  1. double post... delete me! one of those days
  2. No longer available, OFF TO NEW HOME! As above, Free OEM air filer box, note one fitting on top right of pic is missing, shouldnt move around once hoses hooked up and bottom fittings in. Pick up preffered obviously, could post but guess it'll be around £10 due to size. Located NE Scotland, but travel around a bit so possible to meet. Cheers
  3. Just changed mine (again!), if the caliper bracket bolts aren't seized it's a straightforward DIY with a trolleyjack and a few tools. The 1st time I did mine however they were solid, had to resort to a blowtorch eventually. As for pads, just fitted my 2nd lot of yellowstuff, great from cold, zero fade, even when you set them on fire at Nurburgring... (see updated profile pic for before and after!)
  4. You pass enough exams in 5th year and head straight there after the summer break. I could have gone early too, but stayed on for another year playing pool and table footie in 6th year so i was 18 (and legal to get into pubs) when I hit uni
  5. Also, i've found the traction control to be pretty useless in snow/sheet ice, by the time it has any idea what's going you've either corrected it yourself, or you'd be backwards in a ditch. So stay awake!
  6. That's what I did! WRX estate, got carried away and now have a set of winter wheels and tyres, EPIC in the snow Smuggest guy around when the skies fall! But i'm up North in Aberdeen... I drove the 350 for 2 winters before I picked up the WRX, and it was just a hassle, I was getting stuck in the city centre if if it snowed whilst I was parked for more than 10min. Do-able, but not fun, well, unless there's a big empty to space to give it the beans As before, depends where you live and if you really NEED to be able to drive all winter. If so, i'd grab some winter tyres, probably cheaper than your insurance excess... Have fun!
  7. Up in 'sunny' Aberdeen. Never even heard of Plus gas releasing fluid! Will have a wee look and stock up. Does it matter if it fits in the holder, or can I just cable tie it so it doesn't rattle around... Any idea if you can buy the pipe joint pre-made or would I need to use the old one as a template?
  8. I'm 'oop North so pretty much leave the Nissan in the garage all winter, but I've got cooper weather masters on my WRX (in the winter), excellent in the snow, fine in the sun and ok in the rain. Naturally it's AWD so will handle differently to a 350, only issue is that it understeers a bit more in the rain than on summer tyres, but in the snow, LEGENDARY!!!!!!! Winter tyres are well worth the investment, once you've tried them in the snow you wont go back.
  9. An hours labour is great value, parts are quick and easy to fit (if bolts aren't seized...) but bleeding easily takes 30min and is a PITA, and may invlove agro with the other half!
  10. Hi Guys, As above, was experiencing the dreaded 'floppy pedal', put in new HP fluid and new slave, but when I came to fit the new braided line the nut on the hardpipe wouldn't move and is now pretty rounded (despite using flexi head flare nut spanner) so still running with old rubber line. On the plus side, the clutch pedal feels 80% better, but when hot that 20% really bugs me. Any top tips? Already tried Wd40, reluctant to use heat and don't want to mangle it any more than it is already... Or it is just mole grips to get it off and then hope it tightens enough not to leak afterwards, or cut the pipe and re-flare a new nut on there? Or just live with it?! Cheers Wideboy
  11. As above, try topping up your brake fluid, as in to the max line. Worked for me.
  12. Summer is here so i'm sure a few of us have noticed dead fans whilst stuck in traffic! For Sale BRAND NEW boxed fan motor, replaces either fan motor. £100 (including recorded delivery). Paypal preferred, or cash (NE Scotland). I fitted 2 of these last summer and have no issues since Thanks
  13. How'd you manage to snap it?!
  14. Bosch for the win. Don't skimp on: Tyres, brakes, or vision
  15. I've got the same issue as above, but only occured after fitting a new clutch. Had the garage do a bleed as per ZMans instructions, was great for 1000m, now playing up again. Time to harasss ZMan again I feel!
  16. Although the optimate site may have just answered the above... http://www.optimate.co.uk/optimate%206.htm
  17. Thanks for the replies guys. My battery is pretty flat after about 3wks of non use, so is it better to leave the trickle on when I know i'm not going to use the car, or just let it drain and then top up a few days before use? (I work offshore so the car is regulary abandoned for 2weeks at a time). Cheers
  18. Could be worse, pulled a live pheasant out of the neighbours volvo last year!
  19. Hey Folks, Living 'oop North in sunny Scotland means that the car's often left hiding in the garage for weeks if not months at a time. As such I regularly need to jump start it when the snow clears. Is it better to hook up a trickle charger full time, disconnect the battery or just jump when required? I fried a battery last year by over charging when I went offshore... Cheers Wideboy
  20. Good effort, rebuilt mine too, one is now 100%, the other still fooked!
  21. But are the fans the problem if they still work with a little VERY gentle help? Or is there something else causing the issue?
