He just picked up a 15 plate M135, certainly not my cup of tea as they look exactly like a bog standard 1Series,  but it certainly ticked all the boxes for him. I b hope the next generation 370 Nismos come with a similar DSG box.

Not a chance it will get a dual clutch box if it ever comes out.

Slush boxes are getting better and better, and they are cheaper.

New M5 has ditched DCT, the new Alfa (m3 rival) has a slush box too.

  2. I think they will continue to drop for a while yet, then start to appreciate in value. The older cars are strong money when you consider what they cost new.

Like others have mentioned. If you can afford a gtr it's worth going for a newer one around £45k rather than a £30k car.

E92 M3 is an awesome track car, like, genuinely awesome but you need to be on track to make the magic happen. Torque and power is all up high, chassis really comes alive when driven at speed, stability and stuff in fast corners is mad - arguably as good or possibly better than mine but Ive changed everything and the M3's are pretty standard.
I was lucky enough to smash round Rockingham in a mates F10 M5 the other day and found the same x2, they are stunning on track but youd never get near it on the road :)

I agree 100%. E92 M3 is better track car than a road car.

I dont track my cars which is why I want a f80. Got a bit of interest in my Z so I've just started looking properly.

You get a lot for your cash with a f80. Cars with CCB's don't really sell for much more than cars without.

That's because the suspension is utterly dire on the F80. Horrible, horrible cars. I wouldn't drive one again if you paid me, they remain the only road car I've ever driven that I felt like I had zero control over what was actually happening.

I agree about the suspension. Its easily sorted with KW's though.

My my first drive put me off. Genuinely scared me. Aparantley the new software and suspension on the cp improves things massively.

Part of me likes the savage torque of the early cars though. They sound great with a mpe or Akra too.

Cheaper used cars are great value. Wish I could afford to spec a new cp but it's not a option at the moment.

How much are E92 335i? You can probably pick one up for not much more than £5k. Stick on a Quaife LSD, better dampers, remap it and your have something nearly as quick as the current M3 for less than £10k.

The tubros might blow, fuel pump need doing, and if you really want to track it your need an aftermarket oil cooler. But if your budget is £40k and the car £5k, that's a massive mod budget, and because the guys over the pound love the 335i your modding options are almost endless you can literally go nuts - last time I looked 4/5 years ago people were shooting for 600-700 WHP. Your probably still have change from your budget too!!

They will also do the day to day stuff fine, infotainment system is dated but plenty of aftermarket options, happy to sit at 150mph+ whilst your other half sleeps in passneger seat.

I also don't think they will deprecate that much more. I couldn't think of another petrol car to replace my old with, not without really upping the budget.

I love the current f80 m3. It's frustrating that BMW want so much for the carbon stick on bits to make the car look finished.

I agree about the 335i. Even as standard they feel quicker on the road than a e92 m3. I know they're not but its all top end in the old m3.

The current f80 has crazy low down torque. It's actually scary. They are unreal value aswell.

Bmw messed up offering huge discounts. Residuals got battered then they released the comp pack. IMO no other car comes close for the money.

It it will be the last m3 with RWD and DCT too. 4wd and slush box for the next one.

  6. Problem with a 90k mile car is that it will probably be over 110k when you come to sell. That’s always a issue when selling.

Having said that. Mine has done less than 40k miles and it’s getting more interest on m3 cutters than it is on here. Then again it’s a much busier forum than this these days.

Z’s are a strange car to buy and sell. Be patient and don’t rush.

  7. No longer for sale. Had to cancel 3 viewings due to weather. I've decided to wrap her up for the winter and I'll sell in spring.

I've decided to sell my 350z roadster. As it's just not getting enough use.

It's been my second car for 3 years. I was planning to keep long term and make a few subtle mods, but I haven't got the time at the moment. And the garage I've been using to store it is no longer available.

The details of the car are as follows.

