Hi, My japspeed y-pipe cracked at the corroded flexi's so I got hold of a new custom one from www.powerspeed.co.uk Should i replace the gaskets ? As it didnt come with any. in which case are the gaskets required the two flat ones at the cats and a conical wire mesh ? And are there members on here or should ebay's do fine ? Thanks guys

Yeh will have a read thanks. Yeh ive had the car since 73k, now at 97k. Never had any problems with oil before. I had nissan top it up at a free health check in January. It doesn't appear to be leaking anywhere under the car.

No worries Dave, where fine. I may not be to the same level as lots of you on here, the whole check the oil every trip etc, but I do look after my car. Those may remember a thread a while back about the garage; I had a full service and got them to change the rear drop links. They chopped the front off instead and then wanted me to help pay as i wanted them to replace them with new ones. After I made a right fuss it was resolved but since then ive been finding little reminders that the mechanic was a prick. Including damaging my rota gtr's when changing the tyres then over tightening the nuts, which took me a 5 foot attachment on the wrench to get them off! ............Hence my feelings that the garage aint the best.

Exactly though, without knowing the full facts why conclude major case of owner neglect , its just rude. hows it coming along, i believe people are genuinely interested to see whats happened here ? The car seems to running fine, pressure readings look ok. I am getting it up on the ramps next week to flush it out.

Used a vernier to mark 50mm back hack sawed it off sanded a chamfer Used a M8 diamond and turned a 10mm thread cut a small part of the engine plastics fit

Hi, Apart from my car running out of oil today I got my Tein hood dampers from theheff, top guy btw! Anyway, seen on the forums that the manual fitment location involves chopping a considerable amount of engine plastic, not something i was intending to do. So much like another member (forgotten who) i instead mounted them into the fender fix point, an already threaded fixing point. One issue with this spot is its ~90mm offset closer to the hinge, so doing SOH CAH TOA = bonnet aiming near vertical After figuring out if it would fit (using Plasticine) I had to adjust the strut. So i decided to take off 50mm from the dampener, making sure they both had the same off. Then put a thread on it and Boom, done. Pics to prove. Happy with the angle. If im going to have my hood up, its because i want to get to the engine parts!! Higher than standard, but i like it! Marks out of 10 ?

Well reluctantly I drove very slowly to the halfords down the road, only 2 miles away. Put ~3 litres in and its now half way between the notches. " So if you are below L you are running at only 50% ish oil. This will be a vicious cycle as that oil will get hotter than normal and not work as efficiently. " Yeh when putting oil in it was fuming out the top. Seems ok now Thanks guys

Seems normal. Forgot to mention, the oil light only comes on when going around sharp corners, at normal speed, so just above the limit

Hi, My oil light has just come on. Bit worried as it only had a service ~3000 miles ago in March. Im going to go buy some oil, so how many litres should I put in ? (note. upto im aware upto dipstick level ) Thanks
