Can't wait for this, my first ever convoy!
Just need to work out who to bring along: my missus, my dad or a mate
Sent from Tapatalk
Will the better half really get up at 5am on a saturday?! Mine wouldnt
Well she has agreed to come with, but I don't believe she will be awake at 5am lol, so I might just leave her snoring!

Get her to sleep in the car?

I'll probably join at Reading. Do you guys already have tickets and stand passes?
I was about to write saying I haven't heard of any confirmation about the show, but I've literally just opened a letter received today with the tickets

My ticket arrived today as well......So excited about doing a convoy

I hope this was the Pug/Civic not the Z!
It would cry at Mr Clutch
Oh Adam, do you really think I'd take the zed to Mr Clutch? No of course not, it was the Pug. I've been letting the kids hone their mechanical skills on the zed. Bet you can't wait to see it

No, car used daily and front brakes only affected. Although vibrations under braking were noticeably worse after it was parked at Gatwick for 2 weeks. They put it down to faulty parts. Either way, new disc and pads fitted so total result

Aiming for Reading meet, but don't wait for us...we'll catch up if running late
-
They said corrosion. Will get them to show me when I collect. Must say thanks to my local garage who recommended trying the warranty route....never would have thought of it myself.
-
Mr Clutch replaced brake discs and pads under warranty .....brilliant considering they'd done 10k miles.
-
Erm, yeah.
Might just run it back to Mr Clutch tomorrow and see if they'll cover it under warranty.
-
After 10k? How much more bedded do they need to be?
-
I've got major juddering under braking. Looks like warped brake disc. These were replaced 8 mths, 10k ago and should still be under their 1 yr warranty from Mr Clutch. Anyone know if warped discs are coveted by the warranty? discs and pads look like they've still got plenty of life in them.

Sorry if this has been asked, what time is entry? I know the site says 0930 - Is that for everyone? Or do club stands get earlier time to setup?
Just curious so I can arrange a 'convoy thread'
My SE convoy thread from last year mate:
You doing same convoy this year?
Let us know if you are doing a convoy from Reading M4 way?

Black 05 with big spoiler parked outside shop in Pangbourne at 5:30 this evening. Anyone know it?

Was waiting for you to give your toothpaste story Linus27.....don't listen to him, have seen his car & whatever he uses it doesn't work

I thought they were all cup holders
Mine's a cup holder, never used though.....don't like to drink n drive in the zed
In dash cup holder was replaced with a business card holder when the interior was revamped. Two new cup holders were provided in the compartment next to the handbrake under the retractable lid. There is a removable centre section which stores at the back of the compartment if the whole space is required. Later cars were also provided with illuminated bottle holders in the front of the door cards.
WOW

Ok guys, when I started this thread I was pretty p****d off with the comment this guy had made about my pride & joy and to be honest most of your replies have reassured me that I was not over reacting. But I've had time to calm down and realise I really don't give a **** about what people think or say. I love my Zed and smile to myself every time I drive it
Think maybe it's time to wind this thread down......

Interesting topic.
To me, the Zed has always been one of the FEW sports cars (that is within reach of purchasing for the average person),.. that still exists and is designed proper (looks wise) -- AND has the engine/suspension to back it up.
It's bar none the best all around sports car for the money without a doubt right now and frankly for the last 11 years. (Counting the 370..)..
I got mine for $17,500,.. but it had 26k Miles,.. so I got a steal but it wasn't a DIRT cheap car which can be had with the Zed now that their are such old models (11 yrs for example).. which can be had from anywhere from 1k - 10k,.. obviously the lower you go the higher miles, lower year, and more beat up it is.. and higher you go (generally) in purchase price the lower miles, newer, and better condition.
But, even if you consider brand new 35-40k it's still the best value out there. Where else can you get 300+ HP, with the looks bordering on supercar (definitely as good looking as many porches, better than Corvettes imho,.. and better than many more expensive cars.).. Handling with 4 wheel independent multilink+multilink Over .9G's in Lateral ,.. Sits STOCK on 18" wheels with 225/45 front and 245/45 rear, 71+ mph in 700ft slalom, Beefy Brakes, Stock 0-60 in 5 Seconds, 6 Speed trans, and a Top speed of 170mph (and higher with a few mods and tune)..
That doesn't even consider it's looks, it's rather "large" interior that Nissan wisely didn't do a 2+2 with rear seats giving the front two driver/pass a TON of room, Dedicated gauge pods over Headunit area,.. RPM gauge is your main gauge,.. and the list just goes on.
To be 100% honest , there isn't another Car I would buy over this '08 350 Zed I have under about 80-100k.. Nothing appeals more to me. But, that's me!
In the 90's we had a great deal of sportscars.. from the 300ZedX, Stealth, 3000GT, MR2, Supra, Eclipse (hey they weren't bad looking then), NSX (pricey.. but still proves the point), and more.. Then the 00's+ hit... and Sportscars under 50k just aren't very widespread, and in general cars in general are MOSTLY ugly.. bubble designs, etc. So, again, The Zed is one of the few remaining Beautiful Cars on the road.. and thank god for that eh?
I mean look at it.. everyone can't keep their hands off them
I wish my mum wouldn't keep climbing over my car, it's getting very embarrassing, especially when I pop to Sainsburys for some milk
which sainsburys would this be
Pretty sure it's not the one off J12.....would have noticed. I'm sure I've seen her down the 'wash n wax' on Oxford Road though

VERY NICE
-
So, who bought the Celestial?
-
I always wave, thumbs up or flash other z's and get about 75% waving back - don't see many though. Some-one mentioned that may be because z's are a bit more exclusive, so how about adopting a more exclusive acknowledgement? Perhaps present a nipple to passing z's. you could even then adopt this as a pedestrian so the z' driver would know you are too?
just a thought..
Errrr...Sorry to be a spoil sport but not sure I'm up for that one Will stick with flashing & thumbs up, thanks
-
Cheers mates.....have been fuming all day, but need to just rise above it and be content in the knowledge that I have one of the best cars in the world
-
So, today somebody likened my beautiful azure 350 to a, wait for it.........squashed, modern day VW Beetle. Well, you can just imagine the look on my face To make matters worse I was once asked after seeing a photo of my car on FB, if it was a Vauxhall. I mean, what is wrong with some people?

I did mean put her to bed in the car the night before, that way you can just drive off in the morning......she'll wake went you start the engine surely?
Is that why it takes so long to drive from Reading services to Castle Combe.....all the photo stops?
