  1. I tried driving like miss.daisy for past 2years and got average 26mpg, as i always come into motorways and street roads. On motorway i got around 32-34 driving miss daisy.

For the past month, ive just been booting the car and messing around not caring about fuel, and im getting 22mpg average, includes motorway and street. So now, i dont care about looking at fuel gauge. for the sake of 2mpg, i cant floor it for 8hours straight so i take little notice of changing gear at correct moment now, unless im really not fussed about going fast.

Me booting the car isnt redlining it though. Tend to change around 4k-4,5k revs and going from 2nd/3rd gear flooring.

I wouldnt say you achieve much better mpg trying to drive sensible. But im sure others on the forum will disagree and either i suck at driving for good mpg, or i suck at flooring the car. Either way im happy.

  2. I have officially been a e-cig smoker for the past two months. At first it wasn't that easy, but after two weeks my whole opinion changed! I have no desire to pick up a cigarette. As the smell/ taste is nasty. Ha.

I use the totally wicked tornado-t. Which is a good starter one. Good value.

Alot of people are using tornado at my work, which top do you have? the string at the top or string at the bottom? Always find those with the string at the top are useless after the bottle is half empty.

  3. I do believe it needs regulating and more impartial research to be fair. Some of you have said that you only but UK produced products, without regulation I wouldn't trust that statement. After all we trusted the major food distributors that we were buying beef.

This will come in time, I believe the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) is already considering how to implement regulations/guidance as to how eCigs will be regulated in the UK, both from a perspective of the vapours inhaled and the devices used to inhale. This will then likely open the door to the taxman taking his significant cut so would expect prices to increase as they have done year on year with cigarettes.

They will 100% put the price up and tax the hell out of e-cigs. The government make a fortune on tabacco tax, quite bad really, trying to make a profit on addiction, but one day barely anyone will smoke. Even in the past 5 years there has been a massive drop in smokers, and obviously a massive hike in electronic cigarettes, even though they have been around for years upon years, its quite a big deal now. So, where do they get the extra money when no1 smokes? either smack up some tax on fuel or other products, or, just hit the smokers again.

Aslong as they dont be stupid with tax and import prices etc etc etc, i wont have an issue paying a few quid more for certain items. At the moment its £5 a little bottle, they probably make them for 20p, middleman sells at £1, and we buy at £5. Aslong as im not paying 10-15 for a tiny little bottle itll be fine. Otherwise, no-one saves money and they move onto the next thing. (hopefully some cool little gadget you can play around with aswell  )

  4. I think its normally obvious if someone is actually smoking or vaping. Granted you need to be close to see it as smoke is smoke unless close.

Personally i dont agree with vaping in close proximaty to some random person, as if you can imagine the whole cinema doing it, except 1 person. Their going to be smoked out to hell and it all gets banned. If im sitting at the back and no1 near me, ill use it because its no smoke infront of screen, or near any1 so cant anoy anybody. I can see the point of it being annoying though.

Would put up a good argument in a court though. Smoking is bad because of health. So cant smoke in a cinema.

But, if vaping is annoying people, i could argue for hours about the constant russling of popcorn and pick and mix, talking children, say im on a diet and i dont want to see people around me eating  but i do see where their coming from with the vapour. But, if im in a building, standing in a corner away from everyone using it, whats the big deal?

  5. I was sooooo happy when the smoking ban came in. Wouldn't want to go back to being in pubs and restaurants breathing in other people's smoke thank you very much.

E cigs is water vapour. Its just like having 20 people in a pub boiling water in a kettle.

I am on e cigs and still agree that theres time and place to use it. Im not saying I would stand outside and smoke it, but I wouldnt smoke it in a cinema

  6. As far as e cigs go, they are safe within reasonable use. Drinking liquid is bad buy that doesnt take much common sense to know. If you suck too hard you can damage your lungs and throat, this is never mentioned but should be.

As for recreational for non smokers, you get non nicotine ones which is just like the sheesha pipe (however its spelt). There isnt actually much harm in the uk produced liquids. The imported can be made with certain chemicals which havent been tested yet so, uk produced is fine but I tend to stay away from imported.

