Hi all.
Just fitted my vinyl front plate. Looks better than having a massive front number plate bracket on the front.
Cost me £5 off eBay.
All legit size, spacing etc. and yeah, I know it's not legal, but they'll have to be seriously anal to do anything about it.
Would recommend!
I'll get a pic up soon!

That's pretty good actually.
Personally would have put it vertical to fit in the dash.

Cheers
Im unsure with the front plate atm, im going to get a vinyl plate made up for the min till i can decide on a solution
might even get a cheeky small plate and try and risk it
Get a full sized plate and attach very strong magnets to it, cover them in a material that won't scratch your bumper though. Also attactch two strong magnets to the back of the bumper, simple on and off when needs be.

Don't buy one from Birmingham/Manchester, check the pistonheads forum, near 100 have been stolen due to copied keys.

Am i the only one that was watching that thinking "would of hit that..", "and that", "ooh and that", "thats a nice field ...would of been in that"?
I think back to my laps and I think, how did I not hit that? Or that? How did I not end up in that field?!

I'm from Watford and work in Hemel, so I'll keep an eye out!
Get some pictures up!

As title says really.
Does anyone race their zed? If so, what category do you race in?
I'm going to spend the next year transforming my car into a track car and getting track experience.
Then if all goes well, ild like to get into actual racing. Just seeing what clubs/classes people run in!

Personally not a fan of the spoiler. Too big.
Less is more sometimes.

Nurburgring?

You took sandpaper to your car and it came out like that?! You must be Jesus.
The thought of wet sand going anywhere near my car makes me cry.
-
Exactly, for the price I paid for the zed, it's at it's lowest depreciation point, might as well have as much enjoyment out of it.
I'm just deciding what to buy first really.
Going to do donington on 17th aug, so aim to have all breaks done by then. Go out and use the remainder of my tyres as they're coming to the end of their life.
Then either buy some rays with decent tyres, or a set of very good tyres for my 17's.
Then it's onto a full roll cage I've got my eyes on! Oh so excited

Personally, I think all window tints look poor/tacky and not worth the hassle of worrying about fines/peeling them off.
And as rightly said, your vision is reduced, you may not think it, but it is. Just make sure you watch out for motorcycles.
-
Sell it, use the money to get a copy and smooth that?
-
Also, appears to be illegal tinted windows?
Sell the wheels whilst you can, get some decent 18's and enjoy the handling the car once had before you ruined it.

I had one, then realised it was my passenger seatbelt so plugged it in, sorted.

"it doesn't matter if you win by an inch or a mile. Winning is winning..."

Not to be rude, but....
I honestly thought this was going to be a joke thread when I opened it.
Honestly, putting cheap looking 22's on a car has ruined it. And you can't call it a show car just for some huge wheels.
Again, not being rude but..... Leave that stuff to the Americans.
If you was to do show car, look at P15ult.

Seen him a few times around. Think it was a nismo as well.

There's a guy near me with an evo 6 with a haunted forest and deathly looking woman on it, hes a tattoo artist so it looks good.
But read up about 'the broken window theory' other people who 'tag' may see the car as an acceptable place to write 'Dave Woz ere' on it. And a lot higher chance of it being keyed?
There used to be a Peugeot 106 with a graffitied bonnet. And the rest of the car was Euro style. Now that looked sweet. Plus, it's easy to respray a bonnet/change the design when you get bored, rather than a whole car.

In Watford, was following you, number plate TIB 7010 I think, had japspeedIn down the side.
Anyone's?

Are the rays really THAT light?! I thought they were still pretty heavy?
I can't remember the model but they're oz racing 17's. Had a set of them on one of my previous cars, and IIRC they were pretty light.

Anybody have any opinions regarding running 17's or 18's?
I know 17's will clear brembos, so that's not an issue. Just wondering handling aspect?
I've seen some lightweight 17's at a very good price and personally prefer to the 18 rays.
Think I've read before somewhere you should aim for smallest diameter but widest possible?

I do the occasional track day and I always remember what I was told 40 years ago, "if you want to drive fast, first set your car up to brake fast" i.e suspension and brakes then look at getting fast. If you see what I mean.
Exactly, better brakes:brake later!
