I regularly see a Mercedes on my walk to work in the morning with a number plate that obviously "gypsy", I think the plate is G1YPSY or similar.

I came out of my girlfriends last night to one of these on my front wing, it was as big as my headlight.
I cleaned it off as soon as i got home, neighbours already think i'm wierd cleaning my car so often let alone at midnight.
I decided to park inbetween a break in the overhanging trees under a lamp post as i'm fed up with my car getting covered in sap. I'll put up with the sap from now on.

A friend had a similar problem in an old car and apparently ran the heaters on full heat and fan for a journey and this sorted it.
Perhaps change pollen filter etc also?

Its a common problem with the Bose unit, search "left speaker cut out" or something similar.
The problem lies with a ribbon that wears inside the unit, there are guides on here somewhere which explain two to dismantle the unit and re-seat the ribbon, i'm not sure new ribbons can be bought now though.
I had this issue with my standard head unit along with CD's skipping and thought it easier to swap it out.

Is the heater dial set to auto, could just be adjusting the temperature as and when required?
If not, when i changed my headunit i forgot 1st time to plug back in the heater ribbon and the blowers went a bit crazy when i started the car, so worth checking that ribbon

I'm getting my mines replica fitted on Friday on my silver Z, just in the black gel coat it comes in for now while I decide what colour I want it.
It's my personal favourite splitter on the Z
I'll take some pictures Friday afternoon to help you decide.

If you struggle I have one I can post 2 you, it's used so needs some trim tape but I think I have a roll of that laying around somewhere too.

from another silver Hampshire owner, I'm in Eastleigh.
I hope you are enjoying your new car, we all know of course that you are loving it!

My car is in the shade until roughtly 11:00-12:00 so i get an early start.
for quick in between washes i've recently started using hand wash guys too.

I need to get round to doing this at some point, lack of tools and time hinders me though, such a simple fix.

On my walk to work this morning i spotted a couple of cars i've seen a few times from a distance, today you passed each other going in opposite directions.
You drove past me just after the roundabout by the BMW garage in Eastleigh/Chandlers Ford at 7:50 am
The sunset headed into the B&Q building
both standard UK cars with Rays wheels.

Should have said it is finished in black gloss coat and looking for what I paid.
It won't fit your car then scoota80 as the DE and HR model cars have different bumpers.
-
Where are you and what model 350z do you have.
I have the RT performance lip purchased on the recent group buy for a DE car '54 plate that I have had a change of heart about.
I won't post or courier though for fear of it getting broken. I'm near Southampton.

Sound like it could be 1 of the Camshaft position sensors that has failed.
I noticed you've already posted in atkins666 thread who had similar issues.
The only way you'll know for sure is to get the fault codes read.
I hope it's not too expensive to sort.

Headunit first, make sure when you fit the headunit you do the "Busters RCA mod" to make the most of the rest of the standard set up.
If you're still not happy then you can upgrade the rest.

Congratulations on your purchase. It's nice to read a good purchase thread from a newbie.
Brings back memories of buying mine and kinda renews my enthusiasm as i've been looking at cars this morning.

I can't make my mind up on other bits either, if a set of splash guards come up for sale i'd fit them with some Nismo rear bumper spats, or fit some Tarmac side steps.
I don't think i'd change the skirts or rear bumper other than that though.

The only picture I have on my phone at the moment. The splitter is not fitted at all at the moment.
I can get better pictures in 30mins when I'm home.

Hi all,
As i have no imagination at all i really need a bit of help deciding on what colour to spray my recently aquired Mines replica splitter from the RT group buy.
As my car stands at the moment the car is Blade Silver, the wheels are Gunmetal grey Rays, the front and rear Nissan badges have been replaced with Gunmetal grey 'Z' badges, i have clear front reflectors and if it matters Anthracite leather seats.
I also need my door handles spraying and i will probably get those done Gunmetal too.
Before buying the splitter i liked the idea of spraying the middle bar on the bottom of the front bumper, under the grill slats, matt black.
So i guess my options are:
Silver splitter
Gunmetal grey splitter
Silver splitter with gunmetal middle section
Silver splitter with matt/satin black middle section
Gunmetal splitter with mat/satin black middle section
Leave the splitter with the current gloss black gel coat
Satin/matt black splitter
So i'm looking for opinions on what others would do, i was planning on leaving it in the gel coat finish but don't want the car to be a mix and match of colours.
Thanks in advance for any opinions offered.

I use places like this sometimes as car cleaning products don't agree with the skin on my hands so every now and again i give my skin a break and cheap out
A place like this a few weeks ago in a local garden centre car park i went too slopped on some black stuff from a filthy bucket with a paint brush.
By the time i got home i had black splashes up the sides of my car, never again.
When i clean at home i've found Turtle Wax Wet and Black my personal favourite.
Anyone with Mines or RT replica splitter fitted
in Styling

Could anyone who has a Mines or RT replica splitter fitted tell me if the centre part of the splitter that covers the centre lip of the bumper covers the full lip?
I seem to have a gap where the splitter finishes and the black plastic slotted grill starts, as i have a silver car it stands out like a sore thumb.
I assumed upon inspection in the body shop this was normal (as it is an RT performance splitter being fitted by RT perfromance) so didn't question it, what i didn't notice until getting home was that the gap is slightly larger on the near side and i'm now thinking the splitter is faulty
Thanks, Jon
