  1. I don't really mind if people don't like the Nismo. I don't like quite a lot of supposedly desirable cars, e.g. BMW M cars..

I just thought I'd join in this thread to point out that I absolutely love it and, from what I've seen, other Nismo owners who've moved from 350s or 370s seem to feel the same. If someone started a thread on the 370 part of the forum just to point how much they dislike the 350 people would be on there pointing out how much they like their 350s (and I'd be agreeing with them) :)

Personal opinions are just that, although I don't take the 'boy racer' description seriously. I'm 45 and far from a show-off or flash person. If I'd thought for one second the car looked 'boy racer' when I saw it I'd never have bought it. Again, some may not like the front end. I think it flows very nicely - much getter than the busy front end of the newer U.S. variant.

Whether it's worth the money over the standard 370 is also a matter of personal opinion and depends on the circumstances. My previous 370 was £25k. I paid an extra £8k for this one and got a part ex price I was very happy with on the old one. Some people have argued that the Nismo pricing is getting into GTR territory but that just doesn't stack up. If you look at prices on Autotrader, there are very few sub-£40k GTRs and I'd be wary of those cars. £45k - £50k is a more realistic price for a half decent GTR in the UK.

To me, the Nismo was absolutely worth it. And I honestly believe that, like other Zs, it's looks and drives like a car that costs a lot more than it actually does :)

Quite right, you like it and that is all the matters.

I Iooked at one before I bought my GT, and it convinced me I wanted a 370. Not so sure on Nismo extras and the cost so went for the GT. Also meant I could get my favourite midnight blue which was a bonus.

It is human nature to feel slightly affronted when people don't like your pride and joy. Bet it doesn't stop you smiling every time you start her up. :)

  2. Love the look of it when I open the garage doors. Have to do it quite a few times a day just to make sure it hasn't been stolen. ;)

Hate coming to an angled junction, and having to get out of the car to see if anything is coming. :scare:

  3. Alfa 156 which I had from new in 1998. Just passed it on to my daughter. Would have liked the Alfa Guilia due out next year, if it had looked like the original pictures, but having seen the latest ones it looks horrible.

Might have to keep the 370 longer than I originally thought. :)

  4.

I think SLM sold the white 370 a few weeks ago?

Still on their website, £25,000 GT Edition auto in white. Only a few hundred quid less than I paid for my new GT. ;)
  5. Well the graphite alloys seem to be a non-nismo option on the 2014 US models. The look great with midnight blue.

I think SLM sold the white 370 a few weeks ago?

hey stop trying to tempt me to spend more money.

  6. Richy I dealt with Nissan SLM recently and they were surprisingly helpful and knowledgeable. People also seem comfortable leaving 350s for service there despite the predominance of micras and chashcows. Btw the 370 looks stunning in midnight blue. Did you get the graphite alloys and red calipers too? Defo agreed re handles though, they need blue/graphite treatment too...

Good to hear that. When the car is due it's service I may leave it there and have a game of golf at Cooden with my mate that got me the car. He did say it was the only new one they have sold, though I think they have a second hand white GT automatic for sale at the moment.

Midnight blue looks superb, but the silver door handles just don't go. They look huge. Matching blue would look good, so will see about getting them done. I have the red calipers which look 'interesting' with the blue, but alloys are not graphite. Think you only get those on the Nismo.

Will try and get my daughter to post some photos for me, once I have cleaned it of course. :)

  7. Thanks for all the advice. I am slightly embarrassed to ask at the Aldershot Nissan, as I got the car in St Leonards, as my mate worked there. I will check though, and in the meantime put up with the wheeze that comes out of the existing exhaust.

On another matter I filled up the car today, and was surprised to see my range was 402 miles.

  8. Exhaust may invalidate the warranty, as the car is no longer standard- call guy in aldershot to confirm as you may as well be 100% sure.

You will need the nissan service to maintain the warranty. Again aldershot have been excellent for me over the past 4 years and I would definitely recommend them as they have bent over backwards to help.

A little further afield is the tunbridge wells nissan garage and they are brilliant too.

P.s. A few of us are still waiting for the pictures you promised ;)

Thanks for that Will. Good to hear the local Nissan garage is sound.

I need my daughter to put photos on here. I can just about use a camera, but that is it. I am just about the only person that doesn't own a mobile phone, and posting on here is about the limit of my technical skills. :) Unfortunately my daughter is 19, and is never home ! I

Happy to let you have a look in the flesh, so to speak :scare::)

  9. I have recently bought a new 370 Zed, and having been on here for a little while now am obviously considering a new exhaust. :) Would this affect the warranty on the car ? Not much else I want to change, haven't got moditis, though I would like to get the door handles changed to match the midnight blue of the car. They just look huge, and ugly ( ) to me in silver.

Not a worry now, but when I need the first service, do I have to go to a Nissan dealer, nearest one is in Aldershot. I have read good reviews of guys on here, one who specialises in GTR's and Zed's (sorry can't remember his name), and would be happy to drive a decent distance, to know I am getting the best.

I am sure these questions have been asked many times, but can't find the answers. :headhurt:

  10. I just ordered the 370z RIchbrook tax disc holder!!! What a twit!!.. Completely forgot about the changes to the tax disc.. :-(

 . It's a real pain taking the tax disc holder apart, started off with 5 micro screws, now I'm down to 3 :) and it has to be wedged between the window and the dash now.

    Pete

Mine has nice rotating mechanism if you are looking to buy a second hand one. Where is the whistling smiley ? ;)

Good man. Always looking for volunteers ! I play at Blackmoor, which is in Bordon, and Aldershot is just up the road.

Father was in the RAF, and I was born in Germany, forces hospital in Jever. Hope it goes well for you, and you pick up a nice Zed.
