  1. Congrats, enjoy and keep us posted :)

    Will do.

It already has a pop charger, Apex lowering springs, will need to investigate further when i get it home.

    List so far:

    Decent exhuast

Fit my Work Rezax 11's from my Rx7 (these will surely cuase some debate when you guys see the colour of them) ;)

Some interior mods: Double Din head unit, speaker and sub upgrade, retro fit cruise control

  2. HI guys. I went to look at a Zed today and was very pleased apart from a juddering when pulling away at low revs. Once rolling its fine, it also juddered whilst coming off the throttle at very low speed, whilst approaching a speed hump. Apart from that the gearbox seemed very smooth and not notchy.

I have done a search and see clutch, flywheel mentioned with a few people being affected, i can factor in a clutch and flywheel to my offer but thought i should ask, are there any other possibilities of the cause that could bite me in the behind?

    Thanks

  3.

All that said, we love 350zs and Fairlady imports

Whilst ever they turn you a profit ;)

Which is absolutely fine by the way, but, enthusiast you are not and that is what you are up against on here, i cant really include myself as i have not been here long enough or even own a Zed, "yet".

If someone buys a Zed from you with tyres not to manufacturers sizes, notice i didnt say wrong size as i am with Docwra, 5mm will affect nothing more than speedo reading imho, they are the perfect punter for you. However an enthusiast will pick this up and you have to expect a question surrounding it especially on the 350z forum, there is probably a lot of other things an enthusiast will notice too, its not right or wrong, its just some will be more precise with what they expect, arguing pros or cons will not get you anywhere, so its pointless discussing whether you think its right or wrong, dangerous or not, merely because its not to oem spec that raises their suspicions as to why.

But back to my first comment, you will be long gone and turning a profit on whatever other car you deem popular when most of the owners will still be here, "loving" their Zeds.

  4. Personally if I was going to get a respray I'd get a unique colour. A lot of people say it will hold it's value better if you get a factory colour, and I hear what you're saying about getting a bargain for a less favourable colour, but if your gonna pay all that money may as well be unique. I take it the car will be modified?

Sorry yes, if i were to get one in the "wrong" colour it would be sprayed something different to standard :)

Hopefully supercharged and suspension upgrades, but no wild bodykits etc., more of a sleeper, less is more and all that :)

  5. Sorry KitKat, i have a different view to most of the above it seems and some key words in your op:

"pondering about for a few weeks"

So presumably he hasnt had any other offers in those few weeks and to turn a sale down for the sake of £300 in this market is insanity imho, it doesnt really matter what the perceived value is its all down to what someone wants to pay or is willing to pay.

I have searched every day for two/three weeks (autotrader, pistonheads, ebay, gumtree etc etc), i watch adds come up for sale and sit there, ebay adds keep getting relisted, gumtree adds bumped, pistonheads with price reductions.

I will echo though if it doesnt feel right its not for you but i would almost bet the guy will be on the phone in another few weeks accepting your offer.

  6. Don't worry about what people think mate. Just pick a colour you like and go with it! It's your car after all.

Its never bothered me in the past, but i have never had anything as new and nice as a Zed before :)

I have had mine painted twice. Some people like it now, some like it before, some dont like either. Its your car so do what you want and what you think will look good. search for cars in google painted in the colour you want and make a decision. There will always be people on here which wont like whatever you do and will not sugar coat their opions but you just have to ignore them and enjoy your car.

I am not a stranger to the non sugar coated opinions on forums, lol.

I have seen a handful of painted/vinyl wrapped in my search but not many, which led me to the question on opinions from z owners, is it seen as sacrilege or met with approval.

I guess colour will also have a bearing.

The actual factory colours are all pretty good, coming from rx7's i am positively spoiled, lol, :) hence why lots of people appreciate a newer nicer colour on rx7's.

Will have to see what colour i end up with, hopefully it will be my colour of choice (silverstone grey) as i would prefer to put the money towards the eventual fi route, unless of course its cheap enough to justify the change :)

    Thanks all :)

  7. Hi,

As some of you may be aware I'm on the hunt for a 350z.