As for the title, its a bit of sarcasm. Smoking has never been cool as you get older. When your young I presume its peer pressure. I started at 22 and was more out of pure boredom on tour than anything. 20 guys out of 25 smoked so everyone was in the smoking area 24.7, so thats how I started. Just getting to the point of e cigs being cooler than normal cigs as atleast your trying to get away from the unhealthyness. As reiterated before, I have no intetion of giving up nicotine addiction as I like the feeling. I dont drink much and never done drugs, so its just a hobbie really. (Sounds bad but it basically is)

  7. I think the reason places dont allow you to use ecig inside is just down to the fact its still smoke. It does linger around for a while even though just water, its probably wanting a "clear atmosphere"?. I would agree with them though, if 30 people in pub smoked ecigs the place would look like a gas chamber

  8. I quit nearly 7 years ago now (1st Feb, to be exact). Piece of cake, best thing I ever did. In that time, assuming £6 a pack and a pack a day, I've saved £15K by not smoking. B)

Seriously guys, just quit. Just stop. It's irritating for the first couple of days, then it's actually not so bad. All this electronic cigarette stuff is a little bit ridiculous if I'm honest: You either want to smoke properly 'cos you enjoy it, or you don't want to smoke at all. Halfway house just seems like a bit of a cop out to me.

And yeah, nowt worse than an ex-smoker, I know! :bangin::lol:

Should do a challenge or summat. All quit together, first one to give in gets mocked and tagged, last one left gets a goodie from a trader. Or summat. I dunno. Incentives to not smoke or whatever.

I have e-cig because i like the throat hit, i dont care about being addicted to nicotine. Im sure people are addicted to caffine and dont even realise it because they dont go without it. Put 50 random people in a field for 2weeks with simple rations, and they'll crave something their addicted to without knowing.

If you enjoy smoking, and dont enjoy the cost, e-cig is the way forward.

If you dont enjoy being addicted, as you said, cold turkey is the way forward

  9. Im guessing most of your reasons are, it gets you outside and socialising.

E-cigs are taking off very fast, you can still go outside with your electronic cig with friends. You will find that once your on the e-cig a while, you wont want to go outside as they stink. All my friends who smoked are now all on e-cigs, so u can chill in the room and smoke. My friends who never have smoked dont moan when its raining and i just want someone to talk to while having a smoke outside, because i just smoke it inside. its only water vapour so no harm done.

After a week, youll find you still crave a fag, but its not the nicotine, its just simply the feel of a cigarette etc. However, after 2 weeks, if the craving is still there massively, try a cigarette. youll find the smoke makes you sick, you get barely any nicotine hit and just bear in mind your cost of the habbit.

If your rich as hell, and all your friends smoke, the only issue is your health. Thats a bit more important than socialising with a cigarette to be fair. Im pretty sure everyone thinks "im fine, no-one in my family ever got lung cancer", until you actually do and theres no turning back. Go with a starter kit, higher mg (24 on average is highest), smoke it as much as u want, all day every minute if u want. Youll get bored of the new toy smoke and smoke it normally eventually. Just be aware, if you feel sick, its because your body is telling you to calm down as it will recognise nicotine poisoning coming on. (you have to drink about 200ml of 24mg nictone in about 10seconds to actually get poisoned), but its just your body telling you it doesnt like it.

After a month, i honestly do prefer elec to real cig. I didnt think i would, and stopped because of money and, im moving back to scotland and parents didnt know i smoked. So there was no way i could hide it, so went electronic. And even nights out, not fussed about cigarette.

Socialising isnt a good enough reason to keep smoking, if either... your health, wallet or wife/family/friends detest you smoking.

  10. ^^ *I'am :D;)

Just payback for the other night Dan. Re: there/their.

    Touche

Either "I am" or "I'm"

i used one for a while, then i realised because theyre not 'bad for you' i was just chugging away like mad and before long i wanted more cigarettes than i had ever done before  ... cold turkeys the only way!!! :surrender:

I found i smoked the e-cig 24/7 just because i could, but i think that was because it was new and like a little toy. Now after a month on the good one, i dont really use it that much.

  11. I'm a smoker and tbh I doubt I'll ever use these e-cigs.

My boss in work bought one to try & I tried it too but just didn't compare for me to my cigarettes.

