Would it be wrong to smooth a nismo bumper?
ChristopherJames replied to ChristopherJames's topic in 350Z General
Thanks for the photos. Gives me a good idea of what it would look like keeping the reflectors -
Would it be wrong to smooth a nismo bumper?
ChristopherJames replied to ChristopherJames's topic in 350Z General
I can see both sides to what people are saying and the reason for even thinking about selling the genuine one and getting a replica is just due to resell value. I know the nismo is very sought after and doing the modifications that I want to would ruine it for most people but I know how good it will look. Well I pick the bumper up tonight and hopefully get it in primer tomorrow at work. I just need to decide what I'm going to do... -

It certainly is that one. I pick it up tomorrow after work and then will hopefully get it in primer on Friday at work. I think I will end up smoothing the reflectors as I really like the look on my standard bumper and it makes it that little bit different so now I just need to decide if I will be doing it to this bumper or sell this one on and buy a replica from RT-Performance. -
Thanks for the replies guys!

I have managed to source a genuine nismo bumper. Like my current bumper I want to smooth out the side reflectors, badge and the lip. I was just wondering how wrong would it be to do this to an original and should I be doing this to a replica?
-
Hi guys, Just out of interest what material is the nismo n1 original front bumper made of? And other than the sticker on the inside what are the other tell tell signs of an original?

viewtopic.php?f=11&t=62254 Take a look at this tread I started last week after taking a few pictures in the sun :-)
-
Yes the ariel smoothing makes a big difference! They are the 370 indicators :-)

That lens flare is indeed not real. Added with photoshop when I was messing around.

Thanks guys. That is my other half, I thought it would be nice to have the two together. I went for the Canon 1100D with a twin lens kit. It's a really nice bit of kit to get me back into photography. I have now decided to keep the car, I couldn't seem to let it go and until I can happily let it go I will keep enjoying it (and putting more money into it). Thanks dude. Yer its the standard bumper with the reflectors, badge and number plate smoothed out (I like smoothing things out if you hadn't noticed) I have been looking at spacers but I would rather buy new wheels which is a big decision that I keep changing my mind about....

I have recently purchased a new camera and thought it was time to get some photos of the zed while we had this lovely weather.
-
I have done this and I have to say its one of the best styling mods that I could recommend! I went for the 370z side repeaters. I have to say its a big job as it involves cutting and welding but well worth it for the final outcome.

Being the idiot that I am I managed to break one of the gills on the passenger side air vent has broken off and it really bugs me. Does anyone have a spare or know who I could get one off? Cheers, Chris

I removed my OEM springs coming up to a year ago now and I think they are still sitting in the garage somewhere. I'm also from Leicester so if I can find them you could also pick them up to save on postage

How are you getting on with the unit? I'm looking to get this unit now that I have sold my app radio unit. Any reviews would help me make my decision.
-
If anyone on here wants the unit I am also willing to include the wiring kit which links the head unit to the standard loom, the adaptor to connect with steering wheel controls and RCA splitters. All meaning if you want this unit it's a simple plug and play. To include these I would want an extra £20 which is saving you £30 on wires alone!

It's buy-it-now not auction so it ends when someone wants to buy it at that price

Pioneer SPH-DA01 AppRadio
ChristopherJames replied to ChristopherJames's topic in I.C.E & Electronics
That's all very helpful! I have to turn it up quite loud but when I do it also sounds very distored. The head unit only has one pre out so I am having to use a splitter to run the standard speakers. I think I will end up upgrading my system as I'm used to the quality of JL and alpine. The Bose system it adequate if you haven't been used to anything better I guess but I might be expecting to much from the Bose speakers. Watch this space for more I.C.E upgrades! -
Pioneer SPH-DA01 AppRadio

Thanks dave, Your post made me realise my stupid mistake and now the unit works. I am a bit disappointed from the sound quality that i'm getting now though. With the standard Bose unit I was able to crank the volume up with little distortion and now just turning it up a little give quite poor sound quality, in particular from the rear speakers. Other than upgrading the entire system is there anything I can do?
