Everything converted to blue ... except the green clock which apparently is a pain to swap colours on.
The clock is ridiculously simple to colour-change, mate!

10 years of Roller/Ice Hockey followed by 16 years working on steel decks that move means my knees are both shot at 34.
My advice if you can afford it is to go private. My experience of dealing with the NHS for my knees and my shoulder has left me disillusioned as to why I bother paying NI.
Snap. Many years of ice hockey have resulted in me having a left shoulder and a left knee that will cheerfully dislocate at a moment's notice...

I'm curious as to why you have to attempt this repair, mate...!

Walk away. Anything you do will only highlight it, and then it's got your name on it.
Sometimes it's better to walk away.
This! ^^^^^

The Bodyman's found he suffers from a sore leg when driving his 370 Roadster...

Epic! Who did the leather?
Some cowboy I found online....

That looks superb with the new wheels!!
Thanks They totally change the look of the car and, as I've just found out, they're a damn sight easier to clean as well!

I could write a huge long diatribe about the refurb "company" - indeed, I have done in a few places! - but suffice to say that I was explicitly told I should be happy with the lousy finish on my wheels as they were cheaper than other places!
If I conducted my business that way, I'd be very poor very quickly......

Quite a significant update to my old Zed...
I recently had the alloys refurbished as they were really letting the overall look down. I used a highly recommended local company but, sadly, the end result and their attitude towards me being unhappy about the finish were absolutely disgraceful! The wheels look like they'd been painted in Hammerite and were pretty much ruined!
I couldn't justify spending any more money on an old set of wheels so I decided to bite the bullet and just buy some brand new ones instead:
A set of Calibre CC-F wheels in gunmetal grey, 8.5x19 fronts and 10x19 rears! I got a set of custom badges made for the centres, to match the OEM badge on the nose panel, and that was all they needed.
Quite a sizeable difference to the appearance of the car, and I love 'em!
I'm still smarting about the refurb fiasco, but I'm very happy with the wheels I've ended up with because of it...

Hey, you can't blame me for trying!
God loves a trier...
This still going ? Maybe you could do me a little cheaper price for my buckets ?
This GB is as done as a done thing, I'm afraid! Whether or not there's another in the future is anyone's guess right now...

Would you be willing to do another group buy later this year for those of us who missed out or are new to the forum?
Erm.......

Unwrapped the seat today.
Thanks to Simon the seat looks good as new!
Happy to help, Andy

Si strikes again. Looks like another great job and one not without challenges.
Dashboards are an absolute beast of a job, Martin! Such complex and fiddly shapes... but it's heartening when they come out looking like this one has.

I can honestly say I've never seen one on the road yet...
Bloody impressive looking beast, that!

Even though this has nothing to do with Z cars, I thought I'd share the pictures anyway. I've been on with this job for a few days now and it's finally finished and I think it's a thing of beauty!
A Toyota Celica ST182 (Gen 5) dashboard trimmed in Ash Grey Andrew Muirhead leather. Eight separate pieces!
Patterning:
Old vinyl covering completely removed:
New leather fitted:
Tiring work...!!

Thanks guys
It might not be as flashy a job as most of the work I do, but it's still very satisfying to see something back to the way it's supposed to look. Although it was fairly difficult to actually do the repair without resorting to stripping the seat cover down completely!

Powerzed over near Bristol are pretty much the UK leading specialist for Z32 now.
There's also Lee Dent at LA Autos.
Both are very respected in the 300zx community.
I can personally vouch for both of these
Lee Dent's worked on my Z32 a couple of times now and I trust him implicitly. He's in Shrewsbury, which possibly isn't as far South as you'd like...
I've also been down to Powerzed a couple of times and what Jimmer doesn't know about these cars can be written on the back of a stamp... in permanent marker!
Either of those two guys would be my recommendation

As most of you will no doubt be aware, Andy James had a crash in his rather awesome supercharged 350Z As part of the crash, the airbag in his passenger seat deployed and caused a bit of damage.
The side panel was completely torn through, and even the airbag cover suffered a serious rip! For some bizarre reason, neither this forum nor Photobucket will let me upload the pictures of the damage, so you'll just have to take my word for it at the moment!
Now though, it looks like this:
Good as new! A brand new leather panel to replace the torn one and the uppermost strip in the airbag cover has been replaced with an undamaged one so everything looks like it did pre-crash.
Job jobbed.

This place just looks magnificent!

That is ridiculously red...!!
Looks the part now most of it is back in it's rightful place

Jack at Royal steering wheels does the flat bottom convertions. However that retrim looks awesome compared to the oem finish. Well done again Si. B)
Thanks, Mick I don't do all that reprofiling stuff, so Jack's definitely the chap for that job

Can I ask how much..?
£145 including speedy delivery back to the owner. Only top-notch leather is used on these.
I was wondering this too and can you do them with a flat bottom?
I don't do any reprofiling or reshaping, I'm afraid.... sorry
-
Ok... I like it!
That's a relief!

That steering wheel just looks so... boring...
I guess I'm just used to people wanting a bright colour for the stitching, rather than black. But it certainly feels infinitely nicer than the original BMW one - I'm surprised at how awful the leather was on it!
Glad you're happy with it, Dan
