  1. Indeed a heavier wheel with lower offset would have exactly the same effect. What you're looking for RobPhobo is a sensitivity analysis which you will probably find was performed by Nissan in development but would take a LOT of measurement, Calculation And Verification For An End User. No idea why my phone added caps to that.
  2. Cheap spacers with mismatched nut/tapers don't feel right as you torque them up, they don't 'nip' up. But they should not break a bolt unless they are super cheap using chocolate bolts/nuts. Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk
  3. Not getting your point, you're either interested in your cars handling or not. If not, don't bother commenting?
  4. Not an import no, uk 2010 car. Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk
  5. Noticed another thing tonight, seems far more prone to wheel hop when it spins. Nice smooth slide away from a junction normally, tramp tramp tramp away with the spacersa. Frustrating. Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk
  6. Yup. The rot inertia increase is tiny but the increased scrub is very noticeable.
  7. Key to this, I've found, is lube up the piston, insert nice and straight and twist as it goes in.
  8. Less twitchy does not equal better IMO. It's slower, less agile. Feels like my 90s 4wd Celica.
  9. It does fell more predictable, and more planted, just along with that it feels less responsive and nervous I guess. Bigger. Dead in the middle with not as much self centering on the steering.
  10. So I wanted to see how the addition would affect this car, previously on another car it killed the handling and made it twitchy under braking and acceleration. So I fitted these and the initial feel isn't as bad but it's still a pretty large change in feel. Feels less taut, slower and a little more predictable in oversteer. No change to braking/accel over bumps but steering in general feels more dead. Not sure in going to keep them, despite the improvement in looks. Feel like it's destroyed the feeling the car was designed to have.
  11. Anyone breaking one? Changed one for a sat-nav version? I would like one to disassemble so I don't have to strip my existing one to do a tablet fit. What ya got?
  12. No I said i never failed to get it mirrored Be that with admiral, sky, Chaucer, tesco - all do it, or have when I asked.
  13. Risk isn't only in driving a car, a chunk of the risk is theft and fire. But I've never failed to get by ncb mirrored onto my second policy, across a number of insurers.
  14. My favourite phrase from a good Glaswegian friend of mine was "got it for a price a scot would call reasonable", I.e. free. I'd be happy to pay 50 plus postage for a back box! Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk
  15. On the contrary I've been insured by sky for about 8 years over 3 cars. Never a problem, never a particularly hiked renewal.
  16. Apparently they do but I don't want to make my costs higher... So no... Worthless. I will save you the effort of scrapping it if you post it to me at my cost!
  17. Haha I see my request damped the enthusiasm!
  18. Curious, designers generally avoid air springs because their performance changes with the rapidly changing temperature of the air (both changes in ambient and changes during the stroke). Will have to read into how this is overcome.
  19. I have to admit there's some very sharp turns and abrupt merging in the stock exhaust.
  20. XL isn't actually that irrelevant. XL tyres have a higher load index for a given tyre size. They achieve this with stiffer sidewalls and heavier casing. This can have pretty large effects on the tyre performance. I had to switch to xl on my runaround because local potholes kept damaging sidewalls and the non xl were very sloppy under cornering (lots of sidewall flex before I got a response - like driving with a torsion spring in the steering column). Having switched to xl it's now faster to respond but more rough and loud ride, though less likely to flat. Stick with oem recommended load rating where possible.
  21. Out of curiosity, why would you want to other than aesthetics?
