  3. So her new rings are being fitted Thursday, just so their done as its that stripped down, and then I need to get the heads dropped off the be cleaned up an valves ground an sorted Then build the gal up with a new clutch
  4. It just wants topping up, I bleed mine up the other week after it had been stood empty for about 6 months no problem at all Hope this helps
  5. Had the bottom end looked at by s machinist it's all ok, so he said at most new rings now it's out, and get the heads sorted

I believe that's where my compression fault is, an by the time it's been bored, an got over size rings an pistons price is mounting up to in excess of 700£ as a block with pistons should be less , But I'm taking off to be measured up and to see if it needs boring, or weather new rings and a light hone will cure it, As the pistons do wobble side to side slightly

  12. Hi buddy, my compression is right down to around 105 psi. But I have just got my heads off and my bores are not damaged their is a tiny rocking movement on almost every piston, I'm talking about a milimeter if that, So I think I will get away with honing an new rings,

  14. Yeah I have a couple of good garages that are gonna sort the bottom end an attach the heads, Gonna do my clutch while it's all apart, so it's trouble free for a while
  15. It's off thank god, now just got to get the chain cover off, proving a weird one has the lower half got to be off? For it to come off just the bottom end stuck up now
  16. Anyone have any hints or tips to getting the crank pulley off? I don't have a compressor, would be nice if their was a way to lock it up
  17. Got them off thank you Power steering pump and alt is off, belts an idlers are off, Should have it all apart an out by the end off the week,
  18. I shall have a pop at it to mo and hopefully start getting the chains and cams marked up ready to pull the heads off see what's wrong with the gal, Hopefully an unscored bore, and shafted rings get her alive an kicking soon

  21. Hi all I'm currently stripping down the engine, and came across an issue with A wiring plug I can't seam to get it off!! It's on the rear of the heads one of them is black and the other is green How on earth do you unplug them??? I'm sure I will have other questions soon but this one confused the hell out of me Thanks Jon

  25. hi all as you know i bought a 350 to bring back to life, an was the rings were shot, humm think he might of been telling porkies hears the sound of the engine running and with my brother reving it, what do you guys think? and this is my only concern, black smoke which also smells nasty almost like rotten eggs which i always thought was air/fuel ratio or mixtures, the car was stood for 6/7 months and i have had normal petrol put in it plus its a jdm