Now their seems to be dealer who goes through a few 350z's called Trade-links

    http://www.tradelinkcars.co.uk/

Anyone from here used before ?

Anyone know reason why I should or shouldn't buy from this company ?

Any information would be great Thank you.

    Anthony.

I am glad you asked this question as i am in the market for a Zed too and seen these guys have a fair few and constantly changing stock. Also realised a lot where imports, some fresh imports which is a bit bizarre with the jdm import market being pretty flat due to the shocking exchange rate, so suspicions were aroused.

I have also noticed cars selling cheap on ebay and then appearing as trade adds for a mark up, not sure this is a new thing, but guess dealers are scouring ebay/gumtree/pistonheads etc too

Pleased to have a had a heads up on these chaps though, thanks :)

  9. Think about what? :D

If you had 3 resprays you'll know more than us lot!

As for colours, maybe a black with a coloured flake. Renault black gold is one of my faves.

Ah like the Clio V6 :)

The cars i have sprayed are not in the 350z league though, they are older and where a colour change is accepted, sometimes almost preferred.

I am asking what are owners opinions of resprayed 350z's?

  10. Give us a bit more info...pics of your car etc.

It's an expensive thing to do if you want it done right and obviously affects resale.

Yes i know buddy, my last 3 rx7's were resprayed, the guy who does my paintwork is top notch, one of them was magazine featured so hopefully that speaks volumes for his abilities.

I am really interested in one, maybe 2 of the original colours which is limiting my buying options and it seems some colours are a fair bit cheaper.

Its just out of curiosity as to what z owners think :)

  11. Out of curiosity ladies and gents, what are peoples opinions on the above subject? I am not suggesting anything like a flip or candy, but a different colour to the original options?

  12. I've got a TT 350z running full APS kit. I understand APS have gone into administration and no longer supply parts. Anyone know of anywhere that still stocks any of there old stock? Or anyone that is breaking ASP kit off a 350z? Would like to try get my hands on the 3" race exhaust system if possible....

    Thanks in advance for replies..

Was this one off Pistonheads, seemed lovely if it was :)

  13. Does not the absence of anything helpful to be found on a 350 forum that has by far the largest following in the UK, not tell you something.....................?

Its not often as simple as that is it, there are often popular choices for good reason, support, parts etc doesnt always mean a not so popular choice is bad and seeing as there was no real mention of any faults i thought i would ask, seems to have rubbed a few up the wrong way so will leave it there.

  14. Then perhaps you should learn how to use the search function instead of cluttering up the FI section with amateurish questions :)

I did :) A search for Stillen didnt seem to bring up much at all, but thanks for your interjection, i am guessing you knew everything from day one ;)

No, I just did my own fecking research rather than relying on everyone else to put it on a plate for me :)

I did a search under Stillen, four pages of not a lot of info as to "why", so, i thought i would ask. ;)

  16. Well the time is getting closer, a few parts remaining from my breaking Rx7 so i am hot on the 350z trail.

It looks like i will get a standard one and then fi at some stage, hopefully soon.

I have been doing a lot of reading and searching, looking at others builds and the fi z list.

No one running a Stillen on there though? I know they have to have that ugly bonnet bulge and if i got one, i think i would get my mate to fab me up something far nicer. But the question is, why are there not more Stillens?

It may sound odd, but in my searches, they just sound stunning and dont want a silent kit or think i would just go the turbo route!

  17. I guess the problem with this kind of car (modified and huge £££ spent) is it is always going to pitched against what you can buy for the money. Sure it may be quicker than some more modern example as mention, rs4, m5 etc but its also slower than other cars that can be bought for less, rx7, skyline etc

Personally if i had the original sort of figure asked i would be buying a Nsx (right on the cusp though), sure it may not be anywhere near as fast, stunning to look at though, but if i came to sell it a couple of years later, its still going to be worth at minimum the same money.
