Anyone managed to resolve this? My S5 connects but then disconnects after a few seconds. Googling finds the same issue with lots of cars and phones but as yet I can't find a fix.

Well I'm going with Petronas Syntium 5000 AV 5w30, so fingers crossed it won't cause any issues.

Fair do's It seems to me that most modern engines are specced to use 5W30 now, and they're like water when they're hot. What's your personal oil choice and why?

What makes you say that, what's wrong with Magnatec? I'm looking at which oil to use myself and Magnatec 5W30 A1 meets all the original specs in the handbook, whereas some of the other oils that get mentioned don't, e.g. Castrol Edge 5W30. Castrol website actually recommends Magnatec as a second choice for the HR engine. However it recommends Edge 0W30 as a first choice but that doesn't meet the original specs! It may be that the spec of more expensive oils is actually better but just different, but not being an oil rating system expert I don't know. The whole subject of engine oils is a nightmare nowadays. There are so many different ratings and specs mentioned that nobody knows what the hell to use, hence threads like this.

Me too Yours didn't happen to come from Southport did it? Regarding the beep, I've noticed mine doing it too, a few seconds after the engine is started. As others have said I guess it's the Bluetooth.

I've just bought my HR, coming from a 2010 Octavia vRS petrol DSG. I sold my Octy to my brother and knew I wanted to get a zed. I then test drove a 55 plate zed and was gutted. It just didn't feel quick like I though it was going to. To give the zed another chance, me and our kid then went to view 54 plate, and on the test drive he followed me in the Octavia. Second gear coming off a roundabout around 30mph, foot to the floor and the Octavia was right there up to 100mph (didn't go any faster), There was nothing in it. These two experiences put me off the zed until I decided to stop being an idiot and take the zed for what it is. It may not be be able to outrun modern hot hatches in a straight line, but that's not what the car is about. They drive brilliantly, handle well, put a smile on your face, and at the end of he day they are still fairly fast. I went for the HR for that bit of extra power and just take the car for what it is, and love it. On the subject of giant killers, I've beaten plenty of 'fast' cars around the Nurburgring in a Suzuki Swift Sport, including Ferraris and Porsches. Now THAT would be embarrassing

Thanks again for all the welcome messages guys. I've had a problem with my car already! Last night the clutch pedal started sinking half way to the floor before it did anything. A quick search of the forum and I find it's a common problem and slave cylinders are dodgy, but that changing the fluid can sometimes fix. Done that this morning and boom, sorted.
