  1. As much as I appreciate the thoughts behind this thread, all it does it to ensure that no-one gets a bargain.

If everyone knows about an item going for cheaps, then everyone bids and bumps up the price, so you end up spending more and losing the good value. I have no issue with folks posting a direct link up if someone has specifically asked for an item, but this generic posting of everything Zed-related on eBay does Zed owners no favours IMHO.

Not a dig at you Bradders, your motives are well placed, this is just a viewpoint. :)

  3. Am I the only one who didn't see a problem with the response from Mark? So he didn't quote every trader... He was helping the OP out, just like all the other traders on here who jump on threads offering parts but he actually mentioned other suppliers.

    Get a grip.

Tbh i agree Mark posted a few traders NOT just himself if a Mod has a personal issue with a trader or a person it should stay in PM not on a public forum to me it just looks like a Mod on a power trip Mark deserves an apology. But thats just my take on it

It's ok, it's not like Mark and Abbey motorsport have given this forum and its members a ton of advice and knowledge over the years. So if the powerful almighty mods are low on self-esteem and want to feel better by being king of the internet let them carry on.

  4. Ok cool, thanks for the replies! My steering feels a little skippy sometimes and can pull about on the steering wheel do wasn't sure if that would be s contributing factor. The car has been lowered do I reckon that it may just be the nature of the beast!

    Ed

You need your wheel alignment done. Sounds like the toe is out.

If you lowered it and never had the geometry done this will be your problem

Thanks for the reply Dave, it was lowered before I bought it but have had the wheel alignment done a few days ago and re-checked, all spot on. Is much better after alignment but I still feel like it's a little skippy.

What tyres do you run? You would not believe the difference a tyre makes. I had very skippy tyres on my E36, when I changed to PSS it was magical ^_^

  6. Nice wheels but not fully convinced by the refurb considering some of the close-ups. Seems like a good price and decent spec.

He must have done it himself because that is the roughest paint job i've seen in a long time. Also a bit annoying that he did;t make note of the specs before painting them. I'm guessing 9.5" and 10.5" et 22.

Wheels are very good value, though. I would snap them up if I was still in a Zed.

That's because it looks to me like they were shot blasted then Powder Coated, not sprayed. Nevertheless, the prep work doesn't look great.

  7. Good offer, still the wrong side of London for an instant 'yes' though.

Regarding bungs - are they really a permanent solution?

    No, they just screw in.

  8. haha ok.... it wasnt meant to sound dumb, maybe i worded it wrong! im fully aware my car will scrape now ive lowered it as all the cars ive owned have been lowered! what i meant was what do other people scrape on like sump, subframe or whatever! i also wanted to know if the sump sits lower than the subframe. sorry if i confused you!

    Ah I see, apologises.

I will be jacking mine up this weekend and ilk take a look at the damage lol.

I don't think the sump will sit lower than the subframe, although it will sit close to the ground.

I am fitting a sump spacer soon which I will certainly worry then.

  9. Sorry but this post did make me chuckle, a bit.

You've slammed your car and you're asking if its normal for it to scrape? Is it just me or does that sound like a silly question lol?

I dunno what to tell you, apart from that when you lower the car it will be lower to the ground... You will scrape in places.

Mine is pretty low also, which will see the ypipe and possible the sump to scrape. But I don't take it over uneven ground For this reason.

Sorry, don't wanna sound rude but just don't see what sort of advice you are looking for? Raise it up or live with it, it's your choice.

  10. Wow a Bank Transfer, what a shame.

Without rubbing salt in to the wound, why on earth would anything think of doing this.

Best advise I can give is talking to your bank, unfortunately if you think that reporting it to a fraud squad will get you the money back - Think again. Even if they did get caught, that money is already gone and they can't pay back what they don't have.

Lesson learnt, although an expensive one.

  11. Thanks for the replies... Feel like a prize **** now. Only went ahead as my bank told me I would be covered for the loss.. And surprise surprise ...now they tell me I'm not..... And may have lost 3800£..... Have reported it but police aren't bothered either...

Thought of going to BBC OR ITV to see if any program's deal with fraud.... *******....

    How did you pay?

  12. Hi mate, I went about bidding on this on the last auction. Did you watch the last auction? It went up to silly money IMO bearing in mind the cost to repair and resell value, it obviously fell through or didn't meet reserve.

You will pick up a Gen1 Cayman S in similar condition for less, that's what I would do.

When you say the cost is 10 - 12k, do you mean repair or the sale of the vehicle? Because it went for more than that last time...

Yes it runs and drives Neo.

    Good luck.

  13. Hello!

I really want to fit a set of side diffusers however I'm guessing they won't look as good with the oem front bumper. I really like the V2 front bumper but I'm not sure if it will work for me as there is very little clearance going up my drive.

I've heard the V2 front bumper isn't any lower than the oem. Is this correct?

I've attached a photo to show what I'm dealing with..don't really want to level the he drive but will if I have too!

    Thanks!

If that is how close you are on the OEM then you will scrape for sure. The V2 is lower, and the sidesteps will sit just as low.

Here is what I deal with lol...
