  1. think i'm gonna go with this guy.

It's time to move on from just watching the rpm needle doing the 'S' mode dance and time to also be able to hear what's going on down there when I drop it back!

And get an armytrix type valve fitted, he can fit one of them in also at the same time or later.

what looks maybe even better though is the hks triple system it seems a pretty neat idea although the 'strong and powerful sound' description might be a bit of an understatement.

I suspect more like ear damaging race car!

  2. "was" being used where "were" should be

    interesting example.

Agreed it's gramatically OED type wrong. But it's SO common and frequently used by the people here I have figured it's up there same as having an accent or a type of regional slang.

Same with the greeting of 'orrite'

Also language also evolves so grammatical changes don't have a fixed rule for all variations.

I'll frequently try write a text in full emoticons, just like they did back in the days of the Pharaohs.

You see, it's apathy like that which got "literally" re-defined to mean literally anything these days. :stir:

OMG. hearing 'literally' gives me the shits. it's not a literal! but i'm gonna have to bend over and take it with a smile coz it's now officially a metaphor.

    :teeth:

  3. ewww.

so news is merc is going down in cc in their performance flagship.

bmw is going down in cc in their performance flagship.

ahhhhh what a relief none of that from the australians, americans and japanese in the hsv gts, hellcat and ninja h2.

    /Thread.

You lot don't talk/write like Shakespeare so don't moan at people who dont talk/write like you.

    i don't get it

.is your moan at me or the other guy?

  6. As I said, I have an excuse, I did not go to school in UK (other than Cranfield School of Management) so I think I'm doing pretty well for a foreigner

ok then my poor excuse is i'm a foreigner (having a higher education level from a 1st world english first language country) AND (more relevant to the subject: I'm lazy and also not too fussed about my or others grammar).

my opinion is let it go. I think everyone can make excuses here if they wanted to.

  7. Hope you're aware of the need for having it serviced every few years at a cost of a few hundred.

And it won't probably won't keep the most accurate time.

And it can't do anything near what what a casio F-91W does.

Well aware thanks...standard for a decent watch.

Good point on the casio..... Really wish I got one of those instead now. What a mistake

both are equally cool/quality products. I'm a 50 year submariner man myself.

but pretty much the only time i wear the casio these days is when the green one is in for the service. and the time i did the solo mission with no plans set to Mexico and my friends worried to much about it getting me in trouble there and asked me to leave it at home.

  8. I have been to both a few times and you can't go wrong with either.

It would be the right time to go to Rome next month though as in summer it's dirty and hot and intense and super busy.

It's always a good time to go to Barcelona as it feels a bit bigger and relaxed and a bit more varied.

Alternative - Given it's the gf birthday if you really want to get in the good books Paris would do the trick :)

  9. Hi,

I've got an ebay reverse camera and i'm too lazy/cheap to want to bother fitting it to the front console so want to wire it in to the centre console av input. for now.

It's tested and working in the aux postition but only works with the hand brake on which is too much of a inconvenience even for my lazy and cheapness!

It's this one which comes with power cables and a yellow av video cable.

    http://www.ebay.co.u...-/111592510124?

Anyone out there can tell me how to disable the handbrake aux video prevention function?

Alternatively, anyone has a schematic of how to fit the camera wires in the existing wiring loom, I'm guessing the existing fitting is blank in the place it usually fits that wire so it should just be I need to fit the wire into the existing plug.

and if that's not around, someone please point me in the direction of a loom! :)

    thanks.

  10. I'm looking at getting a custom exhaust for the 370z.

The exhaust shop can do is a 'performance cat back system with twin 4†central exiting tailpipes and sound tailored to choice'.

I'm thinking about also getting a bypass fitted also as they will do it. It's controllable to be able to open/close partially something like 25%, 50% open/closed whatever way you see it. :)

not sure where it the thing goes at mo but will ask him some more questions before I go or no go it. Too far up front would just be too disturbing!

Anyone done it? good idea? bad idea? What to consider if i do go for it?

  11. hugely impressed with the build quality of all 3.

that's some tough testing probably not done before for those particular models.

no red dust making it's way into the gauges and all through the interiors which would be a given with that treatment in days gone by as well as not rattling themselves apart.

  12. ar poop. :bang:

there i was looking at this link after yesterday going for a lap in the Z and thinking I could go a bit more livening up it.

using that logic I think I have the worst perf mod.

a 2013 zx6r with an almost straight thru system(only the baffle bits in the cats remain) so it's race bike loud, dyno'd and fuel module tuned, quickshifter fitted so i can do no letup on full throttle and no clutch needed upchanges.

no restricted vision and bits to get in way of having max road space-seats boot, bonnet etc come as standard.

but that's ok. i still think i got the coolest car in town.

  13. I've never driven the 350 but have the 370z I wasn't quite happy until I had the cobra fitted then had the upRev and then roll bars now I love it is just right now

ah, good post - I'm in a similar situation although I'm happy with it, week 2 of ownership. I'm getting used to it still and just took it out for a lap around the countryside and was thinking of options/improvements.

