  1. 5k I'd be over the moon with, even 4.5k! Will lose £500 to my excess but that's how it goes I guess. It's a shame I cant just buy back certain bits that might be worth selling! Will definitely be taking my new mats out of there when I go to collect belongings Monday!
  2. Thanks buddy! Yeah, will definitely do that, will give me some negotiating power I guess! Cheers
  3. Cheers mate! Yeah that's the one, I saw the puddle and instinctively took my foot of the accelerator but looking back that may not have been the best thing to do. I was literally 30 seconds from home Will find a few examples for sale then, cheers!
  4. Thanks mate, I am devastated as I'd really grown attached to the car! But definitely got lucky, I keep having flashbacks of the spinning and it was terrifying in reflection. I have up trying to control it and just braced! I'd be quite happy with anything that starts with a 4 to be honest! Do they base it on the book price (I.e what someone like Parkers say) or do they tend to shoot lower than that? I guess it's in their interest for me to take the payment? Was thinking the same about buying it, unless they offer it for peanuts and I can make the money back quick with the sale of wheels and interior probably not worth the fuss
  5. Long story short, I lost the back end when one side of the car aqua planed over standing water on a slight bend going through a tunnel in Cardiff. Wasn't doing silly speeds but still managed to spin 3/4 times, front end smashing the wall and then bouncing around off the kerbs. Most important thing was I didn't hurt anyone else, no passengers and no-one else involved. Amazingly I walked away without any injury at all. Copper thought I was lucky to walk away at all! Anyway, car was recovered and taking to local depot. Looking at it I'm sure it'll be a write off. Suspension on the front seemed to be collapsed and one side has completey sheared off and while front and rear bodywork smashed up. Spoke to insurance and they said they can write it off over the phone without an inspection if I want and will give me a price on Monday. Firstly, any guesses what they might give me for it? (54 silver GT 110k) Secondly, if they give me the option, do you think I should buy it back to sell for parts. I think at least 3 wheels seemed unharmed somehow and I would think the engine and gearbox are all fine, GT interior in decent nick too. What would be a maximum price that it might be worth me buying it back to sell for parts? Typical all this in the week I started to look to change it, but could have been much worse! Cheers, Josh.
  6. December is a very quiet period for car sales so you can quite often get a good deal as the stealers have targets that they need to reach. It's worth keeping in mind though that a December 2014 car will have a lower resale value than a January 2015 car in a couple of years time, according to Glass's guide anyway. Pete Yeah thats something else I've considered. Might be worth waiting fir a 15 plate!
  7. I think you may be right mate, having slept on it I'm not sure there's enough difference between the 50 & 70 to justify selling a £5k car to finance a £38k car. Not doubting it won't be a much better car but not sure there's a £30k+ difference. Also a shame its missing a few goodies of the standard 370 and in fact my 350. Think I might do exactly what a few here have suggested and wait till the new year to see if there are still any sitting on forecourts and see if I can get a better deal.
  8. Seeing as I'm looking into financing one, would you mind if I asked you to maybe PM me some rough details of the deal you had? Assuming it was in finance! Hope that's not too cheeky, just want to make sure the dealer isn't trying to mug me off! Haha!
  9. Okay when you look at it like that it's not an amazing deal but he has offered me what he calls the fleet rates for a business customer. He did this because I told him I had a quite from a local I dependent trader and he said he would match it but I would still get the £1500 contribution from them plus all the other benefits ie servicing etc! I'm going to ring around other dealers to see if anyone can beat that but the figure of £390 a month was originally £440.
  10. Not now they don't. Are you implying you bought it? They have got a black one in now btw? If you've been lurking around the forum for a while you'll have seen that a few of us have the Mk1 Nismo. The only real difference in the interior of the Mk2 is the Recaro seats. Quality is very decent - not Porsche standard but very good and apparently all 370Zs are a big step up on the 350s interior (can't say myself as I've never owned a 350). Glad to hear that the quality is good, it's never bothered me in the 350 but a what are review of the new Nismo said it's very poor and a lot of rattles and shakes! And only just realised they don't have electrically adjustable/heated seats. Poor that something 8k more than a gt would have some missing features! They're no noisier than a normal 370. Not the quietest or smoothest ride but it's probably no worse than most cars that sit low down on fat tyres. Cheers mate! I've never even been in a normal one tbh and just looked online to see if there's any near me to go and test drive but the nearest one is 60 miles away!
  11. Congrats mate! It's that very car that made me want one so badly! Have you been to see it/drive it?

  13. The finance deal is a launch offer with delivery in the first week of December. Basically 8k deposit with £390 a month for 3 years. If I didn't take this deal he says I won't get the launch offer of £1500 contribution from the dealer and the next delivery would be March/April. Very undecided on what to do
  14. I know this has been discussed before but I'm looking for some help as I have been offered a deal on a new 370z Nismo thjat I will have to move fast on. Firstly, does anyone have any experience of driving/living with a regualr 370 and a 370 Nismo? Is it worth the price difference? The main reason I'm attracted to the Nismo is becuaee the new 15 one is the first time I've looked at a 370 and thought "I want one!". But driving wise am I oing to see much of a difference? Secondly, Is it worth trying to sell my 54 350z GT, which I don't owe anything on, and taking on a commitment (which I can financially deal with) for 3 years and beyond on a brand new financed car? Is the difference between my 350 and the 370N worth 3 years of £380 a month? I know these are very difficult questions to answer but just trying to get my head around a few options and without being able to drive a new Nismo I'm struggling to decide so looking for as much help as possible
  15. I'm very tempted to take up an offer on finance of the new 2015 370 Nismo. Problem is to get the deal I've been offered and to get the car before March next year I would need to move very fast to put my depsoit down. Delivery would be first week of December so would need the full deposit for then. My 350 is a 54 plate, 111K miles, FSH (mostly dealer), MOT till October 2015, recently resprayed front end and refurbished wheels. Paint condition on the rest of the car is okay/good I would say. I've had a look around and comparable cars seem to range from £4500 to £5800. What do people think would be a fair price for mine as that's quite a big range considering the cars are all very similar in mileage, condition etc...