    2005 350z GT Roadster

    39,000 miles

    UK car

    One previous owner

    Service history (mostly Nissan)

    10 months MOT

    Plate included

    Rays with Bridgestone tyres

    Brembo brakes

    Bose stereo

    Heated leather

The car is completely original apart from Z badges and a Nismo gt titanium shift knob which I fitted recently.

    https://www.torqen.uk/nissan/350z/body-styling/gear-knobs/455-350z-nismo-gt-titanium-shift-knob-32865-rn013.html

I also bought new Nissan floor mats from Tarmac in the recent group buy.

The car has had new discs and pads within the last 1000 miles and the banana arms were replaced a couple of months ago by Lockwood and greenwood. I used Oem rather than copy parts, supplied by Clark motorsports.

I have receipts for all of the above.

I'm including the plate in the sale. It seems a shame to remove it. It left the dealership with that reg and it still has the original dealer plates. The car previously belonged to a friend so I've known it from new and it seems like part of the car.

The car is in exceptional condition for its age. The rays haven't been refurbed. They have some kerb marks and bubbles due to their age. I never refurbed as I was planning to replace them with te37's.

The paint is in good condition. There are a few very light scratches that will easily polish out on the rear bumper. Thanks to a local garage I used for the last MOT. It was raining when I collected the car so I didn't notice them.

It must be one of the lowest mileage, lowest owner cars around.

Any question please feel free to ask.

Not looking for px or trade.

    Thanks

An E92 is a better car in every single way and as above, i had a 350z, vx220, i am not in slightest bit worried about dated looks and as for being slow i disagree and with an ess charger kit, it certainly wouldnt be that at 600+ bhp.

Fair play if you're going that route. A lot do which kinda backs up my point. As standard they're not quick for everyday use. They do feel slow on the road compared to modern, 4wd, turbo hatchbacks. Or even a tuned 335i. It's all at the top end.

Sound epic pic with a Akrapovic exhaust though and the DCT gearbox is awesome.

I enjoyed my my brief stint in one. Hammered me in company car tax though.

in three to five the Alfa will be a pile of rust:scare:

Nonsense. I had a Brera from new for 4 years in 2009. The most reliable, problem free new car I've ever had. Not the quickest but I loved it.

Build was excellent and the interior was stunning and rattle free.

Got compliments everyday. Even sat at traffic lights.

  10. E92 are starting to look very dated, especially inside.

Some nasty engine issues beginning to become common to add to the throttle actuator and other issues.

Biggest problem is is they feel slow on the road, they really need to be rev'd to access the performance. Great on track but not on the road.

M2's are currently shedding value like dandruff after the announcement of the engine change/upgrade next year. Look good value now.

  11. You will be more likely to pick up a bargain just before Xmas.

Winter is is the best time to buy a Z.

Like people have mentioned check the brakes. I had to replace pads and disks when I got mine and it wasn't cheap.

Compared to other performance cars in the same price range. Z's are reliable, easy to work on and cheap to maintain.

Something like a high mile e46 m3 is a big risk in comparison. In terms of potential costs.

    350z's are a underrated car.

  12. I'm not a fan of the 370z although I do like the nismo. It's not a big enough leap forward from the HR and to me it's not as pretty.

I love boxsters and caymans but I wouldn't buy one in that price range. If you did, I think you'd find yourself using your z less and less.

Personally id id take the 15k and your HR, and get a later Cayman or boxster. I don't think they will depreciate much either due to the awful 4 pots in the new cars.

    Im considering trading my XC60 D5 polestar and my Z for a f80 M3.

They will, they really will. The correct way to do a big conversion like that is to buy high-quality pieces (i.e. not replicas) and get a decent bodyshop to fit. Cheapy parts will fit like crap and look like crap, and will need a ton of bodywork to fit. Even the proper stuff will need a bit of jiggery pokery, which is why it's so important to find a decent bodyshop not just a cheap one.

Else you end up with a sack of sh*t like in the video. ;)

I was only joking mate. I thought you knew. It's god awful.
