  1. Yes you definitely have the std DE motor, i was pretty sure that the Skyline 350GT never got the rev-up motor, the JDM Skyline could be ordered with any number of extras and add ons, so getting mix and match stuff is also pretty common.

Your dyno print out is also correct as far as the power figures go, mine made pretty much the same, but at less RPM, which may be down to the gear they used, and despite the red line being at 6.5K RPM they will rev out as they have a speed limit but not a hard rev limit.

Ahh ok thats that cleared up then! Thanks man

  2. It looks like the one below which is de and I also looked at the airbox its a de.. but i dont understand why she revs till 7100 and produces power all the way up to there. All the infiniti in US 2005 manuals all got the revup.. issit possible they messed up and put de engine in but revup ecu? they stated the revup has the aluminum dash interior and 19" forged rays which I also have.

Utterly delighted with those results, and a very good basis should I decide to add a spacer, plenum & remap later in the year.

Also my dyno results are pretty similiar to this as low torque and high hp?! :scare:

Im kind of confused, it feels like im really down on power and torque, with standard spec saying I should be 298bhp and 256lbft of torque, does anyone that knows how to read this able to give me some advice? As car only has 30,000 on the clock i wouldnt have expected this much loss. Also all sorts of lights cut in when testing, my slip light and abs light came on.

    Thanks

    Saskhi

Iv just realised something..iv looked at other de printouts (http://www.modified.com/tech/modp-1012-nissan-vq-street-cam/photo_18.html) and the power drops off around 6400... but mine revs all the way to 7200 and makes power... is there anyway to tell if my car has already been upreved? or do i really have a rev up? im so confused right now... but the car was completely stock when I gotit surely if they were upreving it they would have done some bolt on mods? the exhaust had calsonic on the backbox airfilter was standard rideheight everything..

  5. Unfortunately some of the recommendations are way out of date.

2 years is a long time in the tuning industry.

    Alex. :)

Infact I would like to hear your recommendations Alex as I am looking into cams atm but looking to go forced induction in the future..

  6. Brill day. Such good weather, love those roads too. Didn't do bad with the traffic considering I think. Thanks for organising it all dudes. Good to meet you all as well. We will have to get another one setup soon. Will post up what pics I've got later. Must get my slaver cylinder changed as well! Heat and town traffic do it no good at all.

O and I've now seen the most painful way to enter a car park thanks to Saskhi

Lmao i got excited haha! Overall great day thanks for organising it guys! Now i need better suspension me thinks and braided brake lines and I will be good for a next one! :teeth:

definately, get some decent brakes on that old barge...

you need to hang back a bit fom my rear end (unless you like it like that  ) - 'cos I'd rather not have you planted up there when I brake hard for those hairpins :surrender:

Haha slipstreaming :boxing: ! think the only bit I got it the worse was when we hit the gravel crb covered my car lol due a frontend touch up soon anyway :p

  7. I do have an observation from following you at pace - your car seemed to become unsettled more quickly than the other cars I followed, it looked a real handful. Not sure why though. Has it been 4 wheel aligned recently?

Yep... Your not wrong. It was a total handful and a lot slower on pick up (hopefully Horsham will sort that out next week).

As regards the handeling I've recently had some repair work done to the front suspension plus renewed discs and pads but it still doesn't feel right, even after I took it to be 4 wheel aligned (Hunter).

If I'm honest I've lost a little faith in my usual garage it's been back 3 times because I'm not happy with the brakes. Now every time I move from forward to reverse there's 2 clunks coming from the wheels (I'm assuming that's the pads slipping)

Anyone recommend a good garage in the gwent area?

My pads clunk a bit in the calipers, usually when stopping, then going in reverse, though. Doesn't do it at any kind of speed though and doesn't affect the handling of the car. It has always done it and others and other similarly braked cars have too.

In terms of the handling, the Hunter system will set it to standard. I've used with great success Andy at Avia Motors, Bridgend - No fancy computers, just old school know how, lasers and test drives. He doesn't let it go unless he's happy. He asks you how you want it set up - track, agressive road, even minimim tyre wear and he will work to get that using what adjustments you have on the car.

    Worth the journey.

oooh do you have a postcode for them? Will need an adjustment once I have her on some coilovers ;)

  8. Excellent, just excellent, apart from my lostness just at the end!

I learnt that on that route, on that day, driving like I did, my car will do 20.3 mpg and average 39 mph.

All of you are nice guys.

Goodyear F1's are damn good all rounders.

Braided brake lines are way better.

    O:-)
