  1. ill keep the water in mind, it did look a bit dodgy on videos where guys were struggling to pull off. gonna start with roof, boot and pillars as they 'seem' the easiest. so hopefully that will spur me on to do the ninja rear bumper.

is it a massive deal if you dont do it in a garage? i have nothing that i could use, so i was thinking if i just wiped before i lay it down, should be okay as no dust is gna get on?

  2. its 1/3 of the price doing yourself and a bit of satisfaction that youve customised it yourself :) i got black piece coming this week so ill give the roof a bash and see how i do since thats the easiest bit.

various opinions on preperation though, is it:

wash, then alcohol spray, let it fully dry, then spray bit of water and apply vinyl? alot of people are saying you should/shouldnt spray with water.

  3. so im thinking of wrapping my car in lambo green/focus rs green with black roof, pillars and boot. with the nismo v2 bodykit.

2 things. what do you think about the colour scheme? and have any of you wrapped your 350z before?

Been looking up videos all weekend, doesnt seem too hard just looks a pain in the ass if your new to it.

  4. spoke to three different sources and all said it wouldnt work. i have the adapter installed in car at the moment, with the 3.5jack. I dont know much about the controls so i wouldnt know where to fit it, im just going from what theyve said. If you find a way if fitting add a post on this :D

regards the USB cable on the jvc, ive got a 0.5m extention going under the middle arm rest and coming through the hole where the handsfree phone kit was. easy place to stick ipod.

  5. well i went through a ball ache of trying random peoples "d.i.y" guides on the fitting new stereo to 350z with bose, which all faied. so i went to caraudiosecurity and got them to show me what to do, thus helping others. what a thoughtful guy :D

A few things to note before you read any more.

1- JVC models 6-8 dont allow the use of steeribg wheel controls.

2- the earthing wire for the 350z is the antenna cable. so dont do what i tried and spend 2hours grounding nothing.

    what you need:

    -jvc avx640 (hopefully)

-double din fascia (note: pre06 models have different fascia, you need to cut a piece out .. images.esellerpro.com/2517/I/223/7/medscaleshop_large_connects2_b_con-ct24ns04.jpg )

    - the iso harness cable... images.esellerpro.com/2517/I/910/medscaleshop_large_celsus_b_cel-ais2260.jpg

    - some wire thinners/cutters

    -electrical tape

-and the tools req to take front stereo dash apart.

Unfortunately no photos, but ill describe in detail what to do..

step one: the earthing wire (handbrake wire as its labelled), thin the wire to remove about 2cm of the plastic coating. the screw on the back of the jvc stereo wil act as a grounding point, unscrew the screw, wrap the handbrake wire round and tighten the screw into place. covering with electrical tape.

step two: use electrical tape and cover the bue and yellow wire marked "steering wheel interface". this is void and wil confuse you with next step. also tape the black earth cable on the harness as you will not need to earth this.

step three: plug the iso harness into the jvc model harness, then plug that harness into the back of the jvc. (do not plug iso into the car adapters yet). there are multiple wires hanging off both the iso and jvc model. on the iso adapter, there is a blue wire (amplifier bypass), the connecting wire is the identicle blue wire on the jvc iso wire. this wire is plugged into the adapter, remove it by cutting the wire close to the harness allowing a longer reach. (if you dont fully understand read more basic instruction below)

[you have two iso harnesses. one that plugs into jvc model. and one that connects the jvc iso to the car plugs. the jvc iso has a blue wire (amplifier) plugged into the harness. where as the iso adapter has a blue wire not plugged into anything (amplifier) these must be connected to bypass amp. cut the blue wire away from the iso harness so that the amplifier wire would be connected from jvc model, to iso harness, which in turn would connect to car plugs.

step 4: there are four speaker input wires. Red/White/black/yellow. the black wire acts as a red wire, and the yellow wire acts as a white. as you look at the back of the stereo there are 3 red slots and 3 white slots, the black and yellow go furthest to the left slots, nd the red and white slot in the middle slots. these indicate the right/left speakers and the front/rear speakers.

step five: plug the iso harness into the car plugs, and fit the antenna to the stereo and turn on.

to check its all fitted correctly, put a dvd into the stereo. this checks video and sound. go to settings and set the sound to go all the way to the rear, then front, left, then right. now your stereos working all you have to do is fit the double din fascia.

if you have any questions feel free to PM me and i can either answer questions by mail or by phone.

  6. okay so im new to all the tuning things with cars, went feom a diesel focus to a 350 so big diff. ive looked into tuning the car at abbey motorsport as theyve had some good reviews. got the quote and its another language. so ill type out.

DE/REv up berks hfc and uprev remap

    parts: super hybrid air 32/33/34gtr

    plenium spacer

    xyz pipe with straight through

    velocity stack

    DE & revup hfc

im guessing uprev remap just makes the 04 engine upto the new engine standards? the rest i know what they look like but dont know if its worth buying and if it would improve the car for the price.

    thanks :)

  7. Hey :)

Just looking at track days to take the 350 round for a spin but dont wanna burn tyres out in one day so does anybody know any tracks/circuits that offer a number of laps for lower price?

At the moment i can only find full day/half days as opposed to 3/6/9laps etc. Would be most useful :D

    Thanks, Dean.
