  1. Hiya

Had a skim through the posts in here but couldnt find anything covering my problem. Hadn't noticed it before as it is on the passenger side only and it was only when someone opened the window whilst in the passenger seat they heard the noise.

Its from the rear passenger side, a sort of repetitive shh sound. Sounds like something rubbing against something else every 1/4 second or so. It doesn't happen until I have been driving for about 10 mins then it gets progressively louder.

The previous owner said he put new discs on the car. So I am assuming its the brake pads rubbing against the discs? Maybe the distance is not great enough so when the pads heat up they expand or something?

    Any ideas?

  2. Bought a Sony one from Amazon, gave it a try just now with my iPhone and it absolutely pumps the music out without any interference. Very pleased and will suffice as a music player for now. Saw some mixed reviews on this but mine seems to be working just fine.

  3. I used a company called Totally Dynamic for wrapping previously in Redhill, might be near to you. They are excellent and have done plenty of show cars, for me they simply wrapped my front grill on my previous car. Even when I then drove it down the road and 2 days later a stone ripped a whole in it they patched it for free.

  4. My last three cars have all been black - quite happy to put the time in to keep it shining.

Cleaned the interior out so it doesn't smell like it belongs to someone else which is good. Used some matte wipes and it came up really well. Just need to fix the damn ashtray which flops about and one of the sidelights is not working.

Probably going to invest in some Falken or Vred tyres in the coming months too.

  5. After an epic first post in here, full of daft questions, thought I would post proper as an owner and show some pics. Car was quite discounted for what its worth, needs a few bits of bodywork and new tyres but otherwise in great condition and goes like a bullet, actually I very much doubt the bullet would keep up... :teeth:

Its had a first prep, wash, moisturized then resin polished and came up ok. The paint certainly needs some TLC as I can feel bumps on it and the front bumper needs a few bug n tar sessions but otherwise looking good.

  6. Sorry to hear that.

I happen to be a dab hand at CV's if you want a second eye run over it mate...(we can look into creating a couple of CVs its good to have a skills set CV and an experience based CV as a start point and adjust each one for the relevant jobs)...just PM and let me know.

  7.

Going to sit down tonight and read the manual. Then up early tomorrow to clean it up nice and shiny then over to my mates place who wants a look at it. Think I have done well, a few scratches, exhaust blowing a bit, so knocked a lot of money off the asking price. I can have a go at a few bits, my dad and brother both run their own car mechanic business so can help with a few others and with the number plate should add a lot of value and be back to mint. Previous owner had let it go a bit...

  8. Im such a plonker, reparked the car as the rowing set have now gone home and parking spaces near my place are available. Looked at the controls and noticed a button depressed that looked like a window with a key through it. Pressed it, it popped up, window now moves.

Although still doesn't explain the excessive wind noise.

  9. Thanks guys I will have a look at this, I literally bought it this morning, up in the West Midlands then drove it back to London and noticed the noise, it only kicks in really over 70mph but is still annoying. I pushed the window and it doesn't seem to be sitting snug in the door, there seems to be a bit of play in there. The window itself is stuck closed, so wont go down.

Another question, a dumb one, but still - where is the cigarette lighter socket so I can plug in my sat nav etc. Found an ash tray in the central column but nothing else...
