  1. Thought that might be the case. Getting the clicky axle fixed this weekend (part enroute courtesy of Alex) so will stump up more money in May for some decent grip.

Then I can start buying some fun stuff :teeth:

  2. That does seem a bit steep, but maybe its your age? Im nearly 40 and the cheapest i was getting was 800quid. The specialist insurers, for me at least, came in at £1400.

Insurance companies just seem to hate the zed, it would have been cheaper for me to insure a porsche or a m3.

I usually find confused.com pretty good at showing the cheapest. You can then play with things like the excess to see what difference that makes on the quote.

Id increase the excess slightly. Also, maybe change your job title slightly - as some titles make a huge difference. Did you put down that it has a thatcham cat 1 alarm on it? My insurance company told me the 313 has one fitted as standard.

Admiral, elephant and Adrian Flux were the cheapest for me.

Postcode does make a difference but not by a grand. My current address costs me 10% more than my old one due to the postcode.

+1 on the job description, I was pricing up the Z on Admiral and I put in 'Office/Director' as a job description and got a quote, I actually used the wrong thing as when I reviewed the quote I found Research Consultant which is spot on so I changed it and it knocked about £300 off!

  3. Insurance companies are very clued up, they run financial programs using stats based on age, gender, accident likelihood etc and price accordingly. By all accounts they are still not making enough money I read in the news, some premiums have gone up 40% for younger drivers this year.

Although, female drivers will lose their femalability benefits regarding insurance in December when insurance companies will not be allowed to price using gender as a factor.

  4. Need to replace the tyres next month, got a fairly good deal on some 452's at circa £400 for a full set on standard 18" alloys. Saw a post on here from someone considering part worn tyres, wondered if anyone has any going that might tempt to to save myself a few quid.

  5. We pay about £500 I think it is through Diamond Insurance, wife is the main driver with me named, fully comp, windscreen cover, 3 years NCB. Parking on the road is actually cheaper than parking in a garage or driveway so no worries on that front. We are both 35+ though...

  6. Yeah thought that might be the case.

I got both Z badges that go front and back, I also have the '350Z' badge, and I am wondering where to put it. Maybe in the middle underneath the rear Z badge above the number plate...?

  7. The missus whacked the kerb on the front of the car the other night...I think I will just stick with the bumper I have at the moment and just go to town with some detailing work. She has a knack of bumping into things so would be distraught if she clattered my shiny new Nismo bumper!

Got some Megs bug n tar enroute via amazon and should be with me today...

  8. Taddy's looks mean as hell.

I might be changing the front bumper to something like a nismo v1 at some point so will hold on to them for the time being.

Black alloys seem to go quite well as well...

  9. Thats the ones, they look very good but wonder if anyone has tried sticking them onto a black Z - I guess it takes away a lot of the chrome look - just wondering if there were any photos out there before I set about removing the current badges!

  10. Whilst on ebay the other night, after a few beers with the lads, purchased two black Z badges front and back and the '350Z' badge also in black, for my black 350z...

...they arrived yesterday and they look good in hand, not so sure how they will look on the car. Anyone seen this?

  11. Listen pal, you need to cut your losses and take your business onto ebay or somewhere like that where you might pick up a dirty car in your price range. No one on here is going to sell a low miler Zed for that sort of money, cash or not.

Simply arguing with the members isn't going to endear you either. It seems from your 'history' of car ownership you have driven a few sports cars, if thats the case you should have a better understanding of what the cost of something like a Zed is.

  12. I must say I let my heart rule my head a bit...suddenly found that I need to find £500 for new tyres all round in the next few months, also the small crack in the windscreen I thought I could get done on insurance is non repairable so needs a full windscreen change. Also got a little dent in the front bumper which needs looking at.

I went on my own but wish I had taken a buddy who could have helped make a more objective call on it.

  13. Good selection there, liking the Maserati!

I must admit being an essex boy I am one day hoping to snap up an old Ford Escort and drop a decent lump in it and refurbish it...you know the sort of project car you always imagine. An old Escort Mexico would be awesome.

    Some more...
