I thought exactly the same! You're showing your age ;)

Well, she is getting on, the big 5 0 next year I am led to believe. I'll have to double check with the guys at work :teeth:

Hey Linus, look out the window.....think someones just let your tyres down mate oh and put a big pile of something brown & steamin' on your BGW :stir:

  2. I find track driving a totally different mentality to other driving. For me it's not just about going as fast as you can, it more about perfecting the skills to make you a better driver which in turn will make you quicker. Focusing on balancing the car, coming off the throttle smoothly, applying the brakes correctly, coming off the brakes smoothly and balancing the throttle and steering inputs as you unwind exiting the corner, focusing on the correct line and trying new lines.

I also love understanding how your car behaves on track and learning the way it handles. My old Civic Type R at Castle Combe, I had to always turn in much earlier than normal to make the apex as it didn't like the ideal line. Caught me out a few times but set a whole new challenge to focus on. However, when the rain came, my god did the car come alive and it was like a totally different machine. Even the Lotus instructor who was coaching me couldn't believe how much it changed.

For day to day driving, you do very little working on this precise type of driving as it's more routine and regulated. Yes you get the chance to have some nice blats on various B roads but you never turn around and try the corner again and again to perfect it. I love the technical aspect of circuit driving more than the speed.

  3. You can't beat the woosh of when VTEC kicks in :teeth: Although, when discussed the other day, the response from the other person was, VTEC ah how sweet :boxing:

apart from the Woosh of a nice bit of good old fashion boost

    Yes indeed :)

  4. I don't think there is actually anything wrong with the 370z but I see two problems with it. First is its the wrong car in the wrong place at the wrong time. The price of fuel, tax, recession, political green agenda, lack of money in everyone pocket has made people more cautious and sensible on how they spend their money. The second issue is the competition has been too tough, the likes of BMW, Audi, Porsche were producing cars which were faster, cheaper and more economical. Given the economical situation and this crazy obsession of being seen in an Audi, the 370z was certaining up against the ropes.

If none of the above affected you or bothered you, then as a car, the 370z is perfect. I know I would have one and will consider it at some point in the future.

  5. I reckon she Is by far the best looking woman on TV. But my fave character acting wise is the guy who plays Tyrian (the dwarf). Excellent actor and great character.

Have you seen her offset? She has brown hair and looks totally different. Still very hot though :)

I really like Arya, I think her character is excellent and just gets better each episode. I like the Queen as well. He is one nasty piece of work :)

  6. Real shame it wasn't on this week, looking forward to sitting down and watching it :(

I do think how they kill some people off is a little quick and makes it all a bit weaker. The first two series really allowed characters to build but the last two series seems to be filled with bit parts. Still loving it though.

  7. Vettel just hasn't got to grips with the new cars yet, didn't have much pre-Season Testing .. :scare:

Ricciardo has found the sweet spot sooner, because he not used to the old car.

I think this also. I also wonder if Seb is struggling more with a car that's not ideal where Daniel can drive around issues better.

  8. TGM in Fleet mate

They will be pricey though but expect a superb job!

I know Tom and the guys/gals at TGM and I can't recommend them highly enough. They do all the work on my Honda, Scooby, Mazda and Lotus and they are ace. Seen a few 350/370's there as well. Will is Tom's brother and he does all the paint shop stuff and the work will be perfect. They are very very busy though. If you call, you might not get through so keep trying.
