  1. My tax on my 57 is £435 which is about double of the pre 2006 models (worth it ). I know people who also prefer the looks of the older model too. I parked up at my mums work on Saturday to give her a lift home and a guy was there with an immaculate 2004 350z in black. As you do we started chatting. He said he thinks the older models have more character whilst I argued the opposite. All personal preference.
  2. Thanks guys. How did I miss that thread? Been out all night I'll blame it on that.
  3. Yup my 350z had a faulty window motor but they repaired it prior to me picking it up. Other than that check the usual things like the service manual etc.
  4. As some of you may know I have just bought a 350z and it's my first "nice" car. My old car got a wash every now and then but nothing more than a wash with car shampoo and some Turtlewax. I've had a good look so apologies if I have missed it. I can't seem to find a list of the bare necessities for a decent home wash. Looking at some of the posts people use a huge variety of products. Maybe someone with experience of detailing could produce a thread to be made a sticky with products in set price ranges? Like a car cleaning kit costing up to £25, £50, £75 etc etc. I have relatives who work for a well known trade car supply company, but I don't really know the stuff I need other than a good shampoo and wax. I see stuff like drying aides, clay bars etc. Little help?
  5. Welcome. What's your budget and is there any particular colour you are after? That will cut down your search and can make things a lot easier or a lot more difficult to find something particular.
  6. Thanks all. It really is a great car to look at and I find myself peering out of the window to have a look. Reversing is a little bit tricky, I'm so used to a hatchback that it is going to take some time to get used to parking quickly in it. Anyone have advice on the sticker removal issue from page one? They are warning stickers about not putting a baby in the seat facing away from the windscreen. They have to go!
  7. I'm at work that weekend . Back into work on Saturday and I'll book it off then I'll add my name to the list .
  8. I assume a ticket include a space on the club parking area?
  9. I might have to come to this, I'm 5 minutes from the M4 and I could make it in about an hour and a half. Is there a date you need a confirmation by? I'd have to check my work rosters.
  10. Quite rightly so! it was a call from my oncologist to explain some cancer treatment! IT WAS A CALL I DIDNT WANT TO MISS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i pulled over to the side of the road but by that time it was too late!!! Although I hate it when people use their phones while driving, I must say most police would use their discretion if you explained what the call was about in your circumstances.
  11. Drove home today from Oxford, like a big kid I was looking forward to it all night. Then the sun went in and the heavens opened non-stop, but hey-ho! Finally got around to taking some photos on a little Cybershot camera. Not much room in the drive at the moment so these are the best I can get, especially as I was getting soaked while doing it. I'll get some better ones the first chance I get. I love it. It cruises along and then when it's needed it can just tear away. So far I really can't fault it anywhere. However, there is just one thing that is annoying me... How can I remove these God-awful stickers on the visors without tearing away the fabric? They look like they don't look like typical stickers, it looks like they are glued in place. Finally, thanks to everyone who helped me out with advice. I'm glad I stuck it out for this car and didn't give in and get one in another colour when I couldn't find any more midnight blue ones, I like almost all of the colours but I would have regretted not getting the one I wanted!
  12. Thanks all. They are valeting the car ready for tomorrow. It's going to take some getting used to. The biggest car I have driven was a Mondeo but I have been driving a Fiesta for the last years so it will take some getting used to. I will have to look into Japfest this year that's for sure. Not sure how far I'll be prepared to drive to shows yet though. I will get some photos up tomorrow but they will be on an iPhone as I am away from home for a few days. The downside to finding the car was that it's a good 2 hour drive from home so I figured it was a chance to see my sister and brother in-law who live in between home and the car .
  13. Today I filed out the paperwork and I now own a 57 plate 350z in Midnight Blue. After a lot of searching for this specific car, I had given up after one near to me sold. I randomly typed "350z Midnight Blue" into Google and up this one popped on the top of the list. I took it out on a test drive before hand and it was insane The power and torque is raw yet not overpowering. It handled like a dream and when your foot goes down it just keeps pulling and pulling. I pick it up tomorrow and will be driving it with kid gloves for a while I think! I will get pictures up as soon as I can! That said, I now hope to get involved in some of the club meets as soon as possible.
  14. Where in London are you Ben? I've viewed a fair amount of Zeds in the last week all over West London, Thames Valley and Hertfordshire. There are some great cars out there. What's your budget?
  15. That car is simply stunning. Great colour too! I gotta say, the red callipers are much better than the yellow ones. Not much, but nice all the same.
  16. Not trying hard enough, I'm sure you can fit a kid in the boot!
  17. This should be an interesting thread, good luck .
  18. 23 3 years NCB Standard 57 plate Zed With both parents as named drivers, £890 with Admiral with a £350 excess
  19. Now that sounds like fun. Went solo?
  20. A a lot more people that I expected. I half thought most people would have it as their toy and nothing else. It will be my only car so until the day I can afford to run two cars, it will be my daily. Work is about 8 miles so nothing too bad there. The longest trip I make regularly is about 35 miles each way so again, not too hard going.
  21. Simple question, who uses their Z for the daily commute, drive around town and to the shops rather than just for a weekend toy. I'll be using mine for the commute etc, but it might get me to ride the bike to work a couple of times a week again .
  22. Would love to go to this, but it's a good 4hour+ drive without traffic.
