I have noticed a fumey smell in the cabin and it's giving my a headache after about 20 mins of driving! Does anybody have any clue what this might be? I've just had it back from getting a a clutch and flywheel change.

So I've just got my zed back from my mechanic, he's fitted the new excedy clutch and light fly (from clarks motorsport), and i must admit it does seems to pickup quicker and feels pretty good but i can definitely notice the chatter a lot. Especially when idle it seems to rattle slightly, that's normal i assume? and it does sound like it grinds a bit in some revs. I've also had him change the trannie fluid with the molyslip, diff oil and sparks... 6th gear seems to be a pain to get into now for some reason... and not sure why that is... could that be the new clutch? Also, i have noticed the voltage gauge stays the same when the engine on, sitting at the digit between 12 and the last one 16. That used to fluctuate before i think? Also, i have noticed that when i start it up, i used to be able to start it without applying any pressure to accelerator, however now when i try to do that it seems to die and cutout when revs drop back down.

Had plenty of oil in it, driving home, engine switched off and oil light came on when restarted and huge knocking noise... sounded like go kart when you went on the throttle... heartbreaking. Sent it to garage and had the engine out to which the main bearings are unbelievably thin and know the con rods damaged as the new bearings didn't need any pressure to get fitted on... :L Sorry new to all of this forum stuff haha, whats zed shed? I would love to make it into project but simply do not have the time or money atm. So you guys think it would be wise to search breakers for a VQ engine and find a quote for Horsham developments (fairly local and you all seem to recommend it) to see how much they'd charge to put it in? Forged internals just seems outlandish cost wise, especially how much the cars valued at. You mean the engine switched off on it's own like cut out or did you turn it off?

This might be a daft question to ask but..... I believe the rays are 18.8 (front) and 18.8.5 (rear) is there any way to know which is which while on the car is there any markings? just want to double check tyre guy fitted them back on the right way as he said he struggled with putting the tyres on them... just thinking maybe he tried putting the tyres on the wrong wheels ie: the 225s on the 18.8.5 ?

TBH i cancelled the order and have been refunded from the seller, but only because of time constraints i need the part asap and i could not wait a few extra day's as the car is with my mechanic. In the end i settled for the light fly from Clarks Motorsport however the one's from USA you can get for about £200 all in after tax as you pay the tax before hand i have checked, but like i say due to time i decided to go with clarks! Just can't wait to get back on the road in this lovely weather.... although i still need to sort some paint work and refurb the wheels... next in the pipeline.

Well it is being shipped by express and it said estimated by tues. Sent the guy a message asking about this anyway if i has not sent it i can always get him to cancel it no biggie.

If i decide to sell the car, are people usually willing to pay a bit more when the clutch and fly is quite new? How much noisier is a light flywheel tried looking for some examples online cant find any videos... i want some kind of idea how it will sound

I hear you guys but it's just the cash at the mo is a bit low! lol I'm not sure what to do.

How can you tell a flywheel is gone? I have taken the clutch out to replace and I'm not really sure if I need to change the flywheel too? Should mention that it was all from factory under there by the looks of it. Car has done 71k.
