  1. You bought a sports car, spend thousands on mods, spend thousands on fuel and insurance and you wouldn't spend a little extra for your safety in winter? In my opinion if you want to use it during winter you just buy a set of winter tyres, period. Winter tyres will last many years and will make a significant difference in low temp and snow. Even if there is no snow, in low temp summer tyres will not perform well. In slippery conditions or fresh snow you have no chance to get away with TC on and 1st gear in a 300 bhp rear wheel car... With the TC off the LSD should also help a little by not allowing one wheel to spin while the other stands still.
  2. Vredestein ultrac sessanta are known for having weak shoulders which gives a wobbling feeling in hard cornering. Grip is very good but the weakness of those tires are the shoulders not rigid enough.
  3. I am interested in the sub, is it working well? Do you ship outside UK? Regards, Catalin
  4. Do you still have the speakers? I am interested in the sub, is it working well? I am located in Bucharest, do you ship outside UK?
  5. Very OK for the gear box, I have it and recommend it. Smoother and less noisy than genuine Nissan. Many are using the same for the diff.
  6. If track results are no longer a valid benchmark for sport cars then what it is?
  7. The injectors are usually ticking. If it's not loud, don't bother. Water pump is also known for ticking.
  8. How to re-seal in case of condensation.
  9. Believe me, it's far from impossible. An official Nissan shop (dealer) has done it for me and now I have no condensation. I went to them with the problem and they offered to do the re-seal. It took 3-4 hours. I don't know exactly what they done as I left the car there and returned when ready but I suppose they injected some special material arround the joint between the glass and body.
  10. Just go to a shop and they will do a reseal. I had condensation and it is solved now. You don't need to replace the headlights.
  11. Hello from Romania. Very nice looking in white. Don't spoil it with decals, my opinion.
  12. Heatgun it's a must! Just find an indoor heated place and slowly heat up the part you want to remove step by step. Take someone with you to hold the heatgun and warm up the area while you slowly peel. Carbon wrap is more delicate to remove... Then try to clean what remains with a stain removal solvent made expecially to clean the car paint. You can go ask at a dealer for the solvent they use to remove the protective wax form the new cars.
  13. Thanks man, I really apreciate your offer. I'm not in a hurry so I'll wait until May if you will still have one available. If you have time then I'll take to a pub/club in return to have a taste of the Bucharest nightlife, I'm sure you'll enjoy. Just give me a sign when you come. Got rid of the underline!
  14. The Bose subwoofer is in good condition, working without faults? Do you ship to Bucharest, Romania? I can't take out the underline.
  15. I had S2k and now I have a 350Z roadster. Loved the S2k, great fun factor but more like a weekend car or track fun. The Z fits way better to everyday drive when you can't rev to 9000 RPM or for trips when you are not in the mood to force it. But when you want to be hardcore, you have the ressources. You feel more confortable and relaxed inside. Depends what you really want. If you want the thrill ocasionally or everyday joy with possibility to have fun when you are in the mood. The MX5 is good, but a diffrent league.
  16. Aaa, OK, I understand. You had other expectations and just wanted the thrilling fun factor. The Z too domestic for you in this case and driving it makes you feel farther from the road than in the S2000. The S2000 is more of an untamed creature. Then I hope the S2000 is the facelift edition but with cable throttle and no VSA. ) That's the one I had.
