  1. Had a plasti-coated front lip, colour coded rays centres etc, looked very clean & tidy
  2. Cheers, though all I can see on the outer circle is small lines at 3 & 9 o'clock? Jon
  3. My parking sensors do the usual mental bleeping thing. However at some point they have been painted over - I don't think they come like this from the dealer? The car is shortly having some work done at the bodyshop so I wondered if I should have them remove the paint? Cheers, Jon
  4. It takes a little more effort to use but more and more these days I just use a spare scissor jack, as Nissan provide. The advantage with these is that they don't chew your sills up. Cheers, Jon
  5. Yeah a bit suspicious that...though not too hard to find on ebay US. May go that route or see what the cheapy ebay UK ones are like.
  6. Thanks for the reply chap, as you suspected I really wanted a pair with OK ball joints, but I'll keep you in mind. Out of interest did you fit OEM or aftermarket replacements? It's a route I'm considering. Cheers, Jon
  7. Parked next to a nice example today on our weekly shop, had a 350z-uk sticker in the side window so assume it must be a regular. We were in our diseasal family car (good job as our Z is filthy at the moment, unlike this one!). Cheers, Jon
  8. Cheers, it's just a case of a having a spare set to swap the arms myself, as I don't have a press in my workshop. Jon
  9. If anyone has a pair of old compression arms that you want a few quid for, can you let me know? Doesn't matter if the chassis bush is knackered as they will be replaced with poly's. Ball joints need to be serviceable though please as I don't think these are replaceable. Cheers, Jon
  10. Personally I would just sit tight if you can park it off the road (ideally out of sight). As you say you will get a first warning if you haven't broken the rules previously.
  11. Unfortunately it's a legal requirement for all cars with xenon's, so there is no choice really.
  12. Oo nice one, I was under the impression they didn't.
  13. Have you got Brembo's?
  14. So that's what a (nearly) full fuel gauge looks like! Noise doesn't sound good, but I don't think it could be internals just in that specific rev range. I take it oil pressure is still fine? Hopefully a heatshield or similar resonating. You really need to pin down the location of the noise as difficult as that is if it only occurs while moving.
  15. Worth sticking a label on it come MOT time ("FOG") as technically it's a fail without it. Obviously you just take the label off again afterwards.
  16. Went off again this evening, so not the bonnet sensor - bugger. Does seem to be consistently 2-3 hours after a run that it goes off. Any help?
  17. Separate sound, actually not all that loud on my 350. However I do want to sort the problem otherwise neither I nor my neighbours will bother looking out the window when it goes off. It's just an unlock on the fob to disable, again on my 350 vs. 370. Have unplugged the bonnet switch so we'll see if it makes any difference. The bonnet is actually a little looser than I would prefer so this might play into the same theory, as does the changing the battery (having simply opened the bonnet). Cheers, Jon
  18. Googling seems to suggest the bonnet closure sensor, so gonna try unplugging that in a moment.
  19. Hmm, have also changed my battery, but a couple of months ago now.
  20. Hi all, my alarm seems to be a bit over-sensitive - going off seemingly at random sometimes - at least a couple of times per day. Is there something that can be adjusted or can I try arming the alarm without the internal sensors to narrow it down (in case of a faulty sensor or spider crawling across it)? Nothing on the search. Cheers, Jon
  21. Strange new suspension noise evident today, pulling into the nice smooth tarmac work car park at low speed. It's from the NSF and changes frequence with road speed and is just a dull clunk clunk clunk. Not over bumps (drop links are new anyway). I'll jack it up once home but wonder if it's most likely the rearward compression arm bush? But the consistent nature of it has thrown me a bit. Don't think its the brakes or similar (also new). I know this has been done to death so apologies for that. Jon
  22. Start with the cheaper stuff like drop links and work from there.
  23. Most likely is the hub backing plate catching the disc as they do run very close. Just need to ease it back a bit with a screwdriver. Cheers, Jon
  24. Watched it last night, awful cringeworthy stuff. I know they have to find a couple of 'issues' for Ed to sort but the turret rust looked like surface stuff to me, nowhere near bad enough to warrant grinding it out. As the missus said this sort of programme is where non-car people get their 'pub talk' knowledge from, no mention of the many different models of Skyline - GTR vs GTS-T etc.
