    What i meant after waking up sober: For getting more power out of the zed, what mods can i do myself that wont involve me destroying engine since im not mechanically experienced

  2. where would you stand with the DVLA in regards to changing the colour on your log book? as in theory its not a permanent change

     

    Last time I checked you don't have to declare a colour change as its not permanent. Not sure if that has changed since...

     

    From what i gather (im wrapping whole car, u dnt need to tell the dvla but you do need to tell insurance. Im going lime

    Green and its gna put it up by 45pound

  3. I was thinking about removing the whole centre console once again but i still wouldnt know how to check it. The tape wire looks like its got a nic in it, tiniest thing ever on the edge of wire, but not sure how id go round checking if its that ir the jacks conncting white box to car. I got one of those fuse checker things but no idea how to work it or if it would even help me find the root of the shortcircuiting

    The tyre paint is a bit of a love hate for some people, so goes well with the love hate in your face green lol.

     

    Ill need to redo boot as made a mistake, at the end of this project, ill do a guide on vinyl wrapping, might help people out who would rather watch a guy whos made every mistake with his own money and own car, than an expert on youtube who is flawless in his videos.

     

    Current mistake with roof was: started on top left arch and came down few inches, then done the right, but then had mass excess right in the centre of boot i couldnt shrink down, so had to slice and now have a line on boot where it was joined. But it will be redone! But possibly going for green boot :D

  5. Its happened whilst ive been changing stereo, but im not sure if ive maybe ripped bit of the white box wire or the wires going into the back of the white box, or just something else that caused it to... Reset? Or something.

     

    It seems to be shortcircuiting as a new fuse goes in, lasts a minimum of turning car on to blow or upto 5mins before it blows. People think its a relay, no idea wht that is though.

     

    ADDED: might be worth mentioning cd player still works along with car lights etc, i know nothing about electronics but i would have presumed its either the white box, the thin tape looking wire connecting white box to the heater control unit, or a problem with the 3wires connecting the car mains (or whatvers deep behind console) to the back of the white box

  6. So its not every electronic piece, but the speedo/rev/fuel unit and heating dials arent working.

     

    Ive been told on the forum its down to the whie box area behind the gearstick cover. Ive taken it to military technician who cant find the solution either.

     

    Basically, i start the car, the instruments work for few minutes then the fuse blows. I put in a new 10amp fuse and it blows after a few minutes again. Ive tried insulation taping it, still no luck.

     

    The mil mechanic was going on about a relay or delay or something, anyone had this problem, or know a solution?

     

    I dont fancy going to nissan and paying loads for something that could be done at less ripoff garage, and dont want to buy a new white box unless thats the only solution.

    As far as im aware, the box still works, theres just something thats blowing fuse after few minutes.

  7. Ive spent 400 so far but think ive got enough to do rest of the car. I wasted about 100 pound worth just trying to learn how to wrap and quite alot on offcuts which are too small fir any piece of car. Its worth a go, but get a friend whos willing to help out the whole way, and dont ask a girl, their arms get sore fast....

  8. Few problems ive come accross.

     

    1) removing that damn oem spoiler. Checked up on forums and they just mention using floss to pull away from boot. Dont know if their using horse teeth floss but mine just snaps. Ordered some fishing wire - is there double sided stuff in the middle of spoiler too? If so, how do i get to that since bolts are in the way?

     

    2)rear parking sensors. Im gonna crack a guess an say i Cant vinyl over them and still expect them to work, even i they use IR light. So is it easy to just swap the sensors for black tips or does it involve new kit?

     

    3) vinyl on the rear bumper, is the exhaust going to get hot enough to start messing up the vinyl?

  9. I had same problem after i changed brakes, just bleed a bit of the brake fluid from calliper bleed nipples. I done it all 4 brakes, then went round and done it. Second time. Worked for me.
