Welcome, good to see another Irish member . -
It must be so devastating crashing your pride and joy, then having to pay a load of cash to the ring.

Del's - Ultra Yellow GT4 350Z build thread.

I've had it two weeks now. For the price I think it's great - plenty of features etc. It is a little slow though considering how fast even cheap smart phones are now. Unfortunately I don't have an android phone so I haven't been able to try mirror link. I also noticed the "telenav" app isn't on the home screen, maybe it's not available in Europe? Which is disappointing. How are you finding it? -
Some All Purpose Cleaner (APC), some trim dressing (something like meguiars hyper/all season dressing) and some metal polish. I have a pic in my build thread after giving the engine only a quick wipe using those products and it looks great. If it's very dirty then steam cleaning is the best option.

Very nice -
In Ireland you rarely see more powerful cars than a zed, probably because the country is in financial ruin and the tax system is ridiculous(1800 Euro a year to tax a 350Z). I've never seen another zed on the road, just one in a car park a year ago.

American Dad.... that's awesome.

On the wheels? That's IronX in the pic . I used bilberry before hand, it's an awesome wheel cleaner .
-
It's not standard, I plastidipped it. It made the front end much more aggressive, I'm very happy with it. Check out my build thread I have pics of before and after - http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/73692-dels-ultra-yellow-gt4-350z-build-thread/

Hi guys, my zed was in dire need of a detail. When I picked it up it had lots of tar and swirls on the bodywork making the ultra yellow appear dull. I'd planned to do a step by step run through of the process but I couldn't get a loan of a good camera. So instead here's a few pics(iPhone sorry) and a list of the products I used. Prep - Valet Pro - Bilberry Wheel Cleaner - Valet Pro - PH Neutral Snow Foam - Valet Pro - Poseidon Carnauba Wash - Valet Pro - Citrus Tar and Glue Remover - CarPro - Iron X - Meguiars All Purpose Cleaner - Meguiars Last Touch + Meguiars Clay Bar Polising - EP801 Rotary Polisher - SONAX Perfect Finish Polish - Chemical Guys Orange Hex Pad - Sonus SFX-2 Paint Polishing Pad Sealant/Wax - Carlack 68 - Long Life Sealant - R222 Carnauba Wax - Poorboys Wheel Sealant Finishing - Meguiars - Glass Cleaner - Wolfs Chemicals - 'Blackout'trim dressing - Meguiars Hyper Dressing - Meguiars High Gloss Tyre gel - FinishKare #425 - Ultra Slick Polywipe Deep clean with snow foam + APC mixture wash IronX exposed lots of iron particle contamination ... The surface was clay barred to prepare the paintwork for polishing.. Here's a pic of the paint before polishing. Plenty of swirls. After rotary polishing ... After sealant + wax applied... All done ... Some beading shots...

Glad I could help! Enjoy the polisher .

I saw this cool product on a detailing website, I thought I'd share my experience of it here. I bought the Gtechniq - Glass Sealant Kit, it comes with the following.... 1. G4 Nano Glass Polish 2. G1 Clear Vision Smart Glass 3. G2 Residue Remover Very easy to apply: 1. Deep clean all the windows using G4 Polish 2. Apply the G1 to the window 3. Allow to cure for 15 minutes 3. Remove using the G2 Residue Remover 4. Apply 3 coats of G1 to the windscreen The G1 and G2 comes in a 15ML bottle and is enough for all the windows on the Zed with 3 coats on the windscreen. Here's a small before and after video: I was driving on the motorway last night and I barely needed to turn on the wipers even in heavy rain. This would be ideal for anyone with the rear wiper delete mod.

I was in a similar position as you a year ago. I decided to just go for a DAS6 Pro dual action polisher and teach myself. My advice would be: 1. Have a read of this guide: http://www.detailingworld.co.uk/forum/images/misc/dapolishing.pdf 2. Get an old scrap bonnet to practice on if you're worried about experimenting on your car. 3. Don't be afraid, they're easy enough to use and hard to do damage with.

I also recommend Finishkare fk425 . Leaves a fantastic shine and the dust doesn't stick to the car as easy. Was great during the recent heatwave with all the dust floating about.
-
R222 Carnauba Wax - gives a great wet finish once the surface has been correctly prepared. It matches wax which is many times more expensive. Here's a pic with it on my Z -

Damn! No worries. Thanks for getting back to me.

Hello from Dublin- new Z owner
delz0r replied to GT Driver's topic in Introductions & Welcome Messages
Nice car > Had a small dent in the rear plastic bumper straightened out If you don't mind me asking. Where did you get this done and did it cost much? I'm trying to find someone around Dublin to take a small dent out of my bumper. -
Hi Chris, does the nismo knob have the shift pattern on the top of it? It's a little hard to see the condition from the pics, what sort of condition would you say its in?

Thanks! Yeah I'm very happy with the lip, it was my first time using Plastidip. It's awesome stuff, very easy to use and appears to be holding up very well. -
I'm starting this build thread to keep track of 350Z. I'm not planning too many mods just some subtle enhancements . I like clean , minimalist, aggressive styling. Bought standard 06/2013 - 30,000 Miles (~49,000 KM) on the clock. After a quick wash: A quick wipe of the engine bay using Meguiars APC, Last touch and Hyper Dressing. The RX8 and zed chilling in the sun. My first and most important mod of all .... A massive service. All service consumables were provided by ZMANALEX: - Motul 8100 Engine Oil - Nissan Oil Filter - Denso Iridium Spark Plugs - Genuine Nissan Manual Gearbox fluid - DC Molyslip for Gearbox - Diff. fluid (Viscous) VLSD Genuine Nissan - PAS fluid Genuine Nissan - Brake fluid Motul RBF 600 - Clutch fluid Motul RBF 600 - Performance Panel Air filter HKS - Set of Gates Belts - Air Con. Cleaner/Bacteria killer One dip bulb was blown when I picked up the car so I decided to upgrade to Osram Xenon 5500k Dip Bulbs and Osram LED 6000K Parking Bulbs. I will get better pictures of these when I get a chance, the colour they offer is a perfect "premium" looking extreme white. My first exterior mod - Stubby Aerial! Same reception quality as the standard aerial and looks much better. Thanks to tarmacsportz for this Honda RDX stubby aerial. My second exterior mod - plastdip the front middle lip. This is a fantastic mod and makes the front of the car look far more aggressive. It also doesn't make the car look "modified". Mid Plastidipping session ... Done after 5 coats and 8 hours of drying - That's all for now . Update: 14/08/2013 Full detail: http://www.350z-uk.c...4-first-detail/ Forodo DS2500 Brake Pads Facelift rear LED lights Number Plate white LEDs Update: 06/09/2013 Sony XAV601BT Head Unit installed.
