  1. Did someone mention my name :)

I love my CW DC5 but I am not sure this is quite the place I should say I think it looks better than a Z :) Not sure I would get much agreement or get out of this forum alive :)

I am sure my CW DC5 next to Kraziekatz1's blue Z will compliment each other. They are both awesome looking cars but also very different types of cars.

  2. I thought they were all cup holders

Mine's a cup holder, never used though.....don't like to drink n drive in the zed :)

In dash cup holder was replaced with a business card holder when the interior was revamped. Two new cup holders were provided in the compartment next to the handbrake under the retractable lid. There is a removable centre section which stores at the back of the compartment if the whole space is required. Later cars were also provided with illuminated bottle holders in the front of the door cards.

    WOW B)

Oh, trust you Kraziekatz1 to get excited about cup holders, all you do is drink tea all day :)

  3. Was waiting for you to give your toothpaste story Linus27.....don't listen to him, have seen his car & whatever he uses it doesn't work :)

Oi, shouldn't you be learning how to turn your traction control off :) Oh, and you owe me a cup of tea.

  4. Would rather have a Jag than a pokey BMW or Merc any day of the week. Have warned my mother that any money she leaves me will be blown on a quality motor. (Given that she has driven jalopies all her life, she's not terribly impressed!) :D

HAHA I have the same plan also. Any money my mum leaves me will be blown on a Caterham or Exige :)

  5. THE TRUE SOUND OF F1, BRING IT BACK "PLEASE"...!! :surrender: :surrender:

I'd rather listen to that than some of the crap thats on the radio nowadays.

or eaven wotch Man U try and play football again :teeth:

I'll correct that for you.."or even watch Man U play football again"..What relevance has that to F1..? :scare: :scare:

Here's something for you to listen to..!!

  6. Interesting topic.

To me, the Zed has always been one of the FEW sports cars (that is within reach of purchasing for the average person),.. that still exists and is designed proper (looks wise) -- AND has the engine/suspension to back it up.

It's bar none the best all around sports car for the money without a doubt right now and frankly for the last 11 years. (Counting the 370..)..

I got mine for $17,500,.. but it had 26k Miles,.. so I got a steal but it wasn't a DIRT cheap car which can be had with the Zed now that their are such old models (11 yrs for example).. which can be had from anywhere from 1k - 10k,.. obviously the lower you go the higher miles, lower year, and more beat up it is.. and higher you go (generally) in purchase price the lower miles, newer, and better condition.

But, even if you consider brand new 35-40k it's still the best value out there. Where else can you get 300+ HP, with the looks bordering on supercar (definitely as good looking as many porches, better than Corvettes imho,.. and better than many more expensive cars.).. Handling with 4 wheel independent multilink+multilink Over .9G's in Lateral ,.. Sits STOCK on 18" wheels with 225/45 front and 245/45 rear, 71+ mph in 700ft slalom, Beefy Brakes, Stock 0-60 in 5 Seconds, 6 Speed trans, and a Top speed of 170mph (and higher with a few mods and tune)..

That doesn't even consider it's looks, it's rather "large" interior that Nissan wisely didn't do a 2+2 with rear seats giving the front two driver/pass a TON of room, Dedicated gauge pods over Headunit area,.. RPM gauge is your main gauge,.. and the list just goes on.

To be 100% honest , there isn't another Car I would buy over this '08 350 Zed I have under about 80-100k.. Nothing appeals more to me. But, that's me! :D

In the 90's we had a great deal of sportscars.. from the 300ZedX, Stealth, 3000GT, MR2, Supra, Eclipse (hey they weren't bad looking then), NSX (pricey.. but still proves the point), and more.. Then the 00's+ hit... and Sportscars under 50k just aren't very widespread, and in general cars in general are MOSTLY ugly.. bubble designs, etc. So, again, The Zed is one of the few remaining Beautiful Cars on the road.. and thank god for that eh?

I mean look at it.. everyone can't keep their hands off them :teeth:

I wish my mum wouldn't keep climbing over my car, it's getting very embarrassing, especially when I pop to Sainsburys for some milk :)

which sainsburys would this be ;)

Pretty sure it's not the one off J12.....would have noticed. I'm sure I've seen her down the 'wash n wax' on Oxford Road though B)

How weird is that, I was going to the Oxford Road tomorrow, I might need to take a detour to wash n wax. Hope it's warm enough for bikini weather :)

  9. I can't wait for this either, the racing should be epic. I think it's worth keeping an eye on Bautista, he seems to be pretty happy at the moment. I think Dovi and Bautista might have a few good scraps. I also hope Rossi can find form but not sure to be honest.