  17. Why did you change the S2000 with a Z then? Or was it the other way arround?
  18. EVOs and STIs are just a different category, fact. Put a T on a small displacement engine and the reliability goes out the window in exchage for massive power, fact also. Suitable for rally and competition if you tune them and have the cash for keep servicing after every run. You just can't have them all, it's compromising something to gain other things. S2000? That we can compare with the Z. Had one, great machine, but a pain in the ass if you want to drive it arround town on a daily basis and feel comfortable. Useless to tune, it's already maxed out, only if you want to spend a great deal of money just for "cosmetics" and sound. And aslo a fact is that the Z winns on track against the S2000. Yes, the S2000 corners better, it's fun to hear the F20 screaming at 9000 RPM, it's more like a "built for preformance" car but it's not enough to win the race. The Z is far form being perfect but gives enough reward to someone who wants to enjoy driving it every day and also have the fun factor at hand without being a millionaire. The debate here is just because people expected a racing machine without being ready to accept the compromises of that package. A race car is just not fitted for a comfortable everyday cruise. Here the Z is a wonderfull compromise in my opinion for those who want a spirited drive but not just a weekend track toy. You want a V6 NA Z, behaving like an 4WD saloon EVO with turbo, handling the corners like a spartan S2000 built especially for that and comfortable to drive every day, all at 10K price. Well, this is not possible. One just have to wisely ponder waht he wants, there are options out there for every one of us. It is not about which one is better than the other, but what suits better to each.
  19. Don't bother about the chattering on idle if it's not very loud and the transmission works without making other problems. If there are no strange noises or behaviour from transmission when you drive, it should be ok. Many can confirm it is a common sound of the Z that you will have to get used to. I read all that could be found on the net about this. Mine does it too, 2009 HR with only 20000 km. I even took it to the Nissan shop to be sure and they said is nothing wrong with the transmission. They gave me a signed technical inspection paper stating that it is common functioning noise and everything works within parameters. The Z transmission is loud, that's a fact and you can do nothing about this. You can also hear a sort of clunk sometimes when you step on the clutch in first or second gear at certain RPM and speed. People who changed from dual mass flywheel to single mass reported that the transmission noise is even higher... So if the clutch is not slipping i would not put a great deal of money in it for "just in case" reasons. And a worn thrust bearing should make noise WHEN THE CLUTCH IS ENGAGED not at idle. The only bearing that could make noise at idle is the one of the main gearbox axle, but should also make noise when you drive as it is always spinning.
  20. I had Honda CRX Del Sol B16A2 high rev VTEC, I had Honda S2000 high rev VTEC, I have an Accord 2.4 K24Z3 high rev VTEC. I love them all for their strong personality and high revs are a joy. All those engines are technological masterpieces and the B16 and F20 were world records of power per liter NA. F20 was a record of power per liter NA from 2000 to 2010 when Ferrari managed to beat it but an extremely higher price. Now I have since a few weeks a Nissan 2007 350z Roadster GT VQ35HR. The S2000 is a great car which I used to stare at just for the joy of admiring her simple lines and think about that I have in my yard 2 world technological records: HP per liter NA and the speed of the piston in cylinder of 25 m/s. But the fun starts at 6000 RPM, you need to get on mountain roads or track to enjoy this car and this is only max 10% of the driving time. It is definitely a weekend summer car. On mountain roads with the top down I had very much satisfaction driving her but in town is a pain in the ass and she has a tail happy attitude. You have to be careful and pay much attention to the road surface, otherwise you have surprises. I am 1.87 m and fit at the limit in the S2000. The S2000 is also noisy and I am not speaking about the drive train only, the interior is spartan and you only have the strictly necessary space. The Z is a more comfortable car which you can enjoy even in town and can be used daily. The engine is also a joy and it keeps the satisfaction of high revving, 7500 RPM of the HR is not negligible and the engine feels happy practically at any RPM. It is for sure a performance tradition sportscar with a great history and it is very quick. Feels a little heavy but the sound of the V6 and the exhaust is wonderful. Anyway, it is a performance car for sure and it has been designed for track use not for cruising. It is quicker than the S2000, the steering feels sharp and precise. It is less tail happy than the S2000 and with the traction control on you are safe as long as you are not stupid. For those who think that the Z is not matching the S2000 capabilities on track I recommend this video of Best Motoring: Those guys really know how to drive cars and push them to the limit. The S2000 is quicker on exists from corners but the Z counterparts this easily. As a conclusion, I would want both cars, no question about it. I had this dilemma and still have it. But if you can afford the running costs of the Z and want to enjoy it every day it gives you much satisfaction. At a resonable price you keep the tradition pure blood sportscar attribute, you have a track quick car, it has personality and you are the Porsche Boxter owner's nightmare.
