  1. So my car just failed it's mot due in part to the exhaust. Currently got a guy looking into prices for me but apparently it can only be gotten from Nissan so I'm not holding out for it to be cheap.

So with that in mind, what exhaust system would make for a good replacement? I'd want to keep a similar sound to the OEM system (can't be too loud as it already wakes people up).

    Thanks

  2. It failed :(

The exhaust has a hole in it causing a major gas leak, so also failed on emissions.

Front tyres have too little tread but I already knew they were on their way out so thats no surprise.

The offside front (rear bush) suspension arm has excessive play in a pin/bush.

All in all, looks like it is going to cost a pretty penny. Might just take it in to TDi North and get it tuned up with their Stage 2 so I get the Exhaust

  3. What's happened to this place - people would of scratched each others eyes out for bit like this a year back.

    +1

Everybody is incredibly gay around here these days............

Are gay people renowned for not liking nismo exhausts?

  4. :welcome:

The whole audio system is something that I have never been particularly happy with either. The Bose sound system never really seemed like it was much of a premium set up like they'd have you believe, especially since you need a special cable that was impossible to find (It was searching for that cable that led me to this forum  ). With an after market head unit, it's definitely improved (My OEM randomly lowered the sound output without the volume dial changing).

If I had the cash I'd love to just strip the whole thing out and completely replace the system with something truly fitting for the Zed.

  5. Hello and :welcome:

    Where are you located?

Im located in Hinckley in the Midlands when I'm in the UK, but I live in Germany at the min. If im back in the UK and theres some meets happening then I will try and attend. However if there is any 'ring trips planned then I will deff make it. :)

I'd prefer to have a bit of practice else where first (wouldn't want my first trip on a track in my Zed to be at the ring  ), but this is totally a thing that needs to happen.

Would probably require a lot of planning though to get a massive group of forum members to Germany for it.

  6. In the unlikely event you still have this in a few weeks/months, I would be interested. Can't afford it at the moment though; shame really because I live around the corner (I would get on the M56 at Junction 9).

EDIT: You got a video of this in action btw?

  7. Does seem a bit steep. To be fair though, one of the guys I spoke to (the guy that said £220) didn't seem to know what he was talking about, so although it is cheaper, it might not be as good quality.

My dad got his wheels done last year some time, and a company in Manchester came out to our house to do it (in Warrington), it was something like £160 for all 4 wheels too. All they did was refurb it to standard spec, there was no re-spraying a different colour or anything like that. So maybe that would have made it cheaper. Only problem is he doesn't have a record any where of who it was that did them

  8. Very easily apparently... Clicky

    Where are you based mate?

Warrington (North West), so a bit of a ways a way from Surrey.

Yeah, when I do the bumper I'm planning to take the grill back off, tape it all up with some newspaper just to be sure, then go to town on it.

  9. This is relevant to my interests. I have asked around a few places for prices in Warrington recently, they all seem to be about 220 or so for me to get mine done and resprayed matte Bronze. Can't really speak for the quality of any of them though as I've not had mine done yet.

  10. Looks beautiful. Wish I had the money to do some more noticeable mods to my car. Just been doing little things here and there.

  11. Haha thanks guys.

Yeah, I couldn't figure it out either, it was meant to be a 5 minute job and everything that could go wrong did. When trying to take those plastic bits out from behind the grill, some of the plastic locking contraptions (No idea what they are called) snapped on me, which made it a nightmare to get out. Only took me a minute or two today though when I went to try putting the grill on again.

I am taking the car in to have some repair work done on the bumper some time in the near future, which is likely going to need a full re-spray anyway, so it might be worth just getting them to do the middle bit black at the same time :D

Saturday afternoon until Thursday evening... I think you might be right about the record