  10. I was parked up many years ago in my P reg Elise S1 waiting to pick my son up from school. A lady in a brand new Seat Leon pulled up next to me and said wow, is that a Porsche? I said no, a Lotus. She then said I must be really rich and it must be really expensive. I then proceeded to tell her that it probably cost half of what her new Leon cost. She didn't believe me so I told her it cost me £7k and she was totally go smacked. Still not sure she believed me but funny how peoples perceptions are on cars.

  11. Oh don't say that, I'm getting rid of my EP3 Type R as it just feels so slow. Amazing on track as you are always in VTEC but everyday driving it is just slow. Top of my list as replacement is either a 350z or Impreza STi so I hope the 350z doesn't feel slow as I will be gutted. I am used to a 300bhp Impreza WRX and an Elise S1 so I might be a bit spoilt.

Before the Zed my most recent car was a 2003 EP3 Civic Type R but before that I've had a JDM classic Impreza WRX (dyno @295bhp), Golf VR6, ST24 and various other relatively fast cars. To me the Zed is definitely the best car I've owned to date and does not feel slow at all.

When driven hard, foot to the floor changing gear at every shift light point you can very quickly get up to some serious licence losing speeds.

Yes it's very different from my old Civic which felt great when wound up above 6000rpm in VTEC and it doesn't have the pin you in your seat effect of a turbo boost like my old Impreza but still it's a deceptively quick vehicle.

For me I just love the linear power of the Zed and incredible torque in pretty much any gear at any speed. B)

Seriously Linus27 I think you really should go for a good test drive before you truly make up your mind. Remember as well that people who have owned these cars for a while will have gotten used to the power/acceleration available just like you do with any car really.

Thanks GMballistic and yes, I do need to test drive one first. Thankfully, I still have my WRX and S1 so can compare pretty much back to back. The thing I hate about the EP3 is the lack of torque. I think it only has something like 145bhp before 6k revs so when you put your foot down, not a lot happens until you hit VTEC. In comparison, the S1 just flies, the WRX obviously does and even my wife's 1990 1.6 MX5 pulls nicely through all the gears so if the 350z has nice torque low down then I will be happy :)

  12. Wow. It really does surprise me! I've had the car maybe a few months max, and with work and a wife that hates fast driving I haven't really had any chance to give it a proper drive.

But yesterday I thought I should see what she's made up. Being a 2004 early model I'm guessing it only had 276BHP is it...? I say only but it seemed more than quick enough to me!

The power is instant and rapid, and cruising along in 2nd at say 30 or so when you slam that right foot down you reach license wrecking speeds in no time. I was amazed to see how fast I was going at a few points to be honest.

Guess it depends on what you are used to driving but I went from a diesel golf to a 313 zed and was quite underwhelmed by the performance. Sure, it was quick, but it just didnt feel as quick as I expected. I guess the last proper "quick" car I had before my zed was a 220bhp Renault 5 GT Turbo which would do 0-80 as quick as you could change gear and literally violently throw you back in your seats when the hybrid turbo kicked in. Im also used to sports bikes like my R1 etc. So maybe for me a NA "quick" car just didnt have the right feel. Saying that, my 123d does 0-60 in 6.2 seconds which is only less than half a second slower than a zed and that too doesnt feel quick until you look at the speedo and think "christ i didnt realise i was doing that speed", so maybe its just me!

I always bring this up but my old EP3 Type R felt much faster than the Z, however if put in a drag the Z would probably win. I find It's all about how the Z puts the power down, it has no drama, just smooth progressive acceleration through the revs. It's deffinately one of those cars where you dont realize how fast your actually going in it. It's actually my biggest gripe with the Z, in stock form it's a little boring for a sports car (in my opinion of course).

Oh don't say that, I'm getting rid of my EP3 Type R as it just feels so slow. Amazing on track as you are always in VTEC but everyday driving it is just slow. 13. Thanks GMballistic. I need to drive a 350Z to see if its what I am after. I love the whole hot hatch thing but getting fed up with it now with the miles I do. As you know the EP3 has to be worked so hard where as when I drive the Scooby, its so more relaxing and cruisy so I am hoping the 350Z will be more like that.

  14. Hello everyone, my name is Michael, I live in Surrey and thought I would pop in and say hi as I am considering buying a 350Z at some point soon. Currently drive a 05 Civic Type R EP3 which has some subtle mods for track days but now I do around 14k a year, I fancy a change to something a bit more comfortable. Previous cars are a Lotus Elise S1 which is still in the family and a 2003 Subaru Impreza WRX which my wife now uses.

Looking forward to reading the forum lots and saying hi to some of you.
