  1. good job it failed AFTER you had fully stopped and not as you were stopping or you might have had to change your user name to the brown trouser......

Yes - very lucky as it was pretty quiet at the time with no other cars around me and only doing around 45-50 mph.

  2. Braking hard this morning as traffic lights went to amber, the brakes brought the car to a halt but then the pedal went straight to the floor with no resistance whatsoever.

Got the Zed recovered to my usual dealer who said that the brake pipe/hose had split near to the fuel tank.

To replace it would mean the fuel tank coming out etc. etc. so not a small job.- but it's going to take around a month to get hold of a new pipe as they are not readily available and they don't like to manufacture their own replacements.

Zed is currently VOR and waiting for the parts.

Do I have any alternatives for sourcing a new brake pipe?

    Thanks.

  3. Glad you've got your Zed back - enjoy :)

I've found that in my 10 years of Zed ownership that there are short periods when I need to spend a lot of money - and long periods when I don't.

I tend to remember the long periods - and just enjoy the car.

  4. Don't know but that is one odd looking colour. Don't want to sound negative but for what they're asking I'd strongly suggest looking for a 2010 or later car with the Connect Premium sat nav. There's a black one on Autotrader for the same price - 24,000 miles and its a 2011 car.

Thanks. In the flesh the colour is more sort of graphite rather than silver (went to see it today)

Bit suspicious that its a 2009 plate with only 13k on the clock after 5 years and with 2 owners - my spider-sense is tingling

  5. I've recently become aware that I no longer get the hiss when I go to re-fuel - anyone have any ideas why this might be?

The only thing I've done differently recently is a 500 mile round trip, part of which was down some un-maintained country lanes (the kind where grass grows in the middle) with some deep ruts so there was lots of scraping and noise. :scare:

I checked the Zed over and there doesn't seem to be any leakages. Could driving down those lanes have cuased any damage to the underside that would affect fuel lines etc?

    Thanks for any advice.

    TT.