  16. That looks awesome mate! Have you picked it up yet? I'm toying with the idea of ordering one in white (would never have thought silver would look so good mind). Having difficulties deciding at the moment after reading a few mixed reviews. Will be very interested to see what you think of the interior quality etc..
  17. Damn! Just need to find a friend working for Nissan!
  18. Right, I finally had the email with the quote from the Nissan dealer (Desira in Norwich) and somewhere along the lines there was a miscommunication. When I spoke to him over the phone he said it was a PCP quote but looking at the pdf he sent me it's actually a hire purchase quote with a final payment for £15k. Now obviously I don't want that. I'm going to go into my local Nissan (Wessex in Cardiff) later to have a chat in person and get a proper quote. Although you've put down more deposit than I would that's far more like the sort of deal I was hoping for. Can I ask what dealer that quote was from and when? The interest on the hire purchase quote was 4.89% btw!
  19. Yep and also obviously the car is under manufacturers warranty the whole time too, if you want a brand new car it is one of the easiest ways to get it on the driveway but don't think you are avoiding the depreciation because you are not Genuine question then, becuase as I say I don't fully understand finance yet! - How does the depreciation affect you if you have a minimum value after 3 years and just plan to hand it back for a new model? The hand back value will be weighted in the dealers favour so they can still make money and the difference between what the car was new will be the depreciation Yeah I get that the minimum value will be weighted in the dealers favour ut if you know what it is from the outset and you're happy with it then you don't need to worry about what it will be I guess?

  21. £30kish on a bank loan is a huge amount though no? I assume you would need the full amount to purchase the car if you didn't finance it?
  22. It's not quite that simple. Unless you've spent your time saving, you'll have no deposit for a new car so you need to find that. Ah, but I can use the equity in the car as a deposit! Yeah, if you have any: Finance people don't get rich by making errors like how much a car will be worth after 3-4 years... You could end up with a couple of grand equity, but equally you could end up with nothing if the market crashes or you picked a car that nobody else wants (a pink diesel Focus is going to be hard to shift!). Or you might go to a different manufacturer as you want one of their cars instead, and suddenly your equity is gone as they won't give you what you need to clear the finance, so you have to hand the car back and start again. PCP only really works when you have a LOT of spare cash you don't mind losing, or if you know you can save enough to cover the PCP at the end. Don't get me wrong, that's how I've financed some cars in the past and I lost a load, but it was totally worth the experience and I could afford to do it. If you know you're never going to pay the PCP figure off at the end, and you never have any intention of doing so, there's an argument that says you might just as well get a lease instead. Cheaper, less risk, guaranteed end dates etc. Just my two cents, anyway. Not trying to lecture anyone as I've done the exact same thing and it was awesome, but there are pitfalls to be aware of. I can't argue with you as admittedly I don't understand car finance fully, however just a few points on that. - The deposit would be from selling my 350, would probs get 5k for it and a 3/4k deposit seems to be quite decent against a 38k car? I know finance people do make thier money somewhere, but what you say about the car not being worth anything, isn't that irrelevant if you have a guaranteed value at the end of the 36 months? Anyway, I'm not saying everyone should do it and tbh I've always said myself I never would as a car nut like me could get a lot more fun with a 10 year old japanese rocket for a lot less than a brand new car but a couple of things have swung me recently. Firstly, having gone to the BMW showroom with my mate to pick out his brand new 235i, I realised there are a lot of attractive benfits to buying new. The interiors of new cars these days have come on A LOT! His 2 series M sport and these Nismo's make my 350z interior look very poor, and I know it has always been a weak point of the Z but the difference was incredible! Also, along with the same friend my father, who has to be the most sensible person when it comes to money and finance I know, has just changed from buying 3 year old cars every time to taking out finance on an Audi with the view to get a new one every 3 years. I figured if it makes sense to him, who am I to argue! Haha! There must be enough benefits and positives in using finance for so many people to have brand new cars these days? When you see someone driving a brand new 3 series or simialr the chances they didn't have the cash to buy it outright?
  23. Tbf, I've always loved GTR's, not really been great lookers but I've always thought I wouldn't care about that and the performance would make up for it. While that is still true, recently I think they've started to look very dated and quite boring. Compared to the spanking new Nismo 370 I saw the other day in white, an 09 GTR looks plain dull!
  24. Trust me, I have definitely thought that there are a few cars I would prefer for the same money or less. I've looked at the GTR's under 40K and I love them, I've even looked at far less sensible options such as Noble's Problem is though, I don't have £40k burning a hole in my pocket. Having just bought my first house the only way I could afford a 40K car would be on finance and you won't find many deals to finance a 5/6 year old GTR etc... Plus, depreciation isn't really an issue as at the end of the term you just hand the car back for the guaranteed value and get a new one Having said all that, I'm not looking to change anytime soon, especially if the monthly paymets are more than my mortgage, as i've been quoted already . Just looking to suss it out and possibly change sometime next year.
  25. spacers will be springs nope Guessed that would be the case! Cheers!
