  1. £125,000 for 50 extra bhp and still way too heavy? Give me the stock car, £10,000 of mods (720 bhp) and £40K for other things.
  2. £7,000 and £18,500. Both great recent buys.
  3. I didn't drive it but there was an Audi TT in Colorado with 350 bhp both ends of the car! 700 bhp and 4WD hairdresser's car!! Used to scare and then beat Porsche turbos.
  4. Do the deal, if it feels right.
  5. Was nice to meet you, interesting to see the difference between a 350 and 370.
  6. Mansfield and Rainworth? I have a house near there, let's do a meet!
  7. Many of us car lovers have a passion for the 2 wheel variety of road burning. I have just been thinking of the bike I rode last year in Texas. (Photo available). ''502/502/502'' it was called. 502 cubic inches. 502 bhp. 502 kgs dry. Yup, 7.4 litres of bike. 2 speed automatic (plus reverse). Geared for 150 mph in first gear. Mental. Yet on You Tube there is a 10.5 litre version with 640 bhp.
  8. Or you could fit a SC kit to it and have 350 bhp.
  9. It will certainly do you until the CTR arrives.
  10. One of mine was a 335D, mapped to 340 bhp and with a 318D badge on the back. Focus RS and Audi S3 pilots really couldn't work it out on one run i had.
  11. The high 7th cog helps a lot I think.
  12. JetSet, I would love to know how they took that engine from 130 to 225 bhp. Without engine mods, too? ! Huh? I shudder to think of the boost you'd need and the turbo lag.
  13. Buxton to Shoeburyness and back. Does that sound like decent mpg? Yes I was mainly trying to be good! :-)
  14. Hopefully that combination will mean a decent power curve.
  15. IE I believe, computers are really not my strength. Would a change to something else not alter tons of stuff I know and understand?
  16. Lexx, good shout. My Monaro had 400 bhp ( a place in Brackley, Northants gave it some more), similar thing to the VXR8. When you think the SC version has 580 bhp, too. 640 bhp with minor mods! PS The Dodge did 8, yes, EIGHT mpg.
  17. When does the CTR actually arrive for road testing?
  18. Sorry, I meant a ''word suggester'' like many sites have. It will suggest or even complete a word for you. I had to re-type over 60% of this post, eg. It's maddening. It has to put some people off posting.
  19. ''Sleepers'' are a big thing in the American car scene. Cars that look slow / go fast, essentially. It is easer to do out there, but anyone had a car like that here, to any extent? For me the best were, here; Megane 175 Cup. A 2.0 diesel with 205 bhp after a map, 310 lbs-ft and simply great handling and brakes. Used to stay with Civic Type R, etc. 50+ mpg. There; Dodge Dart. A 30 year old ugly car but with 500+ bhp from an OHV 7.5 litre stone age V8 with Holley Carbs the size of footballs and no external clues, even the skinny wheels were standard.
  20. Off the top of my head. Megane 175TD remapped by RS Leeds from 175 to 205. Economy improved. 335D and 535D by DMS from 286 to 340. Civic 2.2 TD. Celtic Tuning. 138 to 180. Better economy. Golf 130TD. 130 to 170. Better mpg. Shark Perf.
  21. The age old problem with adding huge power to a car is that then, other things need improving. I could twin turbo this 370Z...but far better to get a GTR..and remap that mildly.
  22. I loved the Honda NSX, facelift 6 speed 3.2 model. Just needed 50 bhp more. 276 just wasn't enough in that chassis.
  23. The Megane's engine is it's weak point. Low revving motor, compare to many. 275 bhp pretty much it's limit. Without very major work.
  24. Mercedes have really got the HH ground now. My mate has an A45AMG. A UK firm are already taking them from 360 to 414 bhp with just a remap and exhaust swap. That is incredible from 1991cc of 4 cylinders. 0-60 in 4.0 and 0-100 in 9.0. Epic. Ferrari Testarossa V12 performance.