He spent around £80-90 odd on his one so I'm assuming it was one of the best ones available but even he's stopped using it now after only a few months.

You really have to want to give up smoking imo to be able to stop or for these things to work for you which I don't. Glad it's helped for you though.

I had a cig a few days ago, and i think now i get a good hit from e-cigs, the fag done nothing for me. at all. Felt sick with the smell of smoke, and didnt get any nicotine hit. But, this was after about a month i stopped caring for cigarettes. Takes a while for you to adjust to e-cigs tbh. £80-90 isnt that much tbh. I was looking at buying a battery for £60 lol, but decided against it since i didnt actually need it.

  12. Started smoking in 2011 on tour, seemed like the cool thing to do at the time, either that or at £7 for 200 just seemed too good a deal for a non-smoker to pass by. Decided it was time to quit a few months ago when I was finding it hard to decide wether to spend my last £10 on food, or a pack of 20, and moved to the electronic cigarette.

Now, it seems that everyone who was a smoker is on one. It's the way forward, even if you still cant smoke it inside cinemas, train, pubs, It saves you money and tastes good. 120 guys at my work, around 60 smoked in 2011, now theres around 30 on e-cigs and 10 normal smokers. Guessing its just not that cool anymore.

I started with the SkyCig, looked like a cigarette but gave very little throat hit and costs quite a bit. Just a useless piece of kit.

Moved onto the iBreathe starter kit. Which was good, didn't like any flavour other than Menthol, but the starter kit is only meant to last 14days, so the wick burnt out, started tasting horrible and had no idea why. Bought new top, after a week, horrible taste and went back to cigarettes.

My father stopped smoking after 30 years, and was using KangerTech Protank II, it looked pretty good, pricetag was high of £70, but decided to go with it. Went to ZenVapour shop in Livingston and they had around 40 flavours lined up, tried them all and made my choice. Pizza flavour was not one of them. Changeable wicks at 2.00 each, and fluids at £5 each.

Been awesome so far, and would recommend the latter one to those looking for better e-cig.

So, who else Is on them? And which one did you go for?

  13. Why would you be eating ice cream ? Remember 1000 calories from sweets isn't the same as 1000calories for veg and chicken

I was following one of the recipe's from online. From what i seen, the peanut butter was where most calories came from? Could be just to add a taste to it i guess?

edit: ideally I would like to utilise shakes in my diet, as im on the go quite a lot and can drink calories easier than I can eat, so its an easy thing to grab and drink on the go. Would the be any issue with this compared to chewable food?

  14. normally a doctor just says "come back in 2weeks if your feeling the same"

Theres a time and a place to use evolution, the reason women cant be on frontline fighting, the reason males fight one another easier than women, but its been a long time since we were chasing antelopes  They didnt have a frappachino back then to cool them down

  15. I've done mine with blue plastic conduit off eBay, looks ok :)

    photo_zpsf3aa7014.jpg

That does look quite good, but i think because you have the rubber liquid hoses, it all matches in. Where as id still have the black oem hoses, i think blue conduit might stand out too much in bad way?

  16. Dean, I love these cheap mods you are coming up with but I think I agree with vlad, conduit looks fine.

P.S. are you on extended leave or are you trying to get your headlights onto every topic simultaneously?

    keep the cheap mods coming!

 I have 2 weeks left in air force, so i work 8am-9am at the moment.... i have a bit of spare time and all i can do is: play Call of duty, watch youtube fail compilation, and chat on the forum :( what a sad life i have haha

For largest diameter, not really sure - depends if you are going to wrap over the existing black conduit imguess.

I little birdie tells me you are also at the Shed of Zed this Saturday?...you can check out my engine bay if you like as i have used the plastic conduit.....just orange not blue :)

Indeed i am, well you could change my mind on the rubber idea, ive just always thought the rubber looks expensive :p Should be there about 10ish :)

  17. Argh.... Had just written up a long reply to each and windows decided to update and restart itself without telling me....

So ill cut to the main parts of my probably over-spoken speech

My calorie intake definetly seems lower than what you guys are taking in, when i worked it out im probably on 2000-2500 calories which is a normal male intake, but i should be on more for bulking. I thought i was eating alot but turns out not. Diet wise i can see from the agreement of people is the key, ive always thought watching your diet was for people looking to lose weight as opposed to put on so i just ate anything i wanted hoping to put on some weight. So, junk food will need to stop and need to look at more healthier options.

