Is the bonnet catch known to be problematic? A few months ago I noticed my bonnet was not shut properly after I had arrived at my destination (I had checked the oil level that day).
This morning I again checked my oil level and the bonnet was definitely closed properly when I'd finished. I know this as I'm a bit paranoid about it due to the incident above. Anyway, I was overtaking a few cars and saw the bonnet pop up just as I got level to the last car, leaving me with the nice decision of braking hard or carrying on.
It was clear enough that I could slow down and still safely overtake Mr 40mph and then turned off to park. The guy I parked next to gave me a look as if to say "you're a dangerous moron, shut the bloody bonnet"
Question is, is there anything I can do or should I just get a new one and not drive the car?
