  1. why not just keep it to pm :)

Sorry...I know I'm very impatient but the prospect of waiting 3 weeks to get my z back on the road is killing me. I'm going for the 'hound him until he gives in' tactic. Even thought about going down to Chievely on the off chance of getting it slotted in early.

    I CAN'T WAIT 3 WEEKS.......ARRGHHHHH !!!!!

  2. The moment police officers had a head-on collision with a drink-driver who was travelling the wrong way on a busy A-road has been caught on camera.

Surrey Police had little choice but to use the dangerous tactic as a last resort to protect motorists behind them from 21-year-old Perri Game, who was so intoxicated she failed to notice she was on the wrong side of the carriageway and rapidly approaching a fully lit-up police BMW.

The collision, which occurred in January this year on the A3 near Wisley, saw extensive damage inflicted on the unmarked BMW X5. Game's Volkswagen Polo was written-off after being sent flying into the central reservation.

Both the officers and Game were taken to hospital with minor injuries following the incident.

Game, a former elderly care worker, was jailed for four months, disqualified from driving for three years and ordered to pay a total of £630 in costs, after admitting dangerous driving and drink driving at Guildford Crown Court.

PCs Ed Stock and Simon Down were later praised for their bravery and quick thinking, which undoubtedly prevented a much more serious collision.

Happened in January apparently. Just glad she didn't hurt some innocent motorist. :surrender:

Doesn't always work out that way. Police used over aggressive pursing technique on a BMW near my house.....resulted in BMW killing two cyclists.

  3. I tend to 'profile' the friendliness of zed drivers based on the colour of the car before giving a wave these days...if it's a silver one I'll give a slight nod but residing myself to getting nothing back...other coloured cars get a mix of waves/flashes. Also depends how much I've had to drink before I drive.

    S.

    What would I get?.....mine's azure blue ;)

  4. Hey guys

Anyone have any views (good or bad) on MAZDA3 2.3T MPS? Saw them at JP fest, but didn't really notice them (bit boring looking). They use them at Thruxton for the track briefing so reasonably quick (under 6s) and don't have the Mazda rotary engine. Going to look at this one....

Reviews seem a bit mixed....torque issues & thirsty seem to crop up.

    Would appreciate your comments,

    Cheers M

P.S. this is not to replace Z (before you all start again)....still on quest for Civic swap for hubby, Scooby on back burner as struggling to find decent one.

  5. Also I've just read the gym bit.........DO NOT take creatine to bulk up if your feeling anxious. The side effects can mimic the symptoms of anxiety and make you feel worse.

All my mates have been telling me to take creatine/whey gainer and stuff to bulk up and i was always worried if there was side effects of the stuff lol. Thanks for the heads up

Also, it doesn't work for everyone.....hubby took it for ages and worked out at the gym. Absolutely no effect, on the plus side he can eat like a pig every night and never gain weight. It all depends on your build & genetic makeup. Anything that overstimulates your brain can be bad as well, too much gaming can leave you wired which may make your symptoms worse. Really feel for you mate and very brave for you to share x

  6. I don't suffer from anxiety, but for me I find going to the gym helps me channel my energy and clear my mind. Obviously it won't remove the problem completely, but it gives you an opportunity to look at it from another angle and see another avenue of solving it.

Maybe try something similar, or meditating/yoga helps as well.

Hope you get through whatever it is that's affecting you mate :console:

+1 for this. I don't suffer at all so I don't know what it feels like, sorry. But if I'm having a bad couple days I take it out with physical activity. Clears my mind. Also after my first Det in afghan I did a lot of yoga. Not only is it generally awesome, but it also improved drastically in the gym with lifting heavier weights.

Cheers guys. I'd love to go to the gym but because of my anxiety it leaves me breathless very easy so i find it very hard. I'm also only 9stone (skin and bones) lol but I'm hoping a diet change will help me gain weight so I can gain the confidence to start up the gym.

Exercise definitely helps & fresh air. You can come running with me, as long as you promise not to laugh too much :)

  7. :welcome: and enjoy your new Z....will keep an eye out for you down Surrey way (that's where I work) :)

Ah OK, well gimme a wave if you see me! I'm usually around Coulsdon/Purley

Oh, I'm more Woking/Guildford way but hubby is Rickmansworth so you may still meet the Z on the M25 ;)

  8.

Just taken these....some of the marks are bugs/dirt but mostly stone chippings. I think blue shows the marks more but how does it compare to yours? I think we should go with respray but Al350 has got vinyl wrap on the brain after JP fest. My concern is how will the rest of the coachwork look after tarting up the bumper.

  9. Hey guys

Having problem with my Pug 4007. EML light was on...fault codes indicate faulty EGR valve. Car is running fine but mpg is shocking...getting about 27mpg (its a 2.2l HDi GT BTW) which is hurting my wallet almost as much as the Z.

Part is £117 but very labour intensive....so looking at a cost of £400 incl VAT. Garage said that he had heard of someone getting the ECU, not mapped but something similar to delete the EGR. Obviously new data sets need to be entered to sort out the mpg, etc.

Does anyone know anything about this? The guy at the garage doesn't know how to do it but thinks it would be a cheaper option......

  10. Ok, garage phoned.......heat shield looks good, as does exhaust, brackets, flange. Drop links, lower arm bush, ball joint, coil springs all look good also. Am happy but stumped.

Going to run the Z to work tomorrow and see how it is......maybe it just doesn't like being driven by hubby lol

370Ad......mechanic said that he could see the car had really been taken care of B) Naturally I took full credit :D

Haha! Well I am glad its nothing major.

Maybe it was something caught underneath that has now come off?! Will keep an eye out for you zooming past on the M4 ;)

Funnily enough the mechanic did suggest that maybe Alex had 'picked something up' when he was driving yesterday and then it fell off...........have visions of a squirrel running up and down the exhaust

  11. Also could be something inside the exhaust? For example silenced decats spitting out there insides.

OK, what does that mean? Would that explain why it all sounded fine when I drove it?

Basically inside the decats there is a honeycombe like material which reduces the noise. I have heard this can sometimes fail and rattle around inside the exhaust.

Have you been keeping an eye on the oil?!

Yes, Dad....250ml of the best money could buy (or the stuff you told us to get) went in about 2 wks ago ;)

    Good girl ;)

Fingers crossed its a cheap fix!

No charge.....see being a girly has it's advantages sometimes

  13. Myself +1 will be coming. The trouble is they say that to park together we all have to arrive at the same time, is that right?

Don't think that applied if we were having a group stand, might be wrong but think that was just for those buying individual tickets but wanting to park next to each other.

I'm passing all this info onto Si from the 300zx forum who is organising.

He assures me he will pay a visit here soon and post up some details and answer the questions.

Cheers Lexx, will keep an eye out.............. need to be careful what I say about eyes on this forum
