  1. Well sadly after trying all other insurance companies(Cheapest £1500) no one will come anywhere near admiral(£750) so will have to go crawling back to them tail between my legs after telling them to ram it for missinforming me and telling them i'd be going else where £200 more over am incident that i never got any compensation for and will be shafted for an other 3 to 5 years till i can tick the no box.
  2. Ended up going with this one http://www.leconcepts.com/products/lcd- ... ce=Froogle Picture is really good when on a good HD channel. Not watched a 3d film yet but had a look at a few 3d trailers and watched a bit of footy in 3d and was impressed. Not 3d the way i think of it(jumping out at you) but it does give the image alot more depth. Will only get used once ina blue moon anyway. The 2D to 3D conversion was pretty dissapointing, only notice it on a few things but when it does work it its ok. You can download apps for it i don't have an i phone or android phone so don't have a clue how that works yet. Still not played the ps3 on it yet so will need to get MW3 to try it out when the pups sleeping. So a good tv and if it last five years till the warrenty runs out i'll be chuft with that. The 3D glasses have a film tint on them with a tab at the bottom of the lens(inside and out) one blue one red, do i peel these off or just cut of the annoying tabs as it doesn't mention them in the instructions??
  3. So i get punished for a hit and run done on me which the police didn't bother to follow up and i didn't get any compensation from his insurance as he denyed it. Wish i had just delt with him myself now and not involved the police or insurance. Would have felt justice and not been out of pocket!
  4. Insurance is due for renewal on the 14th, got the reminder through from admiral for £700 odd then done a few quotes and got them down to £550 so got them to match it only to find out that i have a claim/incident on my profile which should not have been there.Basically, a van hit my old car , minor scuff on the bumper, the van fled. I then decided to phone my insurance to enquire about this ( if i followed this up by contacting the vans insurance would that affect my present and future insurance to which admiral told me it wouldnt as i was not claiming through my own insurance) so i thought it would be ok, so followed up vans insurance and driver denied it so I left it at that.To claim through my insurance would not have been worth it as price would go up and it was only a minor scuff so fixed it myself and car is now sold.So now insurance database has a claim against me which i never wanted in the first place and putting price up £200. Is there anything I can do?
  5. I know that the 3d isn't useable that often and definatly wont be the future of 3d but most new tvs have it so may aswell get it and use it when i can. Had a good look round comet and currys so have seen a good few. Found this http://www.leconcepts.com/products/lcd- ... ce=Froogle could only see a smaller model of it in currys/comet but the opther 6 series ones look good. Dalos 3d active as its ment to be a better image than passive. Dont really care about the whole smart tv thing as if i want to go on the internet i'll use the laptop or pc as they will always be better but most tv's are starting to come with that also just can't see me ever using that feature. NeilP is your 6 series like the one in the link above?
  6. Our current tv looks to be on its way out so looking for a replacement. LED tvs seem to be the future for now so would like one of them and may as well be 3D(active) if i'm going to splash some cash. I've done a bit of reaserch on plasma,LCD and LED's and passive and active 3d, so have a breife understanding but no experiance really. So if anyone clued up on them could help me i'd appreciate that. Here what i'm lloking for I have a budget of £1000 as its to last a good few years. LED,HD,3D active. Current tv is 46" i think so no smaller but not much bigger 50" max. Has to look nice and modern to keep the Mrs happy. Would like it to be able to convert 2D to 3D. So far only found this http://www.simplyelectricals.co.uk/tele ... d6530.html Any help and advice is appreciated
  7. Right so just bin these ones from ebay and get the ones with the resistor? if so will teach me for rushing into buying cheap mods
  8. Hmm i ordered them but now think i'll hold back on fitting them and see if anyone else has had issues with them. Don't fancy trying to change them mid winter in either a down pour of rain of when its freezing if there going to fail that quick
  9. Yeh only mod is the jwt induction kit, light still hasn't came back on and been working overtime so not fitted the new sensors either. could have been a false alarm.
