  1. After doing the hack, Instead of running the phono cable through the middle section and needing to be plugged into your phone....... why not buy one of these instead and keep the phone in your pocket.?

BLACKBERRY BLUETOOTH REMOTE STEREO GATEWAY MUSIC AUDIO ADAPTER

I did this on my previous car, you plug the phono lead (that's connected to the bose) into the adaptor and pair your phone with it. you can then keep everything installed below the handbrake area. TOTAL STEALTH!!

You don't have to have a blackberry phone. In my old car my phone would connect automatically to the blackberry and also to the bmw stereo for the telephone features.

    Worked really well.

  2. Hi,

I don't have an iPod or iPhone and i am looking for another solution so I have removed this from my car.

Basically you plug the aerial into the female plug on the box and then the male plug in the box into the back of the radio. If you plug in your iPod/iPhone to the dock and tune the radio to 102.9fm it plays the music from the iPhone instead of the radio..

Testing and working and was removed without talking out the radio so I guess it can also be installed too. The cradle went in the storage box onto the small removable lid and the control box sat in front of the gear stick under the heater controls. Needs a + and - to power it.

Lights up blue in the dock also. Not sure what iPhones/iPods it can take but tested working with an iPhone 3g.

Might be of use to someone wanting a simple iPhone solution.

How does a tenner sound of £12 delivered?

  3. Hi,

Ive been told that my seats "have" to go from the conservatory. When I bought my Zed the drivers airbag had deployed. The seller included a pair of seats that he purchased for £350 from a Nissan breakers in Leominster with the intention of fitting but never did.

As the replacement drivers seat had just one base adjustment and the current seat has two I instead stripped down the drivers seat and swapped over the top half.

The passenger seat is in really good condition with no wear that I can see on the bolster area. The drivers seat as I said above has one base adjuster and the airbag deployed.

I don't know what someone may want the drivers seat for, but I the dual switches are on ebay for £40. Maybe this is a chance to buy a passenger seat if they usually only come in pairs? I cant confirm that the motors/switches work as they haven't been fitted to the car for me to test. I believe they are also heated (as there is a cable running up the back!) and they have the orange/red stitching.

I don't have any idea of value apart from what I was told that the previous owner told me he paid, and that there is currently a pair on ebay for £350.

If I knock off £200 as the drivers seat airbag has deployed? does that sound about right?

£150 for the pair? Collected from Kidderminster (Worcestershire) or Stourport or Cleobury Mortimer if referred.

Please let me know (politely) if I am way off the mark!

    More photos to follow.

  4. Great thank you!

So if I buy an adaptor (q2) I can Bluetooth my phone up and use the buttons on the wheel. That's great. Do you please know the adaptor kit name?

    Images fixed..

When you say inside the clocks, actually something loose inside one of the smaller dials? Or the whole lot as a unit is loose?

    Thanks again?

  5. Sorry for all these questions, ive tried to search for answers and look at other cars etc...

Ive taken pictures of each question, would anyone please be kind enough to have a look?

    1) I have chrome edges on my tips on my front bumper - Are these OEM? Maybe an option? (http://img716.images...6/8692/cp33.jpg)

THEY ARE NOT OEM, ADDED AFTER

    2) In the storage box in the middle I have what looks like an iPhone or iPod dock, is this OEM? Would this allow the steering wheel controls allow calls etc? Does it show connected on the radio or anywhere etc? (http://imageshack.us...ge/202/ha4y.jpg)

THIS IS AN OLD IPOD KIT THAT INTERCEPTS THE RADIO AERIAL - TUNE IN RADIO TO HEAR IPOD

    3) I pulled out the dock and underneath I found 2 unconnected plugs? What are these for please? (As above)

THESE WIRES ARE FOR THE OEM PHONE KIT THAT HAS BEEN REMOVED

    4) Under the Passenger and drivers side of the dash there are no covers, I can literally see all the wiring etc, surely this isn't normal? (http://img17.imagesh...7/2294/1umu.jpg)

APARENTLY THERE ARENT UNDER DASH COVERS - EVEN THOUGH THERE APPEARS TO BE CLIPS?? (CAN AONYONE CONFIRM?)

    5) What is the large box just above and the width of the rear view mirror? I would guess alarm but why so big? (http://imageshack.us...7/8595/6ry1.jpg)

OEM MICROPHONE NOT THE ALARM SENSOR

    6) I have a really nasty rattle coming from what appears to the be the top of the middle of the dash about the clocks . Is this common, can anyone please suggest something to check? Will I need to strip things out !!! It only happens at about 4k-5k on the revs Ive tried pressing everything down but it doesn't stop, are there things underneath that may be causing this? (http://img855.images...5/8070/5fjw.jpg)

STRIPPED DOWN THE CLOCKS EVERYTHING SEEMS FINE - POSSIBLY ITS THE BATTERY COVER SURROUND AS IT IS LOOSE MISSING PLUGS/FIXERS

    7) I have two buttons on the wheel that appear to do nothing? They are for the phone kit, what are they linked to? The stereo or some other oem kit? Is this Bluetooth or need that above cradle? (http://img822.images...2/9914/tk48.jpg)

TO USE THESE I NEED TO BUY THE OEM BLUETOOTH ADD-ON THAT FITS INSIDE THE OEM PHONE KIT (REMOVED FROM MY CAR)

  6. I was just saying that as I think the thred is confused. I believe that noise to be normal. However a spinning sound that then stops half a second later doesn't sound like this which is what the OP asked about.

    hi there,

My spinning stay on all the time when in neutral with the clutch up. Only when I put my foot down on the clutch does the spinning sound stop after a sec maybe 2 at a push. Sounds like something whirring down and stopping.

I tried to show someone today and they couldn't hear it! So hoping this is a "Free added extra" to the Zed and not a problem!

  7. No idea on the clutch I would guess standard.

I have been reading more and more saying its a trait of the Zed!! Might wait till I meet someone else with a zed and see what there's sounds like. I.might just be nervous as first day on the road.

Thanks for the advise. Can't afford a clutch/flywheel install. Really cant . 350 insurance and 280 tax on top of the car purchase

  8. Hi all,

I got home today and popped my car into neutral. When I took my foot off the sound there was a weird spinning sound. When I press the clutch in the sound sounds like something is slowing, getting quieter and stop in 1/2secs?

With the clutch pressed no sound? Sounds like it is coming from the gearstick area not under the bonnet. Not too loud but noticeable!!

Has anyone any idea what this could be please?

    Please help!!!
