  1. no because the manufacturer specs include the speaker displacement. With the added spacer ring I have increased the volume, do will blank it off and fill with water again, anything over 0.75 cubic ft I can claim back with internal blocks.
  2. Finished the box off today. Shaped the back And added the top. Now that the prototype is complete, im going to knock up a couple more, will fix a few little niggles and see if they will sell.

    Tapping

How much does it usually cost?
  4. A vote for drury lane, all my cars go here.

    Tapping

Has anyone had the tappets/buckets changed? Big job?
  6. I had thought about that, but I didn't want the sub to be at a different angle than the face of the box. Once the box is covered I think it'll look alright and barely noticeable.
  7. Knocked up a spacer ring today and tested when i got home, the sub now fits the correct way round now And the terminals all the way undone, loads of room ha ha. Next up i need to shape the rear section and it should be good to go. I'm tempted to knock a couple more up and stick them on ebay, do people think that they would sell?
  8. Marked out and cut the front face to fit under the brace. Marked the hole for the sub and stuck it in. As you can see it fits just, but when the logo is the correct way round the damn terminals touch the base of the box. I didnt want to space the sub out, but have no choice now. Will knock up a spacer ring this week and see if it clears.
  9. I decided to try the simpler design first to see just how much volume it would have. And filled it up with water 22 litres, i needed 21.2, happy days
  10. Ok, so if it's worse case scenario, how big a job is the lifters?
  11. It just slides in under the rear brace like the ones from the us do. I often carry things in the boot, so wanted the sub facing the cabin to prevent any chance of damage.

  13. Very easy to do with vag-com, have a look on ukmkivs for people in your area with vag-com.
  14. Its all about the invidia true duel for me, lovely sound and very little noise at motorway speeds, not droney at all.
  15. Today i decided to mock up a box for this sub, pretty simple job i thought so quickly knocked this up out of cardboard. At this point i decided to try the sub and using 3/4 mdf it would still hit the bottom. Spaced the sub out 1inch and it still wouldn't clear using a 3/4 base! I'll have to use 1/2 for the base, but it will be fine. Next up i decided to quickly do a few calculations and i wasn't even close to the 0.75 cubic ft needed. Enter mock up mk2. I added extra depth and the pods on the side to try and get the 0.75 cubit ft that the sub needs. My next step is to transfer it all into mdf and see just how much volume i actually have. Will update when i get it done
  16. So, i wasn't happy with the level of bass that the stock subwoofer produces, had a quick look online and decided on this baby. Id planned to make some kind of enclosure behind the drivers seat, so ripped the car apart to take a few measurements. It was at this point that i noticed a slight issue! The damn thing touches the bottom of the hole on it's own, let alone once its in a box. As you can see, it's just a touch deeper than the bose sub. With that idea out of the window i had a look online and found the zenclosure site, the price of shipping was just silly.Nothing else to do but make my own then. I looked at loads of pics, but they all had the sub firing into the boot, id prefer it to fire into the cabin. Did a quick mock up to see how it would look the other way round and to check if the sub would actually fit. Looks promising!
  17. These are no longer for sale, please could a mod lock it.
  18. Bought these to put on mine, but gone off the idea of lowering now. Brand new in the box. £200 manchester http://i192.photobuc...zps4f12b611.jpg
  19. That does sound good, made my mind up on what's next anyway.
  20. Has anyone on here got one of those under strut sub boxes? Could you do me a massive favor and take down the dimensions of the actual box, not the curved parts but the box its self. Width, height, depth at top and bottom. Cheers.
  21. I'm after one of those under strut sub boxes, or if anyone has one would you take a few measurements so I could make one? They only seem to be made in the us and dread to think how much the postage would be!
  22. If in the north west I'd be happy to show you how to use a rotary. Not scary at all.
