleased you're happy dude! Dont let Rocket Rabbit see you've bought cheap Chinese copies.

    End sarcasm

PMSL! I was thinking the same after reading that other topic.

RobPhoboS excellent write up, do you have any pics of how you have the car currently sitting? Also any chance you could do a current list of all your aftermarket suspension parts?
