  1. Now £5495 and much lower and I guess I will have to pay someone to take it off my hands
  2. Genuinely cannot believe how difficult this is proving to move on to a new owner, looking at autotrader it would seem the only way to sell is to practically give it away so thats what I will have to do! £5995 and pains me to do this!
  3. One and only reduction to £6495 - considering you wont need to spend a penny on it for quite some time has to be a bargain?! Now on autotrader
  4. A little bump for this cracking little car, perfect for sunny bank holiday weekends
  5. Sadly, and despite all my best instincts I need to find a new home for my almost untouched/unmodified 350 convertible with original unmarked 18" Rays. Whoever takes this one home will be getting a very lovingly cared for car, since I have owned it (approx 5 years) it has had a brand new mohair roof, full service of the roof mechanism, a milltek stainless steel exhaust, brand new oem gear knob, a colour matched Royal Leather steering wheel, carbon effect dipped door window covers, compression arm replacements (gearbox oil and replacement plugs also done at the time, new tyres (less than 1k on front and around 2 on rear plus 2x spare michelin pilot sports with approx 5mm tread to replace the rears when required. Sly at Kaizer has looked after this and confirmed everything is in perfect working order a P3 was done last year along with brake fluid, replacement slave cylinder and clutch line and full wheel alignment so only an oil change/filter required this year which I am happy to get done as was going to wait till MOT (Aug) but happy to do if asking price paid should this be required. Other than black door handles, zunsport grill, clear reflectors at the front and black badges (which probably do need to be freshened up now) the Zed is essentially unmodified, ICE has of course been upgraded to a Pioneer bluetooth unit with a reversing camera for good measure to avoid any nasty incidents! I would only point out a tiny little mark on the rear bumper under paintwork (approx 15mm) and a some small marks on the dash where a phone holder rubbed under the dash but otherwise I would describe as top end of excellent condition all round. Service history is as follows: P1 9340miles 22/9/06 P2 17557 12/3/07 P1 27866 28/9/07 P3 39024 06/06/08 P1 45503 11/811/08 M1 50018 18/5/09 P2 56958 16/6/10 Full 66853 27/10/11 Full 81567 31/07/13 I bought it here: Kaizer P1 plus Compresion Arms, Brake discs and Pads, and others mentioned 90127 25/4/14, also in 2014 Brake Fluid and New Battery Local Indi P1 91835 04/08/15 Local Indi P1 93454 08/04/16 Kaizer P3 94319 04/04/17 Bucketloads of paperwork as you would expect, original service book and lots of MOTs to validate all mileage, only ever run on Shell v-power since I bought it and as you can see only covered around 4.5k miles in 3 years since. Some summer photos and some taken to show updates inside, any questions welcome and of course test drive fine (me driving unless full payment up front of course!) Car is based just south of Canterbury (CT3) in Kent. Looking for £7750 (now reduced to £5995) and bear in mind £850 for a new roof and £500 for the new arms plus 2 replacement Michelin rears I would say a pretty reasonable asking?
  6. Having just picked up my beloved Z from the garage for its MOT I realised on looking at the previous MOT mileage how ridiculously few miles I am doing each year and despite lavishing yearly check ups and keeping everything in top condition how much I must be spending per mile of driving pleasure and whether it might be time to say goodbye to the Zed? To put some perspective I have driven 1800 miles in year one of ownership, 1450 in year two, 711 in year 3 and since the last MOT a grand total of 806 miles which seems utterly crazy even though I know I only use the car on great weather days (with the top down) and generally for 'shorter' journeys on summer evenings. I thought I would seek some opinions on whether I am the only one using my car so little or whether it really doesn't matter and I should keep enjoying her for the reasons I bought in the first place ie as a summer runabout only. I know only I know the answer but still interested on others' perspective?
  7. Def in my GT and heated too Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  8. These are mine in my GT, as mentioned heated/electric, as you say only as an option on the roadster I believe Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  9. If you have advised your insurance company already then i hate to say it but i suspect if you drive it on the old plate you are technically not insured, also ANPR will flag you as the old plate is no longer the registered plate for that vehicle/insurance combination. If you hadnt told the insurance company you would be fine as I believe you are ok for a few days to get new plates made up and put on. The conditions of applying to put the plate on the vehicle online do state: "Your registration number will be put on a vehicle straight away if you apply online." Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  10. Thanks both, likely going the Alex route instead (I know I'm lazy/incompetent mechanically!) Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  11. Close! P3 and slave £470 Tax £285 Tyres x2 £200 Insurance £210 £1155 total Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  12. Actually you are right it was just over £1100 in total (and only 6 months tax as it goes SORN for the winter) but I can't spin it anyway to sound like a bargain I did find the thread on repainting the existing ones but honestly diy is not for me and I would likely make a very bad mess! I will do as you suggest re the PMs as looking around trying to find 'new' spare arms seems difficult in the UK, ironically for around £50 I could get both arms from the US but suspect that option wouldn't work on a UK spec car! 13. Having spent a small fortune on my zed this week with a P3, slave cylinder replacement, new tyres and tax/insurance all clocking in around £1k in total which hurt a lot!! I realised that there is still a niggle that I have been meaning to sort for 3 years now which is to replace the wipers which have started to look very poorly with rust bubbles almost breaking through the paint now. I wouldn't know where to start but am guessing this is not an easy fix and being completely mechanically incompetent it is something I will need a garage etc. to do the actual work assuming it's even possible to obtain new wipers? Any advice or thoughts on potential costs and grief involved in sorting this issue? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  14. I do, and did today! Just not frequently enough if I consider the potential depreciation whilst sat on the drive, the tax, insurance and service costs which make me ask the question about keep or sell!
