  1. Nice! A Fiesta ST as a Hand-me-down! I bet he can't wait till you decide to get rid of the Zed Congrats on the new purchase He does not know he is having the ST!! That is the fun of it. He thinks im just popping down to show off the Zed and take him for a blatt up the moutains. The wifey is driving the ST down for him. Cant wait to see his face TBH! He has had no luck with the jobs he has taken on. A company went bust as he was about to become a store manager, he was training to be an electrician and they laid off half their staff. He has not gone to Uni and has worked damn hard to succeed (as he is not the most academic of souls) so he deserves a reward.
  2. whereabouts in Wales are you heading to ? Im from Bridgend. Literally popping down on the Friday to deliver my brother his new car (for his surprise) then Sat avo popping up the Black Mountains then back home on the Sunday
  3. PDK replacement £15k?????????
  4. Good. That is the whole point. Im loving it so far and Ive hardly driven it in the dry. Once I have my Welsh mountain blatt and I get out with my mate (VX220) for some fun I may end up at the same point as you.
  5. The mix is getting changed on Thursday so should be ok. Having different front and back isnt ideal (OCD maybe) but atleast I will be able to trust the rears once I get the Falkens on. To be fair ive only mananaged to get the TC engaged a few times and thats when it was sodden and I was being a bit silly to see how much grip the budgets gave. I am pleasantly surprised by them but I still have that nagge doubt so they are coming off. Next carmay well be a VXR8 but we will see. Thats a few years off yet.
  6. No no your not. I love watching people with serious skill. Im not a bad driver at all but being able to watching someone who can (or more to the point has the cahunas) to pus hthe car to those points is thoroughly enjoyable.
  7. Hope you get some dry weather mate. You will love it. And the noise.........Its just so addictive. Just watch your speed!!! Its very easy to go to uh oh territory. Ive just ordered some 452's for the rear to replace the horrible Capitals on there are at moment. The RE040's can stay on the front for a little while though.
  8. I appreciate your attempt to answer my question and you sort of did in a way. You have stated you are proud to be English and part of it is a result of the nationalism of those around you rather than through an English cultural route. It sort of makes my point for me in that England and the English lack a cultural route and cause (if that makes sense)? Part of my arguement at Uni was that England is such a mongrel of a nation that it neither has or has ever had a sense of identity above its current political or sporting means. Being English most of the time can be completely replaced as being British without any change in the context. And I believe colour and racial boundaries are quite a different social arguement to identity and culture. For instance, I am white (too white really. I couldnt tan if I fell on the sun) but so was William Wallace or Stalin. Although racially we could be deemed the same, nationally and culturally we are very different.
  9. Yes me too. I just wasnt manly enough to admit it first. Had funny rollercoaster tummy at times the speed he was carrying.
  10. Caught this on youtube. Prob been posted before but still.......... That guy: A) Must 'live' at the track Have some serious talent C) Testicles so big he has had to take the passenger seat out to accomodate them. I prob going for all of the above!!
  11. Genuine question. One I asked during a University lecture many moons ago that couldnt really be answered. I understand what it is to be Welsh, Scottish, Irish........but what IS being English? The Celtic nations (just for eg) have a very strong cultural identity, a depth of history that is relatively isolated to their own nations (with varying degrees of outside intervention) and long periods of repression. What makes English English? Most of not all of Englands history has been created as British (with or as a result of an action of their celtic neighbours) or performed by non nationals (Continental invasions since the begining of recorded history). I really am not trying to instigate anything as id would genuinely like to know what people see as English/British or do people chose the name to fit their audience? Yes it might be a bit deep but its a question when asked people struggle to answer. Football is a common one but surely that shouldnt form the basis of a cultural identity? Then you have the 'bull dog spirit, churchill etc. But isnt that intriniscally British? People refer to the Tudors (A welsh Dynasty), King Arthur (A Briton/Welsh), Richard the Lionheart (French/Norman who hated the Isle of Britain) Anyone loud and proud to be English care to hazard an answer? **Please please please do not take anything i have written out of context as at not point is it intended to insult**
  12. I am absolutely loving the car (even if it is hammering down). Didnt intend to buy it and had my mind set on a Monaro but I am so happy with my choice. Great car, great community. As you can all tell im gushing quite a bit. Just wish it would dry up a bit as this im my first foray into RWD and inch deep puddles on less than average roads is not the place to learn!
  13. Its pouring with rain!!!! Bloody typical! I managed to get some time off work for a few days after picking up my car and it rains!!!! Again!! As it has done for nearly 3 months! Yet I still cant use a hosepipe!?!?!
  14. Yeah, I had mine replace before picking up my new car as someone had clipped a speed bump in it, but id also like to know what its for. £90 is a lot of money for something that does nothing.
  15. There were no facelifts in my price bracket at a mileage I considered decent anywhere near me unfortunately. I didnt actually intend the buy the car. I went for a look around and to show my dad what I was looking at getting. An hour later I had paid a deposit. I am more than happy with her after a few hundred miles of driving today and returning a healthy 25/26 mpg as well!
  16. Yes its July 2006 reg. Not ideal with the tax but whats £200 more over the space of a year?!?!
  17. Im taking a trip home to Wales soon as my brother fancies a mooch around the new car. What he doesnt know is he is getting my old Fiesta ST (seen in the background) as a present for graduating from uni this summer. A bit of an upgrade from his 1.6 Seat Leon. I can feel a day out in the black mountains coming along!
  18. Finally picked her up today after waiting 2 weeks for her to have a decent service etc...... Its the only pic I got today as I was busy playing and then it rained!!!
  19. Looks good and the car is looking less midge splattered than I was expecting. Please tell me you have the legs on your mate when you depress the loud pedal!!! Very jealous!
  20. Almost all of those cars look truely awful. Plus it had our control room flipping out with all the calls going in about 'boy racers' travelling around in convoy ha!
  21. How much experience do you have of women insulting your manhood??? You tone suggests its a rather regular occurance?
  22. Dont listen to him. He looks like a gorilla thats just decided to become a monk
  23. There isnt a chance in hell id be brave enough to post a picture on here though - I feel a little like this guy if it helps and definately dance like this although my friends tell me im a at the age of 28!
  24. 6 more sleeps till I get mine! Is it really sad that I cant wait to clean and wax it? Hope you enjoy your roadtrip!!!
