does anyone have a guide for changing this over , or even have a picture of where it is located ? Is it an easy DIY job?

if the stock ecu doesnt like unleaded, would it not be more cost effective to ditch it and plumb in another pnp unit ? Something like megasquirt, adaptronic or aem ? then spend time on the rollers for a good tune

it has been a few years since i imported anything from the states but most new car parts attract 21-22% import duty +vat +handling fee there are a few exceptions - if the parts are sent as 1. warranty return items 2. samples - no commercial value 3. gift with a value of no more than £36 then they will not attrace duty / import tax commercial samples or warranty returns are the best i have found I am in no way condoning evading C&E or paying taxes.

would a uk ecu work in an import of the same year plug and play ?

well , deal has been done and deposit paid Just have to wait for the MOT to be sorted and private plate to be transferred off and reregistered. Its looking like i collect it in 2 weeks. Im really quite chuffed, both with the car and the responses/welcome ive had so far

well , after a busy weekend of viewing , test driving and haggling , i think i have found my Zed http://i51.tinypic.com/28b8n0k.jpg its the one i found on gumtree its actually a jap import , brembo brakes , 6 speed , 43000 kms , brembos , ginger heated electric seats , bose audio, parrot bluetooth, some sort of phone adapter in the rear cubby box, subwoofer behind drivers seat, everything else is relatively standard - from what i can tell its the ST model but with no cruise control, it has VDC aswell bad points - clutch slave cylinder needs replacing - drivers window motor is stuffed - passenger side dash cupholder wont stay in - dte / average mpg computer thing is all in kms - front pads are on the lowish side - tiny trolley ding on drivers door - tiny bit of kerbing on front drivers wheel - gearknob is a bit tatty good points - hes going to mot it for me - sort the electric window and clutch slave - he put 6 months tax on it this morning the guy selling it seems really quite genuine and is actually a really nice guy. it will be mine , hopefully collect it once the private plate is transferred off it. more pics http://i53.tinypic.com/2rf4jfb.jpg http://i54.tinypic.com/15qpyiw.jpg

can you pm me the spec of the car any mods etc mileage , tax /mot any baodywork damage / scratches ? any current faults( apart from the engine obviously) ? i will check with a few breakers yards tomorrow and come back to you

thanks for all the welcomes ive spent the last 12 years dabbling with supercharged and turbo mx5's. my current roadster is a 1998 200bhp supercharged 1.8 with 6 speed box , but its being sold once i get my Z with the mazdas its easy to tell what spec the car is by looking at a few pics , but these cars is a new one for me.

do all z's have traction control ?

are the brembos much of an improvement over the standard brakes ? a friend told me brembos would be necessary. my ideal car - gunmetal grey black leather cruise control lsd black alloys 40 - 60k miles with fsh £6-8k the gunmetal grey i linked to above is actually a european import , branded a fairladyz if that sounds right ?