  15. It's not overly practical for family use if you know what I mean so when not ferrying the kids about as a taxi service or doing 250 motorway mile round trips to work in mine or my wife's main cars it comes out for a run is weekends and sunny days when the kids are off out only = not often!
  16. Having looked at the MOT mileage over the last 3 years of ownership and realising I am averaging less than 1k miles per year as its only summer use and yet it's treated like one of my children I am wondering whether my 06 (94k) gunmetal/orange interior 350 convertible needs a new home? I also have to weigh up what I have spent on her since taking ownership which includes a brand new roof, banana arms, full servicing, tidied up the interior with carbon dipped arm rests, resprayed front bumper, Pioneer head unit, new OEM gear knob etc and a new milltek exhaust, essentially I would like to think one of the nicest 'standard' 350 roadsters around (in my opinion of course I really have lost track of potential values as it seems the 350 is even more desirable now than it used to be so would really appreciate any suggestions to give me a chance to decide whether to keep her for another year or let some lucky person take ownership? Couple of pictures below to show how she looked, now clear reflectors and black handles but otherwise standard inside/out.
  17. Same as me, been on ctek charger for last few months, was sorned end of sept and will be taxed and ready to go in April 1st ready for a run. Have moved it up and down the drive once every week/10 days to make sure brakes etc don't bind up (I did forget to move it in November and def stuck for a few secs before moving ok thankfully!) also as long ad temps were around 10'degrees dropped the roof and made sure it was working ok along with all the lights-switches/folding mirrors etc. Will get a interim service done in April just to make sure all is running ok and otherwise hope to enjoy the upcoming Spring/summer with the roof down and the associated fun factor!
  18. Had mine done their same price and very pleased with it (6 months later still looks brand new and no issue with it) they will tell you there is no warranty on the mechanism and also if something goes wrong during fitting with the mechanism they can't take responsibility which worried me a bit at the time but I guess they have to cover their a** by saying that! Black mohair and looks great so I would go for it. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  19. First time I have ever done it but put mine on SORN this month as couldn't justify the £505 when I know I would probably only use my Zed a few times between now and March/April time, figured taxing it for 6 months each year and keeping it off-road for the other 6 and saving the £250ish for other things was a good option! I have enough room to move it about a bit and run it every week so hopefully no major issues when it's back on the road in a few months! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  20. Temps were up a bit today so managed to try the roof out for the first time as was nice and dry, all worked perfectly, nice up and down and looking good! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  21. Yes, it's the 'newer' style where it has an embedded metal frame to hold the glass, supposed to be more resilient/long lasting! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  22. Some rather wet pictures on the IPhone to show the new roof As to the cost, I found no one except the guy in Wales that was anything under £800 and too many places put 'conditions' on about potential leaks, seals etc. which made me nervous, although carhood warehouse still had similar warnings the longevity of the company and customer service they provided throughout my initial enquiries etc. made me thing it was worth paying the extra £50 or so over other places. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  23. Sorry should have put up more details, I used Car Hood Warehouse near Chessington, total cost was £845, this was for the black mohair and to be honest I chose them as they seemed to have been around for a fair while and can't fault the service, the hood looks great, can't take pics as morning it was frozen over and now it's dark Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  24. So decided to bite the bullet and rather than trying to patch up the splits/wear and despite exploring multiple options I ended up just going for a complete replacement roof this week for my 350. I can't say that laying out nearly 15% of the purchase price didn't hurt but have to say the difference between the old vinyl 9 year old and the new Mohair is like night and day (to my eyes anyway) I can't say it seems much quieter to be fair although the whistling at motorway speed has now gone (prob due to the hole near my ear in the old one but at least I won't need to keep changing the towel that was soaking up the water from the seal crack in the usual top corner! Only time will tell if everything is ok with the new roof I guess as right now too damn cold to put it down (and need to keep it stretched for a week or so anyway) Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
