What really winds me up is the holier than thou cnuts who cycle around with helmet cams so they can film all the terrible car drivers.
I think they need to adjust their attitude and drive within the rules of the road the same as most of us do. They'll find they have no longer a need for these cameras.
So many times I've been abused by cyclists when I've done nothing wrong at all.
If anyone smashed their hand down on my car I'd probably lose my rag. I can see myself cutting them up and jumping out of the car to be honest. Wouldn't be ideal as I need SC clearance for my job so a criminal record wouldn't be a good idea

Ouch...
I must say it pains me to see a Zed in such a state.
Insurance shouldn't write it off it's a 1500 quid job or 2k to the insurance company nodoubt. Car still has a trade value of 5k or so I'd imagine. Never a write off.
If you're going to be paying your mate to help you out with it then surely its worth just paying the excess and getting it back perfect and brand new looking

This may be my problem.
Forgot to mention I have the TC light kicking in sometimes when it slips too.
front bridgestone potenza
rear maxxis victra ma-z1
Thoughts?

Get rid of those awful awful tyres immediately. Before the ditch finders do as their name suggests. Or worse.
Either get some Bridgestone RE050s to match the front, or ideally replace the whole set. I'd suggest Falken FK 452.
-
Some of us just get too tempted by an upgrade - Colin especially!Mine will likely be for sale in April/May
Yeah, but it will be more rusty looking after another winter
Oi. Sunset > White anyway
-
I'd suggest the Falken FK 452s as an alternative to the sessantas. Similar performance. Possibly slightly longer in the tooth though wear wise.
Both are good tyres.
I've never rated Eagle Assymetrics at all personally, so really don't see why you'd pay extra for them..

camskill
event tyres
mytyres
pneus-online
oponeo
tyremen
...knock yourself out I tend to check most of them every time.
for winters I went with tyremen as they had my preferred tyre in stock £20 cheaper than pneus.
make sure you buy decent winters. I don't understand why people would pay top money for performance summer tyres but then want to get the cheapest possible winters

As this has been revived:
What are the differences in terms of cost, bhp gains and noise output between:
Stock Y pipe, Berks HFCs
Decat, XYZ Y pipe with Race cat
I imagine going Motordyne Plenum / Berks HFCs / UpRev is a good alternative option for a bit cheaper again fitted?

It sounds like you only get 5 laps yourself. And not even a whole lap. North weald is an airfield they usually put about 4 corners on.
Not sure it's worth it It's cheap for a reason.
But I'd be glad to be proven wrong.

Heathrow != Slough
Ahh well. Maybe when the evenings are longer again we'll sort something

Hi all
I have already posted on the 370z section loving the car to bits, even though I only had it from friday (11/11/11) and hopfully get some good pictures soon...
And this is where Im going to ask you if any one have any good locations around heathrow area for some good pics, I have a DLSR just need the right backdrop happy to take some pictures of your cars aswell need some more practice in taking some shots as I normally do Wakeboard pictures (See Sig)
I know a great place in Hayes for a shoot:
If interested we could do a little mini shoot with the two cars. I've got my own dslr as well.
Can you make weekday lunches? I live in Harrow but work here. Could pop out for a mid afternoon photo sesh.
Drop me a pm.

Gutted I couldn't make this one looks great, although just back from an 1800 mile round trip to Munich!
Did you take the zed?
-
Cardboard + pencil + MDF + hacksaw + leather or vinyl to cover it = tonneau
your one looks like it does the job nicely!
Cheers mate.
Really not bad for the £40 I paid for it
The idea of paying 120-150 for the same thing but that you also need to drill into your car to fit seems foolhardy by comparison, in my opinion..
-
.......Each to their own!
-
I'll be at the ring in April or early may. Once I've got a date set I'll let you chaps know.
-
1x1. Gloss finish. By the meter. Ready to cut/apply. I don't mind if it needs heat or not.
Want to have a go at the interior trim and a couple of other bits if I get any good at it
Cheers folks

Interesting to know.
Got your graph? Put it up?

I very rarely have the aircon off and on a decent run I have had 34mpg
Round town etc I get roughly the same as everyone else round here... between 23-26mpg
I get 16
Either your Zed is broken or you drive like a muppet
My average when I last looked was at 11.4mpg average over about 5 tanks
That is superb going!

Fun fun fun.
I managed 50s in the M1 contraflow up towards milton keynes. The zed is fine. London commuting just sucks ass.

Semi-serious topic.
I'm trying to plan a road trip for next Summer. Will be taking the zed sowill be posting up with advance requests on getting more than 1 hours worth of luggage in; etc - in due course
Take a look at this:
http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?saddr=london&daddr=Am+Olympiapark+2,+80809+M%C3%BCnchen,+Deutschland+(BMW+Museum)+to:Transf%C4%83g%C4%83r%C4%83%C5%9Fan,+Sibiu,+Rom%C3%A2nia+to:Budapest,+Hungary+to:N%C3%BCrburgring,+N%C3%BCrburg,+Germany+to:london&hl=en&ie=UTF8&sll=48.589326,12.23877&sspn=12.185702,33.815918&geocode=FXjUEQMd5BL-_yl13iGvC6DYRzGZKtXdWjqWUg%3BFccf3wIdRF-wACGc8bA5DxYk1Q%3BFQ7guAIdUkB3ASlzfDA4qt1MRzE3h2C9en5RUA%3BFabE1AId9okiASnJz9TRNMNBRzFgER4MKcQABA%3BFWcQAAMdfg5qACGoNLZfAqkeLQ%3BFXjUEQMd5BL-_yl13iGvC6DYRzGZKtXdWjqWUg&vpsrc=0&mra=ls&t=m&z=6
Central, down to the chunnel - followed by a blast down to Munich where I'll stay on night 1. Day 2 check out the BMW museum before driving on to Sibiu, Romania - for night 2. We then get an EARLY start and fly over to the Transfagarasan highway, perhaps running this twice.
We then run from Sibiu back to Budapest, Hungary - for a three night stay. Recover, then drink.. Lots for 2 nights. Then on the final day drive up to the Széchenyi Baths in North West Pest, have a few hours of recovery and then an epic run to the Nurburgring.
Arriving at the ring on Thurs night, there'll be the 3 hour open slot on Fri evening and a full Touristfahrten on Saturday.
Drive back on Sunday.
Take monday off to recover.
Total round trip is approx 3000 miles!! Mostly motorway so will get the full 300 mile range from the zed Just the 10 tanks of fuel then!!!!! Plus another tank for the ring laps. Costs otherwise are a service beforehand, tyres both beforehand and possibly afterwards, accomodation (only expensive at the ring) and food/drink.
The places:
BMW Welt: http://www.bmw-welt.com/web_rb/bmw-welt ... rview.html
Transfăgărășan Highway: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Transf%C4% ... 83%C8%99an
Széchenyi Baths: http://visitbudapest.travel/activities/ ... nyi-baths/
And the 'ring needs no introduction of course...
Sound like a plan?