Alot of you are taking quite a high intake of vegetables? My normal eating is very high meat intake, i rarely eat veg unless it accompanies a certain meal, like a stir fry etc. Guessing its quite important for extra nutrition? Along with this, i probably sleep max 6 hours a day, i do relax alot just sitting watching movies. But, i presume your body doesnt fully fix itself unless you are actually asleep?

As for calorie wise, im looking at taking more high calorie shakes, ice cream, milk, fruits, honey, peanut butter and some protein powder in there. I see no way i could be able to eat that much initially as my plate portions are smaller than my girlfriends. Small stomach or something but i just fill up really easy, then hungry 1 hour later. But for me its the actual finding time in the day to sit down and eat something.

So... ill see how you guys think this diet could work. Any tweaks or inputs you have, just hit away, alot of it will be down to me being fussy aswell.

Breakfast (8am): Porridge with some fruit & coffee

Mid meal (10am): High calorie shake, normally made with ice cream, milk, 2 bananas, 150g berries, few tea spoons of honey and few of peanut butter. I believe it was around 900 calories per shake (the recipe i follow is enough for 2 shakes)

Lunch: Generally always have something snacky here like oven sausage rolls, so ill be changing that for some brown bread sandwhiches. Filling is cheese and meat. Lunch is generally one of my smaller meals, so feel free to adjust this

in-between (3pm): Another high calorie shake

Dinner(5pm): Im no cook, terrible at it so something like Chicken or fish with mushy peas, potatoes and things like that is about as good as its going to get cooking wise.

Normally hit the gym around 6pm-7pm

    Protein shake after the gym

Now... at night when im watching movie, generally 10pm ish, i snack on just lots of junk. Crisps, chocolate etc. Read its quite bad eating before bed, and to me... it seems ive had quite alot of calories and protein? Is there anything that i should take here, before bed? I always eat something during my night time movie, just something ive always done and ill crave food. anything you guys can suggest? Doesnt need to be sweet, but i couldnt eat a bunch of carrots. Maybe a pack of nuts?

Main issue i'd have is i generally dont like much healthy food, i.e. veg. I can eat small quantities, but i just dont enjoy the taste if i have alot.

  18. Was looking at doing a bit of indoor rock climbing aswell, im just one of those guys who needs a partner for competition. I dont do much if im on my own, few pull ups and just head back lol.

Was looking at the high calorie milkshakes, with peanut butter, honey, fruit, milk and ice cream. worked it out as about 950 calories per shake. just bit expensive like :/

  19. I did mine recently using the plastic conduit mentioned above. its less than £20 for a set and I had a fair bit left after doing most of the engine looms. I like the idea of what you have linked however for the largest diameter its £16 per metre, and you will need a while heap more than one metre. So it might not work out as one of your £20 mods :(

Maybe need to look at the cheaper brand ones. Thankfully its not for liquid, so i can go pretty cheap. I just wouldnt want it looking like a cheap piece of rubber, aslong as it looks expensive it can be as crap as they want to make it

Any idea on sizes? Im presuming the largest diameter isnt what i would need?

I really do need to go actually measure how long i need, and diamater if i can find a fabric tape measure. Just an idea atm ^^ would be nice to do something to my boring engine bay :p

  20. ^^  I really need some new work trousers but I've spent all my cash on the zed !

I doubt anyone looks as bad as me. I can never be bothered looking good after work, so im in grey joggers and grey hoodie when in the zed. People must think i stole it looking like a proper chav

  21. If a wrap is done properly you shouldn't need to maintain it. Products wise you can clean a wrap in the same way you'd clean a normal paint finish although I agree, if you're cleaning it there are areas where you should take care. Don't try and wrap it yourself, it's not as simple as it sounds, find a decent wrapping company that have the tools and experience.

Wrapping isnt too hard, youll just waste £200 learning to wrap before you get somewhere. Cleaning wise, i found my vinyl started to look faded, even though i cleaned it regularly. Used some product and brought the shine back again. And that was Hexis aswell. Ebay stuff, yeah give that a miss.