Mine's a standard 2011 gt. Is that all you needed done from standard to be happy? What's the recommended roll bars? I'm thinking of going a custom exhaust though from Pro-Speed Exhausts after finding them on this site.

  14. there's a new tesla, new cla45 amg, new boxster, 10ish year old sl50 amg parked outside my work at moment. i considered situation and thought - i only like the tesla out of these as it's in a different league to the rest and there's the blue gtr and the white 2013 nismo 370z i've seen a while back a few blocks away in opposite directions which are far ahead of the rest if i put them all in order.

  15. i'm a z fan because of the memories of 280 and 300 and that the current is a continuation. there's not much out there to rival that for longevity.

long bonnet, a medium size 6 of some type, slightly large in size for a 2 door and neat interior with a good range of current options.

so would say keep up the good work from all the years gone by and continue, no radical changes, the update just to keep up with current specs, performance for the time!

  16. saying tesla is a glorified prius is the same as saying the z is a glorified model T. as in the combustion engine hasn't evolved to be that different since it's caveman days. except prius to tesla is less than 20 years and 't' goes back over 100.

the current z in factory spec makes no noise as far as is my opinion.

I know the new high spec sports bmw's lead the way in the old tech we're fans of and they are so factory quiet and make their engine sounds coming from the sound system.

for a careless motorist it runs out of battery the same way the petrol car runs out of fuel.

it's fast as the best petrol sports cars at a fraction of the cost, cheaper to power. luxury features as good as it gets compared to luxury cars. or better as far as that huge control panel goes if you like tech.

So to me in that view it sounds like the future and all positive points in many ways.

i'm a huge fan. as well as that the owner of the co is the ideas man of today, contracting rockets to nasa, is looking to mars, is the guy the movie 'iron man' is based, i see a lot of good in his work. they guy so often gets told it's not possible but won't listen he makes things happen.

  17. Judging by the frequency with which the topic is raised on here, that's probably a conservative estimate...

very happy to be able to say that's not the case with me having covering those 2 cap and manual reading in the opening post

but i get the feeling a lot of responses didn't read the O.P. also.

anyway, on a more positive note, I managed to feed it some 97 on the weekend.

and the subjective (knowing of the change in fuel type gone in) immediate seat of pants feeling was that it was more lively and responsive.(faster revving, sharper response, larger range of power)

given that i've recently found out that the fuel sensor detects and adjusts maps that will protect the engine if needed and performance to suit that should be the case.

    I'm sold on it!

now just to release the gag  to hear what's going on rather than just B) the action on the tacho!

  18. great to hear.

i'm liking the custom exhaust idea and also giving the £ to some smaller and not big name exhaust guys.

esp as i've lost a bit of confidence having recently paid the big £'s and bought and fitted a scorpion exhaust to the bike and the result is that it was terrible for performance and their after sales service on the problem was a total joke. Unlike their sales and marketing dept which promises hp gains and no other changes needed which was all b.s.

  19. thanks mate, I think I've made the executive decision - reckon i'll go with the flow - and the maker and run the super. not that i need performance, managed to get it out today- I work dark to dark hours so can't go play on weekdays :yuck: and didn't get around to pressing the 's' button either but just for peace of mind and when i do i will get the best out of it.

A terrific car for sure, It was the undisputed coolest car on road today, along with the dude I passed in Deal in the 350z with personalised plates

The factory exhaust can't stay though.

  20. LMFAO.

doesn't look like anyone has had a good solicitor experience.

and a +1 to that from me, I took one a friend and her sister both used and they drove me crazy.

I think the key is to chase them constantly to get them to move it on and get past their poor excuses.

I'm sure it's their thing and they win a prize or something if they break their client, they were that close to achieving their goal there with me.

    good luck

  21. Nissan are not mugs, they have some of the best techs in the world no doubt, like most manufacturers. If a manufacturer says use super then I personally would rather than rely on what I can find on the internet to say otherwise. I'm not a fuel technician, and neither are 99% of people on here, so I would rather go with the manufacturer advice on this one.

I completely agree, and came to make this posting after finding the marketing brochure for the 370 which i referred to in the opening post where they say its ok.

just found another article i'd say from a credible independent source, saying it's ok to go the lower grade.

  22. did the pre work also and considered/looked at/tested bmw, audi etc but got too laughed at by friends for: bmw for being an old mans car, would need then to get a pipe, slippers, port sipper accessories(330 m sport models) and audi if i was opening a hairdressing salon and both for being a jr/middle manager.

Not against them by badge(I have a bmw motorbike which is an unbelievably good bike, one of my all time favourites)

if i was commuting i'd get a clio(which i already have and use only to transport the golf clubs) or hyundai, way preferred all round for me than the other 2 from my experiences in all 4 of those makes.