  10. Think i'll get these as mines are the old yellow ones and don't go with the dipped lights. How easy are they to fit? as when i changed the indicator bulbs to chrome ones, all the rest looked like they would require to either remove the light or go up through the wheel arch. Why design stuff like this?
  11. I reset it at the start of the week and it hasn't come back on,so can't be totally nakred. Getting the two sensors from Alex anyway so if it does come on i'll just swap them over. Too much sensors on modern cars!
  12. Could be an option mate if i can't find out which bank I need
  13. ECU light came on last night Got the code check with a obd2 reader and its coming up as a P1167 (Heated O2 Sensor 2) Reset the ECU and the light as stayed off for now. Guessing I'll need a new sensor but is their anything else worth checking that could throw this error up? Am i right in guessing by sensor 2 its the post cat O2 sensor? if so how do i know which one? Thanks for help guys, I'll be for the price of a sensor since in my experiance thats usually whats wrong.
  14. Dropped the car off this morning. He used to be auto visuals at the brickie in whitecross but hes moved to bo'ness but don't know if he still uses the name auto visuals. I'll stick some pics up when i pick the car up on wednesday hopefully sinces hes doing a fair amou of the panels and fitting a spoiler, Itl either looks as good as new or like a patchwork quilt.
  15. The two outer nuts are only locking nuts. Mark the center nut, loosen the two outer nuts, Make your adjustement to the center nut by however much you want(sorry cant remember which way tightens and which loosens, you can tell by looking at the treads or just give it a turn and it will be obvious if you cant tell by looking). Once your happy with your new position tighten the two locking nuts. Its a doddle mate you'll be fine and finished in less than a minute
  16. The one's with the 14mm nuts are 10M x 1.25(checked with a thread guage). I know as i damaged the start of the thread on one holding the strutbrace when removing it to gain access to get to the spark plugs just about a week ago. I couldn't get a die that size at work but luckily one of the turners had a thred file the correct size so tidyed it up with that. So an educated guess would say M8 x 1.25. Hopefully someone can confirm this. The x 1.25 at the end is the thread pitch
  17. Sorted! and no bits left over. Its actually pretty easy with the guide. Didn't do the ipod hack though as could't get the right wire
  18. Just reserved a cheap soldering iron from maplin and will give this a go on saturday morning if i can get it ripped out after work today. so prepair for a thread tommorow morning saying help!!
  19. I will keep you in mind. I have the car booked into a bodyshop i have used before once i managed to track down his new location. so will see how that turns out then I will need a few paint corrections and a good polish and wax to finish the car off. Thanks
  20. I read that guide before posting, was unsure if it would be easier and not cost too much to just put a different one in. But i suppose i could always give it a try and if i make a mess of it then i'll be left to buy a new one. as for huskey's guide i've done some soldering a few years back when i did a bit of sparky training and it was messey! but if i had the unit out and in a million bits then why not? just need to buy a ipod to go with it
  21. I will be changing the head unit sometime in the near future to get rid of the left speakers cutting out problem. Now i'm not very good when it comes to ICE or eletrics so after a few searches it seems that replacing the head unit will solve the left speaker issue's and the skipping(not happned yet) is this correct? If so how much does this usually cost by the time you buy a Head unit, looms, facia etc? I wouldn't be after anything fancy just something that plays CD's and the radio that still works through the steering wheel. thanks for helping
  22. Awsome, i'm sure i seen some scarp bits of plastic about the right thickness lying about at work so will get myself a wee bit and glue it on on Tuesday when i'm back at work.
  23. Great guide, I did mine thismorning only took 5min. was dreading it after reading other guides untill is saw this one with actual pictures and it was a breeze just a bit akward!! How did you connect the plastic spacer to your pedal? I thouch of just super glue but don't know how that will stand up to vibration etc. mine is just touching the sensor but not enough to activate it so will need to do something about that.
  24. Definately a good jump! s2000 are nice and more power than the civic and rear wheel drive. Its a GT so has the eletric heated seats, bose cd player and what ever else is standard for the gt.
  25. They're from aberdeen! don't think they will travel that far haha
